The Burden of Unlimited Wants and Needs

Supply-and-Demand-Graph

I remember back in college and the university, sitting in my first microeconomic and macroeconomic classes, learning how price and quantity affected Supply and Demand and vice versa. I also remember clearly the professor saying how humans had unlimited wants and needs. It struck me, even back then, that that wasn’t a given, but a bold assumption, and that it was something we were conditioned into, not something based on truth. The professor only said that one sentence and moved on quickly, while in my opinion, a statement like that merits further discussion and examination before moving on because I think it is a dangerous assumption to base any sort of narrative on.

 tumblr_lb0sg5etoT1qbkc1no1_500
Later, when I had to take mandatory courses in marketing, it reinforced my initial suspicion:
That “wants” are created:
HT_hermes_birkin_bag_jef_130923_16x9_992
(i.e a new $15 000 Hermes Birkin Purse, the new lululemon line of clothing)
and “needs” can be fixed (i.e food, shelter, clothing, warmth)
I don't think they're asking for very much, do you?

I don’t think they’re asking for very much, do you?

and that the business industrial complex are the real culprits for creating artificial wants and needs and brainwashing us with them through the media.

Folks, Bill Hicks was right…

Normally, NASA studies hardly ever make headlines but it was picked up by The Guardian’s chief environmental journalist Nafeez Ahmed and the article quickly went viral and was picked up by other news agencies. What I particularly found very interesting is that the study (not the journalist, nor the newspaper) points the finger of blame directly at the Elites.

“These factors can lead to collapse when they converge to generate two crucial social features: “the stretching of resources due to the strain placed on the ecological carrying capacity”; and “the economic stratification of society into Elites [rich] and Masses (or “Commoners”) [poor]….appears to be on a sustainable path for quite a long time, but even using an optimal depletion rate and starting with a very small number of Elites, the Elites eventually consume too much, resulting in a famine among Commoners that eventually causes the collapse of society…Another scenario focuses on the role of continued resource exploitation, finding that “with a larger depletion rate, the decline of the Commoners occurs faster, while the Elites are still thriving, but eventually the Commoners collapse completely, followed by the Elites…In both scenarios, Elite wealth monopolies mean that they are buffered from the most “detrimental effects of the environmental collapse until much later than the Commoners”, allowing them to “continue ‘business as usual’ despite the impending catastrophe.” The same mechanism, they argue, could explain how “historical collapses were allowed to occur by elites who appear to be oblivious to the catastrophic trajectory (most clearly apparent in the Roman and Mayan cases).”
"The Fall of Rome" by Thomas Cole

“The Fall of Rome” by Thomas Cole

Does anyone here see the problem?
Who are most of the decision-makers? The Elites.
Who allows this business-as-usual outlook, even if they know they are next on the chopping block?
The Elites.
What’s the only difference between Elites and Commoners, given they both eventually share the same fate?
Time (by way of money). One gets hit earlier than the other but they both end up in shit creek.

It’s nothing new and the conspiracy research community has been talking about global Elites for years now. Yet when they do it, they are considered a joke yet when NASA says it, it’s suddenly legitimate.
Double-standard aside, the biggest culprit in all of this is energy and resource usage. Some might say overpopulation but I disagree. The poor may take up more space physically but they use and consume less stuff. Their energy footprint is far less than the billionaire who uses his Gulfstream jet on a regular basis and his tiger-wife’s addiction to expensive handbags made out of exotic animal skins who insists on flying into Paris for lunch at Chez L’Ami Louis. Problem is, thanks to marketers and their ilk, the poor, the lower middle class, the middle class and the upper middle class all eventually want to do the same thing as well now. That’s where the problem lies.
Marketers would like all of you to think that you too can live this life.

Marketers would like all of you to think that you too can live this life.

I think upbringing and the ability to think fiercely on your own terms has a lot to do with not falling into the trap. Here is where I think parents these days fall by the wayside. I’m not a parent, and until I cross that bridge, I won’t understand the pressures they are under but I really, truly feel sorry for children these days.
I can barely make the kid out from all the toys!

I can barely make the kid out from all the toys!

Like I wrote before, kids aren’t allowed to be kids anymore. They are being robbed of their childhood. They’re now conditioned to become consumers and prepare to join the market economy from a terrifyingly younger and younger age now thanks to creepy clowns peddling hamburgers and stick-thin soulless blonde dolls trumpeting the Malibu lifestyle. It becomes a life-long habit from that point on.
Poor kid!

Poor kid!

It’s not just buying stuff. It’s trying stuff out as well since experiences are now marketed as consumer-based and for sale. I see kids coming in at the hospital becoming sexually active at younger and younger ages when they don’t have the emotional and spiritual maturity to handle sex yet (but hey, sex sells, so what’s the problem, right?). By the time they’re about to graduate secondary school, I don’t see that spark in their eye anymore. It’s like the light went out somewhere…. That listless energy they give off reminds of that Beatles-esque song by 1980’s alternative goth gods Love and Rockets, “All in my Mind”

Walk around so cold so cold and lonely
Or lay in bed wondering what to do with time
You’ve got no sense of fun until you know you’ve won again
And yet you feel so much you feel so much inside.

You want to rip off the jewels off all the idiots backs so badly.
You scream give me what I’ve always missed, give me a good time.
But if you look into your mirror you’ll see that nobody
Has ever ripped you off  it’s all in your mind

Her beauty can only ever be skin deep
But if I’m honest that’s all I ever really need

So throw us some flowers and we’ll give you some songs and sunshine
And if you give me an hour I’ll show you how you feel.

———————————————————————————
“During their early years, children are in touch with invisible beings; they smile at these beings and have conversations with them, listening to them and replying. But when they speak about it to grown-ups, especially their parents, they are ignored or asked to be quiet and stop making things up. And yet, if they were willing to listen to the children’s tales and if they questioned them, amazing things would be revealed to them. They are depriving themselves of something very precious. It may not be true in every case, but some children bring with them memories of distant times when people thought of nature as a living organism with which they were in constant communication. This memory generally survives until the age of seven; then it fades as they grow older, but also because of their education and the language and attitude of grown-ups. Later on they even laugh when they think back on their childishness, believing it was only the product of their imagination; yet it was actually the vestiges of a past time imprinted on their soul, and it is a pity they allow it to fade. Instead, are there many adults who are truly concerned about helping young people become clear-sighted, balanced and strong? No, a great many of them are on the lookout for that which can seduce children and adolescents whose instincts and desires are awakening, and they hasten to satisfy their every whim! It begins with toys and then continues with all sorts of objects or activities which are completely useless or even harmful. Young people would themselves have no idea of such things unless they saw them displayed everywhere in shop windows and promoted by advertising. These people are guilty of leading young people into error. First of all, they elicit material needs in the young which they cannot satisfy, which not only leads to frustration, but to the desire to obtain dishonestly what they cannot obtain honestly. Then, by trying to convince them that they absolutely need these objects and activities in order to feel well and happy, they turn them away from the true search for happiness and the meaning of life. These people should not be surprised if one day they have to suffer from the criminal behaviour which they have helped to create and nurture in others.”

In Praise of Common Decency

"Ashram" by Russian artist and mystic Nicholas Roerich

“Ashram” by Russian artist and mystic Nicholas Roerich

“It is natural to appreciate men and women for the gifts they possess. Whether they are writers, artists, scientists or even athletes, one cannot but marvel at their talents and sometimes even their genius. But is this any reason to neglect their moral qualities? Are they good, fair, honest, and generous? Often this consideration is secondary, and it is only talent that people notice. It is talent that everyone tries to cultivate, since; it is for this that people are so highly esteemed. This is why the earth is now populated with capable, talented people. It is incredible, there are swarms of them, but why are all these abilities, all these talents, all these geniuses unable to save the world? On the contrary, it could even be said that they are contributing to its destruction! We often hear people say: ‘Ah! He is so gifted; he has so many abilities that he can be forgiven everything!’ Well, this is very bad reasoning. Someone who is particularly favoured by nature must, on the contrary, make great efforts to uphold, to crown his gifts and talents with moral qualities. Otherwise, instead of becoming what he should be, a benefactor of humanity, he behaves like a thief! Many people tend to believe that the fame and fortune they have achieved are a justification for their way of doing things. Since up until now they have been successful, it must mean that they were in the right, and they can continue to impose their own views and their own decisions on everyone else. What an illusion! Material success is no proof of their good judgement. On the contrary, wisdom should make them more prudent – and also those who admire them, those who stand by and exclaim: ‘It is extraordinary! What activity; what energy!’ They say that such people are afraid of nothing. But to be afraid of nothing does not demonstrate the virtue we call faith, but rather that which we know as presumption. And not only do the presumptuous eventually take a fall, but – as history has shown us time and again – they drag others down with them!”

Eleven prominent bankers have committed suicide in the last 3 months.

Under normal circumstances, you could easily dismiss it as either a spate of bad luck or unfortunate coincidence but since I have a naturally suspicious outlook on things, I think the timing is extremely eerie. Not unlike the number of bankers who killed themselves in the immediate aftermath of the start of the Great Depression of 1929, things literally did not start to look up economically until after World War II in 1945.

depression-headlines

War, unfortunately has always been the economic engine which keeps things humming along. I have a feeling those bankers saw the writing on the wall and decided to do themselves in and I DON’T find it coincidental in the least that suddenly the war drums are drumming vis-a-vis Russia over the whole issue of Ukraine and the Crimea.

In short, they are using war to save the economy. Again.

war-is-money

If Crimea goes the way the US wants it, Venezuela will be next on the hit-list and after that…well… the list is pretty obvious by now, no?

I like this Aivanhov quote because it shows up the real stupidity behind politicians, industrialists, businessmen, bureaucrats, technocrats, professors as well as many mainstream artists and performers. In short, just about every acting party who is part of this reality hack. True, they may very well be the smartest minds in the room, and usually coupled with charisma, talent and good looks, that makes for a potent and heady mix, but not a single one of them, for all their knowledge and talent ever demonstrates any selfless kindness, wisdom and above all, humility which is the level where the real problem-solving will happen.

Public 'intellectual" and political commentator Niall Ferguson is a right-wing, imperialist apologist. Watch him closely.

Public “intellectual” and political commentator Niall Ferguson is a right-wing, imperialist apologist. Watch him closely.

When someone does, you never hear about it, mostly because I think we live in a world where those aforementioned qualities are not celebrated and therefore doesn’t sell print or generate hits and internet revenue. There’s no place for wisdom and humility when you’re on a world stage which is all about ego, vanity and control.

Some of you may laugh at me or dismiss me as a flake for following the lives of old Hollywood actors and rock musicians like I do, but I have found that there are many lessons in examining some of those lives.

You know. There is something to be said for aging gracefully...

You know. There is something to be said for aging gracefully…

It’s no secret to my regular readers that I intensely dislike Madonna. True, she is an extremely shrewd business-woman and she has achieved more than any of us ever will in our lives with respect to the music she has made, the revenue she has generated, the number of albums she has sold and how she was one of the first artists to publicly embrace the LGBT community.  However, I find her to be an ugly human being. It’s her character. Her calculating nature, arrogance, attention-whoring and unending vanity which does it in for me.

doriangray1

Whenever I look at her, all I can ever think about is Oscar Wilde’s book, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” where Dorian makes a deal with the devil and stays eternally beautiful and youthful on the outside, all the while committing heinous acts. Meanwhile a true image of him hidden away, shows up his real reflection and visage, aging and becoming the beast-like character that he really is. It’s not *just* Madonna, practically everyone in the public eye is like that, particularly in professions like politics, sports and entertainment.

On the other hand,  there are a handful of artists who I’ve noticed seem to become better and better at their craft as they age, and in some cases, even become more beautiful and graceful (minus plastic surgery) and about whom I’ve never heard bad stories or gossip.

They may not have been the smartest, most talented or even the most good-looking persons but they often demonstrated kindness, humor, wisdom and generosity. They usually led low-key lives, didn’t seek the limelight too much, and seemed to be very happy in their personal lives.

I think of Audrey Hepburn,

James Stewart…

It wasn't until he was way past his prime, could James Stewart play psychologically complex characters and pull them off fantastically, like Scottie Ferguson in "Vertigo", recently voted the best film of all time.

I don’t understand why people don’t talk about and celebrate common sense and common decency more often. I think if the general culture was infused with more of those qualities and made THAT the new normal, we’d have less to worry about in places like the Crimea and Venezuela and it would expose these narcissistic power hungry freaks in Washington DC, Brussels and London for who they are to everyone.

Intro: A Baptism of Fire

shawshank1

Tim Robbins after his escape from prison in “The Shawshank Redemption”

To those of you who don’t know me personally, there was a time when I was a spiritual caregiver at a very busy hospital in a very violent city in the United States. Once upon a time they used to call it pastoral care or chaplaincy but since the term “pastoral” has a very Christian connotation to it, they decided to call  it spiritual care-giving instead in order to be more inclusive of other faith traditions and paths.

chaplaincy3
To call it a baptism of fire would be an understatement.
It was life and death literally every day. Dealing with the living who will shortly die either through cancer, HIV-related illnesses, or dealing with family members of those who died too quickly and too violently in the trauma bay, mostly through gun-shot wounds or drug-related violence. It also meant dealing with life, women giving birth under complicated situations, people who were struggling to live and for me, being present in the midst of that struggle and trying to overcome my own discomfort and projection in some of those situations, never mind how troubling or traumatic those situations could be.
20120520
Sometimes it meant visiting patients the night before an important surgery and talking with them long into the night or it could mean just simply holding someone’s hand and say nothing at all. At times it meant accompanying shocked parents to the hospital morgue in order identify the body of a son who had died due to a bullet wound. At other times it meant being asked to be in the birthing room because a troubled teenager asked me to be there with her because no one else would. Sometimes, it just meant praying with someone, even a prayer from a completely different tradition from my own but it was one they wanted and needed to have repeated.
emotional-intelligence
There’s nothing New Age or conspiracy-related about these stories but I’ve sat on them for over 10 years now and I think it’s time to let them go. I’m sharing them because if through reading them, it can help someone, anyone learn about emotional intelligence, and how to connect to others on that level, even through some of my own mistakes and biases which I’ve documented…well that would be something. All too often in the “spiritual” scene, there’s plenty of talk about energies, frequencies and putting our thoughts and words into actions and deeds but very little about that intermediate stage between the physical and spiritual, namely the emotional, and honestly, that’s the real connector which many people forget about. How do you begin to resonate with another human being, so different from you and yet, still remain you? How do you reach another person whose beliefs may be so different from your own despite our own common humanity?
Emotional-Intelligence-Mind-Map-Nitya-Wakhlu
So the next few weeks, I’ll be posting the reports of my various encounters I had in the hospital wards. There’s nothing magical, yogic or supernatural about them so apologies in advance to my conspiracy-based or yoga-based readers. Sometimes they will be emotionally heavy to read  so I’ll completely understand if I lose a few readers along the way. But that’s Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and ACPE certification for you. There’s nothing light and fluffy or easy about the hospital wards where real human suffering is taking place. And even if that suffering is personal, the origins of much of that same suffering has to do with the world out there we are all living in, in a political and socio-economic reality which drives people to take desperate measures in their own lives or with the lives of others. All the stories are true, but the names have been changed to protect their identities.

Ode to an Ancient Land

This was posted today at Philosopher’s Stone’s UK blog written by activist Julian Rose. I’m posting it here in its original entirety but I’ve added the visuals and links. For those of you who don’t follow global weather news, the UK in recent weeks has been hit with storm after epic storm causing widespread flooding and damage, no one has ever seen anything like this. The current flooding and battering the UK has been taking is not just literal but symbolic as well.

article-2519250-19E5C42F00000578-228_964x747

(I’d only add that the message here is not only applicable to Albion/Britain/England but I’d extend it to ALL colonial and imperialistic powers, past, present and future. Karma may stay quiet for a long time but it ain’t no fool and neither is Mother Nature.)

======================================================

article-2555658-1B5BEAA700000578-412_964x636

That is maybe a rhetorical question, so I will not so much ask as state ‘England is going under’. And while that may be taken metaphorically, I mean it more actually. Great swathes of the Country are slowly drowning under a relentless rainfall that is part and parcel of an almost continuous barrage of winter storms moving in off the Atlantic Ocean.

gb-map

England sticks out into the Atlantic as if asking to be the recipient of an oceanic battering. The Country leans into the South Westerly’s as a sailor pits himself against driving wind and spray. She is an island in an Ocean, and one that is close to going under.

There are powerful karmic forces weaving their historical tentacles into this unfolding saga.

British_convoy_of_sixty-three_ships_and_all_but_eight_ships_captured_by_Spanish_and_French_under_Cordova
England once stood boldly out of this same Atlantic Ocean sending her great ships tacking across the high seas, seeking out new Continents and exploiting whatever treasures fell upon the way. Building empire across the globe in an ever-expanding push for power and glory, wealth and prestige. From this small island on the Western flank of Continental Europe, the sailing ships and crews set forth and those that returned, came with their holds crammed with the trophies of their plunder.

The Koor-hi-Noor diamond sitting on the British crown. India has repeatedly asked for it back but England keeps refusing.

The Koor-hi-Noor diamond sitting on the British crown. India has repeatedly asked for it back but England keeps refusing.

Kings and Queens applauded their exploits, planning and funding ever greater incursions into the territories they so indulgently sought to lay claim upon.

These are duplicates. the orginals, called the Elgin marbles sit in the London Museum. Again, Greece has repeatedly asked for them back and England refuses

These are duplicates. The five originals are at the Musuem of the Acropolis, the sixth was looted by Lord Elgin. The Elgin Marbles sit in the British Museum. Again, Greece has repeatedly asked for them back and England keeps refusing

Invasion was followed by conquest. Conquest by slavery. Slavery by the rule of Westminster and the Palace. Rule imposed for the ever greater enrichment of the coffers of the State, its barons and hierarchical elite.

Hierarchy

Soon England no longer depended for nourishment upon her own fertile lands and artisan skills. The peasant farmers were pushed unceremoniously off the land as Empire became the new provider and the landless British worker was yoked to the production line, becoming a tool for mass produced exports to newly conquered lands.

Hartmann_Maschinenhalle_1868_(01)

The demise of the British Isles was well underway even as its industrial revolution ground down the last native skills and seasonal rituals of a once bucolic countryside.

A_012_TresRichesHeuresBerry

Now the barley barons and kings of industry reigned over our colonial wealth-bolstered island. While, almost unnoticed, the newly instated merchant banker moved deftly into the wheel house so as to decisively lay his hand upon the course of history and build a money empire to match, and eventually overtake, the acquisitions of the colonies.

world13

The City of London soon stood solid and arrogant – the power house of this vast Empire.
And while the British initiated slave trade was finally banned by an act of parliament, the British people took on the mantle of slavery, bowing to the new citadel whose tentacles reached out into great swathes of colonial wealth – and steadily drank it dry.

Oh England, my England, so where is your soul today?

Illustration of King Arthur by Howard Pyle

Two World wars then tore the last of your subtle spirit from its sanctuary of rolling hills and valleys where once King Arthur ventured on his mystic journey and Druid tribals camped among the ancient oaks and standing stones.

Where to now old island?

Now that the foolish men in dark suits shout their pathetic schoolboy jibes to and fro across the floor of what was once a shrine to an idea called democracy.

Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron is seen addressing the House of Commons in this still image taken from video in London

Prime Minister David Cameron, standing and deputy PM Nick Clegg asleep at the wheel and the rest of the old boys club of England. Where’s the Grand
Poo-bah?

Now that the macadam motorway and sterile hypermarket have vanquished the ox cart’s winding track and breezy market stall – where to now?

4935394

Now that the spirits and devas are driven from the edge of once pristine tinkling streams, and enchanted copses have met their fate at the hand of the brutal chain-saw. Where to now?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now it is your turn to be on the receiving end. The crimes of your past are catching-up with you, dear England. The arrogance and greed of your masters could not go unnoticed – could not pass-by unatoned for. Nor could the pacifistic stance taken by the greater populous when confronted with such frequent acts of national and international vandalism.
The karmic retribution could not be stalled forever.

Prepare your arks all those who can read the signs. Prepare yourselves for the deluge –whose first ferocious swathes are already upon the land.

Head for the hills and higher climbs and take simple tools to prepare the ground. A great cleansing is upon this island; a cleansing that will jolt befuddled minds into memories of great stories of other eras, when lands were swallowed by mighty acts of nature.

And yes, nature it is that once again rises up in defiance of all attempts to bring her under the control of those who would use and abuse her for their private wealth and make of her a platform for staging their profit driven foreign wars.

image

This oh so British ‘civilization’, once so proud to lead the way in matters of conquest, was always bound at some point to receive its retribution. So proud to turn away from nature and forge its industrial steel into the wheels of the brave new world of mass consumerism.
A world that left behind it all gentle arts that nature had so diligently taught.

But such is She that no man can turn his back for long upon Her simmering powers. No man can lay claim to having pacified and sold Her soul – because passivity was not on Her agenda, and Her soul was never for sale. And those who sought to profit from Her bounty will soon leave empty handed; for that time, prophesied of old, has finally come.

Not even the vicious technologically engineered destruction of our climate can suppress the rising winds of change that are upon this scarred and battered jewel called Earth. It can only increase their velocity.

So look now upon the rising waters and know what they are. Few Countries will escape the fever that’s upon this World. A fever for which the only cure is the unconditional metamorphosis of man himself, washed through and through, cleansed of that reckless hubris which has brought us to this tipping point.

The tide is turning upon mankind – and this England which juts out into the rising stormy ocean to her West, will shoulder a heavy price for its blinkered, stubborn occupants, who for so long turned a blind eye on deeper truths and refused to look upon the blood encrusted pages of colonial history.

Go under then.

But when the great healing is finally done and the storms abate .. recede; rise again oh beautiful island, greet the coming dawn in vivid celebration of all that’s sacred, true, profound. Set forth your green and glorious valleys once more, so the animals may step out once again, two by two, to greet the unmasked glory which calls to be reborn.

Valentine’s Day is for the Hard of Hearing

no_valentines_day
I really hate Valentine’s Day.
Even when I am in a relationship, I hate it.
The cheap chocolates,
chocolate_hearts
The tacky red and pink hearts everywhere,
Valentines-Cupcakes-Spinkle-Jello
The way restaurants, spas and hotels deliberately boost their prices that week and the way my local wine outlet mysteriously has no sales going on that week.
I find the whole thing to be contrived and another stupid scam to convince people to buy stuff they don’t really need in order to “show someone you care.”
And to the Corporate Man behind all this, I say, “Fuck you.”
Seriously, you know how you show someone you care?
First of all, it’s not just about February 14th. It’s not a date on the calendar. It’s a state of mind.
february_14_valentines_day_calendar
It’s not by buying cheap heart-shaped Hershey chocolates wrapped in red tin foil.
It’s by just being a friend and being present for them when they need you.
WoodstockPerfectFriend
It’s by taking him out for a few rounds of pool when you know he’s had a bad day and not badger him with questions until he’s ready to talk about it.
image001-(6)
It’s by secretly sowing seeds for wild violets all over the yard so come springtime, she’s in for a surprise. Why? Because she mentioned that violets are her favorite flower while you both were on a weekend drive last summer.
yaddo
It’s not by buying some generic cookie-cutter diamond ring. It’s by boning up on Art Nouveau/Art Deco because you found “Art Nouveau/Art Deco Jewelry” one day on your Google search bar.
It’s by wishing him an awesome time if he decides to go to the pro-sports game with his buddies, even if you hate pro-sports yourself.
maxresdefault
In short, it’s about PAYING ATTENTION AND LISTENING.
That’s how you show someone you care. Seriously, the biggest turn-off there is, is being with someone who isn’t paying any attention to you, doesn’t really hear anything you say because they’re too involved in themselves and too busy listening to the internal dialogue going on in their own minds and too busy figuring out what they want without a moment’s consideration of what you may really want or need. I think people forget relationships are two-lane roads.
 boy-girl-xbox
It’s not just Valentine’s Day either. It’s dating and relationships in general as well.
Even if you’re not interested, there are people who can’t seem to pick up a clue. I’ve tried online dating in the past with mixed results. The biggest problem is that (and I’m writing from a female perspective) men don’t really read profiles. They look at pictures, think you’re half-decent looking and send mini messages like “Hi” and clearly did not demonstrate that they even remotely paid any attention whatsoever to what you wrote.
You can write “No kids” and a balding divorcee saddled in alimony debt with three kids suddenly pops on your screen. (If he doesn’t pay any attention to what you wrote on your online profile, do you really think he’s going to pay any genuine attention to you in real life?….)
This video has  many examples of this type of self-delusion or one-way hearing:

Even if you do decide to take the risk and meet someone for coffee, they still don’t get it. One time I met someone and it was pretty clear from my profile I’m not into “Casual Encounters”. We met for coffee for a quick 30 minute meet’n greet to suss each other out, found out we had a lot in common, nice guy, pretty good-looking, interesting but no personal chemistry whatsoever but I could see this person becoming a friend. We exchanged a couple of emails sharing information based on the topics we talked about when we met, mostly about music. There was no discussion of anything even remotely intimate or physical.
Not even three days later, I suddenly get a phone call AND a text message at 2:38am. I had my ringer off because I actually have a job I have to go to and need to wake up early for so I slept right through it but in the morning when I saw the messages, it was fairly obvious dude expected a late-night booty call. He tried calling first and since I didn’t answer, he then sent a text message asking “to make plans” for the next evening.
Really?
At 2:38am?
In the middle of the week?
Can’t “making plans for the next evening” wait until the morning?
Clearly not.
super_funny_hilarious_pictures_crazy_fun_laughing_idiots-4238
This is what I mean about not listening properly.
Dude did not “hear” that that there was no chemistry on my side.
Dude was too involved with his hormones to really understand that not everyone is on the same page as he is.
Dude just naturally assumed that because he wanted something from me, I would therefore just as naturally and automatically want the same thing from him too and that just wasn’t the case. He assumed too much and he blew it. We could have been friends. Who knows? Maybe he would have gotten that booty call later on if the friendship eventually caught on fire in the fullness of time. We’ll never know and I don’t care.
That’s one thing I love about getting older, you start seeing through people much better and much faster.

This Valentine’s Day, I’m going for a session of ear candling, to improve my hearing.
I wish more people would do the same.

Go with The Flow

Surely, We have sent revelation to thee, as We sent revelation to Noah and the Prophets after him; and We sent revelation to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and his children and to Jesus and Job and Jonah and Aaron and Solomon, and We gave David a Book. We sent some Messengers whom We have already mentioned to thee and some Messengers whom We have not mentioned to thee …” (Koran, Ch.4 v.164, 165)

“Verily, We have sent thee with the truth, as a bearer of glad tidings and as a Warner; and there is no people to whom a Warner has not been sent.” (Koran, Ch.35 v.25″)

I have to admit that I actually don’t have a lot of other Bengali/Indian/Pakistani  Muslim friends.
While I did grow up in a largely non-orthodox Muslim household, being Bengali meant that many of my parents’ close friends were and are Hindu, and it meant absolutely nothing out of the ordinary for us to go over to their homes for various Puja celebrations or having them come over to our place for Ramadan
Breaking the Ramadan fast

Breaking the Ramadan fast

That’s not always the norm in many Bengali Muslim homes. In fact, there was anti-Hindu bigotry right in my own family. Several of my more “hard-core Muslim” uncles would forbid their kids (i.e my cousins) to play with us because they feared our family would have a “bad influence on them”.
Just cause a girl wears shorts, does that make them a "bad influence"?

Just because a girl wears shorts, does that make them a “bad influence”?

The sources of that bigotry are many and it easy to see why so many hard feelings developed over the course of time. The British effectively ruled India by pitting Muslims and Hindus against each from Day 1. Divide and rule was official policy. While the British were there, preferential treatment was given to Muslims because it was an Abrahamic religion they could relate to, hence why Muslims got the choicest jobs and opportunities. When the British left, the tables were completely turned around, communal fighting broke out all over India, Muslims were discriminated against and Hindus went to the top of the power structure.

This is an excellent video about Partition, about how India and Pakistan were formed after British rule. While the video talks about what was happening on the Western front, please bear in mind the atrocities were also happening on the eastern front, namely West Bengal and East Bengal (—> which became East Pakistan and then finally, Bangladesh).

I bring up the quotes from the Koran because, really what those quotes are saying is that named and unnamed prophets, teachers, seers, sages, wise and holy men and women have been sent to all people of this world, every creed, every color, of all lands, at all times and that Muslims are to revere and respect them all, no exceptions. This includes First Nations Elders, Australian Aboriginal Elders, Mongolian shamans,  Buddhist bodhisattvas, Gnostic Christian spiritual masters and anyone else who has genuine spiritual insight and can teach us all to become better human beings with wisdom and grace.
 KW_FeaturedIMages_Hopi
This sense of inclusiveness and plurality is unfortunately missing with many of the Muslims I grew up with and knew (which would probably explain why I don’t get along with many of them).  Rather, a certain rigidity in outlook, a sanctimoniousness and belief has set in and with the money from Saudi being poured into the rest of the Muslim world.  It has unfortunately meant that Wahhabi Islam, an extremely puritanical, minor, rigid and monolithic form of Islam native to Saudi Arabia is also spreading. It’s a “Live by the Sword – Die by the Sword” form of Islam which in my opinion,  is completely against life and sucks royally and anyone with even half a functioning brain would be wise to run away from.
These guys and their ideology DO NOT represent all Muslims

These guys and their ideology DO NOT represent all Muslims

What’s also happening is that very poor, migrant workers from countries like Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan are going to the United Arab Emirates to work as cheap laborers for construction companies.
Many of them are illiterate, not educated and completely ignorant about the history of their own countries, cultures and religions. Many of them don’t realize that there was a history in those areas long before the introduction of Islam. They see the vulgar wealth in the UAE and it’s then very easy to develop an inferiority complex in the face of that wealth and power especially in contrast to what they saw and lived through back home. What then happens is that they start using Islam and faux-piety as a form of showing up who is “more Muslim” and then that Wahhabi Islam then becomes something worth emulating, copying and spreading.

If you went to Bangladesh in the 1970s and 1980s, you would never see a burqa or hijab on the streets. Women were always in saris and salwar kameez and were considered decently dressed according to Islamic norms.
saree_group
You go to Bangladesh now, and hijabs and burqas are everywhere. When I talk to my Turkish friends, they say the same thing is also happening in Turkey.
This is NOT the way it used to be.

This is NOT the way it used to be.

It’s not just dress that’s being affected.
Take for instance female genital mutilation which is NOT an Islamic practice, but one rather which is from  sub-Saharan Africa and became incorporated into those cultures, primarily Somali and Eritrean. When Islam was introduced to those areas, cultural and religious practices became fused and suddenly it was an “Islamic” practice. Now the practice is being exported to other countries like Malaysia under the guise of “Islam” when it has exactly zero to do with Islam.
Female-circumcision-006
This is my biggest axe to grind with many in the South East Asian Muslim community. Nobody flippin’ questions or investigates anything. They just internalize whatever their parents and grandparents told them and that’s it. I remember once having a conversation with one of my cousins’ husband. Dude has a PhD in Biochemistry so he’s not exactly dumb. However, he is from the village in Bangladesh, was extremely bright, did well in school, got full scholarship and landed in the USA and completed graduate work there. We were discussing the very Koranic verses I cited above and hence why I read so much about other traditions. His response is that was “you don’t need to understand Buddhism. You don’t need it. Who cares?”
6a00d83451bd1369e2017d3de2b8c6970c
It was a repudiation of Buddhism. It was a mechanical, pragmatic way of looking at the world and a deliberate method to staying ignorant and comfortable in a narrow worldview represented by his upbringing and socialization. It was also a slap in the face to my world view which is expansive and inclusive. (I should add, I can’t stand the guy and neither does most of my family.)
It’s not just Muslims who are like this. I mean we can point the finger at the Christian Right in the United States or Hindu radicals in India. That rigidity is everywhere. My only wish is that people everywhere become more fluid and accepting, like a stream or a river.
Afterall, isn’t it the Chinese who believe that water is the strongest element, capable of changing the earth itself?

White Magick play

Great book and fun read!

Great book and fun read!

It should come as no surprise to regular readers of my blog, that I was a pretty geeky kid and one who normally had my nose buried deep within a book most of the time. I was lucky enough to grow up in a neighborhood which has a municipal library which has the highest per capita use in all of Canada outside of a university, which meant their collection was excellent and I had access to some pretty nifty books from the get-go.

Stewart Hall Library and Cultural Center. Someone donated this mansion to the city and it has been a public library for over 50 years now. Amazing reading rooms.

Stewart Hall Library and Cultural Center    Someone donated this mansion to the city and it has been a public library for over 50 years now. Amazing reading rooms.

One book I remember vividly reading and enjoying  was “The Active Enzyme Lemon Freshened Junior High School Witch”. This was the early 1980s when I was in elementary school and many young people’s books from the 1970s were still on the shelves and one of the biggest trends during the 1970s was the introduction of some occult and supernatural ideas into children’s movies (i.e Freaky Friday) and children’s literature.
John William Waterhouse's painting "The Crystal Ball"

John William Waterhouse’s painting “The Crystal Ball”

I think it was after reading the aforementioned book which kicked off my interest in spell-casting and ritual. If you really sit down and think about it, practically anything and everything can be deemed as spell-casting and ritual whether it’s the Catholic Solemn Mass or watching a goat having its throat slit during Kurbani on a cold Quebec farm (which I had to watch my uncle do several times as a kid), for the Islamic festival of Sacrifice. Formal religion sanctions some rituals and then deems others as abhorrent because it doesn’t jive with its own theology. Kurbani might freak out some Hindus but then the idea of ingesting someone’s blood and flesh, even in symbolic form, during the High Mass may freak out some Muslims. It’s all relative and highly, highly subjective to cultural and religious norms.
You do realize, that this is a form of spell-casting as well, right?

You do realize, that this is a form of spell-casting as well, right?

To me, all types of rituals are nothing more than a different form of prayer and/or meditation. Some people can sit still for hours and meditate on emptiness or on a statue of a fat Buddha or hold a yoga pose for hours.
tumblr_mj458tB8v91r4p4ago1_500
Other people are twitchier than that and need the use of props and ritual to ground themselves and find it easier that way to find that quiet place in themselves.
It all really boils down to intention.
What are you really doing this for?
Is it for yourself, so that you can become richer, better-looking and happier or is it for others?
I bring up the topic of rituals and spell-casting because of some strange events of late. The Satanic New Year is coming up on February 1 and apparently a vial of Pope John Paul II’s blood has been stolen. It is suspected that Satanists are involved according to Italian authorities.
A vial of his blood has been stolen. Strange timing.

A vial of his blood has been stolen. Strange timing.

Also last week’s Grammy performance by Katy Perry did not help matters. The conspiracy research websites and boards are going crazy over what Katy Perry and Beyoncé were up to. Katy Perry in essence recreated a Black Witch’s Sabbath which led to Christian singer and nominee Natalie Grant walking out of the show. Many parents got hot and bothered by Beyoncé’s performance. (IMHO, her performance was all about selling crack, nothing more.)
Beyonce at the Grammys

Beyonce at the Grammys

I don’t have a doubt that there are evil things walking this earth. I watched this documentary yesterday from Vice TV on the “World Most Dangerous Drug”,   scopolamine,   which also has the ominous name of “Devil’s Breath” from Columbia. It has the ability to render people to lose all memory, while remaining conscious and becoming docile and submissive. In other words you start taking orders from others and don’t look drunk or passed out so no one suspects anything. Already horror stories of people getting drugged at clubs and waking up the next morning and missing an organ or finding themselves brutally raped and their homes cleaned out by thieves or having their bank accounts and credit card limits cleared out abound.
The moment we lose our free will is the moment we will lose our humanity. If this drug is a harbinger of things to come and Heaven forbid, leaves Columbia and spreads to major metropolitan areas around the world and governments start using it, you know we will be up the creek without a paddle in sight.
Is Your B2B Demand Generation Program Up The $!@& Without a Paddle
It’s not all bad even if we live in a world which is increasingly focused on the self and nothing else and forget that there are people who are far more selfless than we can imagine. Take for instance aging old Catholic nuns, fewer and fewer each year, who do nothing but pray for the salvation of the world in lonely, isolated convents the world over. That counts for something in my book.
Rose_of_Jericho
Lately, I’ve been reading up on the works of Judika Illes and have been working with some of the spells, particularly with a plant called the Rose of Jericho aka the Resurrection Plant. The plant is originally from the Mexican desert and has that name because of its ability to wither down and then when submerged under water, to become green again. Rose of Jericho water is also considered a powerful talisman and the plant medicine is used to help bring luck, grace and to help revive things back to life. It is a POSITIVE medicine and it cannot be used for anything bad. If you try, it won’t work. Simple as that.
If a plant could sing, I’m sure the Rose of Jericho’s anthem would be from my favorite 1970s band, Electric Light Orchestra’s “Shine a Little Love”
“You Shine a little love on my life
You Shine a little love on my life
You Shine a little love on my life and let me see”

Racism and the Occult

I don’t know if any of you have read this recent article from Salon.com about how some occult teachings influenced  neo-conservative saint, the former American President Ronald Reagan.
ronald_reagan_ranch-620x412
For the record, I couldn’t stand the guy. I thought there was something smarmy about him, to say nothing of the way he bloodily interfered with Central America, Libya, Grenada and Panama. Conservatives these days deify him for “ending the Cold War” when  Mikhail Gorbachev  had a lot to do with it as well.
Reagan was also quite a fascist. When students sat in The People’s Park in Berkeley, California during the 1969 student demonstrations, Reagan (who was then state governor) had state troopers sent in to make sure they got the message to leave. He cut funding to all mental health institutions and hospitals and kicked out all the patients, which increased homeless numbers dramatically in cities like Washington D.C.  The list of things he did which hurt people as opposed to helping them goes on and on.
You can thank ole Ronnie for this....

You can thank ole Ronnie for this….

Anyway, it turns out Reagan’s “sunny optimism” of America, as the Land of Destiny with some mysterious mission for humanity has its origins in the writings of noted occultist Manly Palmer Hall.
Hall, wrote his magnum opus “The Secret Teachings of all Ages”  at the age of 27 and went on to found the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles, a hot-bed and library for New Age thinkers and influenced practically every single flaky Californian New Age/New Thought writer from North America for decades afterwards including Linda Goodman and more recently, Kathleen McGowan-Coppens.
Manly Palmer Hall. Does this look like a happy, wise man to you? (Is dude wearing eyeliner?)

Manly Palmer Hall. Does this look like a happy, wise man to you? (Is dude wearing eyeliner?)

The gist of Hall’s “vision” of America is this: America is the New Atlantis, the souls who are born or find themselves immigrating to North America are reincarnated Atlanteans and that Americans in particular have a sacred duty to realize that “anything is possible” (even while being female and living on minimum wage I guess) and that their own potentiality is only limited by their drive ( so in other words lack of “drive”, makes you a failure as a human being). That America is destined to live out the fate of Atlantis as it should have been, not as it was. This is what Freemasons, Rosicrucians have also been saying for ages as well. It’s nothing new. It also falls in line with the American idea of “Manifest Destiny”, an expansionist policy which they used to justify the Mexican War and expand westwards and slaughtered tribe after tribe of Native Americans to do it. (I always wondered what the Native Americans have to say or think about this bullshit since all this happened at their expense….)
"Go West young man!"

“Go West young man!”

Hall isn’t the only unconscious-bigot in spiritual literature.
Helena Blavatsky, the founder of the Theosophical Society also wrote about “root races” and how the white race were of the “fifth root race” and that the black, red, yellow and brown peoples were of inferior races.
Helena Blavatsky

Rudolf Steiner

Rudolf Steiner

Dion Fortune, even as gifted a writer and occultist as she was, also had the tinge of bigotry in some of her writings which even contemporary occultists like Judika Iles have noted. Fortune was convinced the Western Esoteric tradition was far superior to the “mysticism of Asia”, never mind the fact that ancient Greece and Egypt (the origins of “Western” mysticism ) were actually mingling with Indians, Middle Easterns, Africans and Chinese much more than historians would like you to think).
Dion Fortune

Dion Fortune

Even Linda Goodman, when she came up with Lexigrams was convinced that the supremacy of the English language was protected by language elves and Lexigrams could only be done with English names, when she literally never traveled outside the English-speaking world in her life and was completely unilingual and had no knowledge of other languages and therefore never even tried Lexigrams with other languages. Goodman even went so far as to say that the “Higher Selves” of the Native Americans agreed to die and give up the land because their Higher Selves understood the special destiny of America in her book “Star Signs”! I wonder, did the Tibetans do the same thing when the Chinese showed up?
Linda Goodman

Linda Goodman

Does anyone see a pattern here?
Hall was Canadian by birth and became American by choice, Blavatsky was Russian, Steiner was German, Fortune was British and they all were writing during the tail-end of the colonial and imperial age of Europe, namely the late 19th to mid 20th century when racist and condescending attitudes towards “conquered colonies and peoples” were prevalent and socially acceptable.
Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins in "Howard's End" based on E. M Forster's book about Edwardians at the height of British imperial power.

Emma Thompson and Anthony Hopkins in “Howard’s End” based on E. M Forster’s book about Edwardians at the height of British imperial power.

Because Europe and North America was awash in wealth from the colonies, this exaggerated their sense of entitlement and sense of identity, that Fate had something special which was destined for them and them alone, (how else could they be so affluent if it weren’t for Fate giving it to them?) was everywhere and it petered down even into spiritual writings. From there it starts to influence the Ronald Reagans of this world and becomes a “spiritual” excuse for Anglo-American European supremacy.
Scene from "A Passage to India" another E.M Forster book which showed the other side of British rule and what happens to Indians who get stuck on the wrong side.

Scene from “A Passage to India” another E.M Forster book-turned-film which showed the other side of British rule and what happens to Indians who get stuck on the wrong side.

So when you get a Ronald Reagan-type  showing up and spouting this gibberish about America’s date with destiny (or any other American president talking about “American exceptionalism”) or some groups talking about being “The Chosen People”, automatically your antennas should be going up.
gorgojo4
Why is this sort of exclusionary language and groupthink dangerous?
God Made Me Special
Because when people think they’re special or better than others, they unfortunately have a nasty habit of beginning to feel entitled to anything and everything they want at any and all expense, it means that everyone else who ISN’T in that group is therefore expendable, disposable, negligible and less-worthy than…and therefore you’re allowed to treat them in ways you don’t want to be treated yourself.
And in my book that breaks the first rule of any true civilisation.

A Cluster of Convergences

Mayor Rob Ford of Toronto has admitted to using crack cocaine. Aside from becoming the butt of a slew of jokes for late night talk shows, and making Toronto an international embarrassment, the fool now refuses to leave office even after all his city councillors, the disgusted populace of Toronto AND the Executive Council in City Hall have unequivocally told him to please step down, he refuses to go.

Asshole.

Asshole.

I cite this example because this is, in my mind, of someone who got outed, someone who was and is so drunk on his sense of power and sense of entitlement, that even when the truth came out, refuses to budge and it got me wondering if this bigoted and downright low-class mayor feels he can do this, what does that say for the rest of the ruling elites of this world? I mean corrupted CEOs, dishonest politicians, royal families who live as parasites off of the hard work of others. If the revolution comes, do you think they will go, to paraphrase Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, gently into that good night?
Anti-austerity demonstrations last night in front of Buckingham Palace

Anti-austerity demonstrations last night in front of Buckingham Palace

I don’t.

In fact I think they’re going to stay and do their best to cling to whatever privileges and semblance of entitlement it was they had. There’s a reason why the revolutions in France and Russia were bloody. Maybe force was the only thing left to get rid of the old guard. Before any of you freak out on me, I’m not advocating violence at all. I think we should be smart enough at this point to find ways of making these elites disengage without resorting to violence.
No need to walk down this route again...

No need to walk down this route again…

Change is an inevitability of life. It’s easier to deal with, I find when you direct the change rather than have it imposed on you. I have a feeling that a number of very visible global changes are about to happen if not underway already. Occupy Wall Street was a distant harbinger of change. I think the tipping point was the non-invasion of Syria. Public opinion forced politicians in country after country to back off of something which was initially seen as a done deal.
This weekend, there will be a preview of the news channel, “The People’s Voice”, which David Icke and his team raised the funds for via crowd sourcing at Indiegogo. (There are already a few videos on their Youtube channel which highlight a few guests talking about their shows). If this takes off, and I have no doubt it will, given the public appetite for the truth and given how fed-up so many people are and if they manage to expose some rather unsavory truths  of the world around us through their media, then the world we see and experience today, may very well be very, very different from the one, say 5 years from now.
Noam-Chomsky
I once met the head of the Theosophical Society of America at their chapter office in Washington DC when I was living there. My Sunday ritual was to head up to Bethesda to hear their talks and one day John Algeo was there. He didn’t strike me as particularly interesting or particularly insightful fellow but he did manage to recount a story about a Freemason rite he took part  in London and how Masonic terms have come into the English language. During the lunch they offered, I managed to ask him a few questions. I got the feeling that he didn’t like me very much, maybe because I’m brown and he did come across as a very old-school WASP-y type, the old fogey kind that feels visibly uncomfortable talking to people who aren’t his “type”. It became clear to me that the Theosophical Society is a secret recruiting ground for the Freemasons, just as The Shriner’s, Kiwanis International, The Rotary Club and The Lion’s Club are. I wasn’t impressed in the least but during the course of the conversation, I said something about that there is nothing new under the Sun, to which he laughed.
Do you ever see these in your neighborhood? Note the same shape as the Freemasonic compass....

Do you ever see these in your neighborhood? Note the same shape as the Freemasonic compass….

But what happens if something new comes from beyond the Sun? As I write this,  the comet ISON is galavanting about in our solar system. It will be visible from Earth in early December. There are countless articles and videos at this point about what ISON really means and what it represents, but I find this video to be most intriguing of all and what ISON may be delivering to us not only on a physical level, but an energetic one as well.

Dishonest politicians and a rogue comet aside, there’s also the wildcard of the Fukushima nuclear power plant. It seems every day there are a slew of articles and commentary about what’s really happening there. One thing is certain: the aquatic life of the Pacific already know something abnormal is going down. There are now reports of a massive starfish die off along the North American Pacific coast from Mexico to Canada. Starfish are mysteriously becoming ill and turning into slime.

Starfish die off.

Starfish die off.

Then yesterday the CBC reported that British Columbia’s Pacific coast has recently seen an upsurge of sightings of aquatic life not native to the region including a super pod of literally 1000s of dolphins, the highly endangered right whale, sea turtles normally found in Mexico and a giant sunfish. I could be totally wrong but my personal opinion is that these mammals and fish are smart enough to sense that something is wrong, something is off with the water and are therefore getting as far away as possible from the source.

It’s definitely an interesting time to watch how these things are unfolding.

A visit to Agharta

Watch this video:

I can’t help but shake off the feeling that this lady, Jessie Roestenberg, is speaking the truth. Here’s Jessie nowadays:

Jessie Roestenberg, with a depiction of what she saw.

Jessie Roestenberg, with a depiction of what she saw.

I post this video because while I don’t think she was lying, her description of the beings she saw jives with many accounts of Agharta/Shamballa/Shangri-La. I don’t think she saw something from Outer Space, rather I think she saw something from the Inner Earth.
Now before any of you accuse me of going off the deep-end for bringing up the Hollow Earth Theory, I just want to say that for all we really know about the entire nature of this universe, and given that the Initiates who have spoken about, written about and apparently in some cases have visited Agharta, they always stress it is a part of this Earth that exists on the astral level, not the physical one.

MAPofInnerEarth

What really intrigues me most about the Agharta story/legend is that it represents a form of government and economics based on genuine spiritual principles called Synarchy, not religious ones (which is in essence a theocracy like Tibet under the Dalai Lama or Vatican City under the Pope, neither of which are worth writing home about).  I should add, the two times I met with Hopi Elder, Grandfather Martin Gashweseoma, I asked him about the Inner Earth and he told me straight up that it was a true teaching since many Hopi origin myths claim they came out of a hole somewhere in the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

What's underneath all this?

What’s underneath all this?

Given what is happening these days in the United States and how this government shut-down is really causing financial jitters around the world, how the Chinese are calling for the replacement of the American dollar as a world currency in case the US does indeed default on its loans, I find it surprising that there seems to be a business-as-usual outlook among most people.

Don't allow these goons to dictate your life. I'm positive most of you are 100 times smarter than they ever will be.

Don’t allow these goons dictate your life. I’m positive most of you are 100 times smarter than they ever will be.

I mean there’s no real problem solving here. We may replace one currency by another, one super-power by another, but the larger issues remain and the system within which these problems exist remains the same; the inequality of men, the rich getter richer, the poor getting left out, the differences between men and women, the violence against women and children, the depletion of clean air and drinking water, the threats to biodiversity, the serious disrespect towards the natural world, the extinction many animal species face, the lack of real food security, a political and economic system which rewards dishonesty, nepotism, sexism and institutionalized racism, the horrific way the elderly are ignored and forgotten, the list of what’s wrong with the world and what’s getting worse can go on indefinitely.

The quote below is a longish one I got from Aivanhov. Many times towards the end of his life, he brought up the subject of Agharta in his lectures and the quote below is a collection of everything he said on the topic. It was because of Aivanhov, I looked up and read Ferdinand Ossendowski‘s book “Beasts, Men and Gods” (which was an amazing read). Ossendowski was a Polish scientist and explorer who tried to escape the Soviets via Siberia, central Asia and Mongolia. For many years he was one of the most popular Polish writers of his time but because the Soviets were after him,  his name and his works lay forgotten but there has been a resurgence of interest in Ossendowski’s work in recent years. Ossendowski’s chapters on the King of the World and Agharta are worth the book price alone.

Ferdinand Ossendowski

Ferdinand Ossendowski

The other reference, the Marquis Alexandre Saint-Yves d’Alveydre, is another fascinating character. He was a French Initiate, mystic and occultist and wrote many books on spiritualism, esoterica, the occult and white magick. In many ways he was the male, French version of Dion Fortune, a female, English occultist (The likes of d’Alveydre and Fortune were the antithesis of Aleister Crowley. I’ll be writing soon on psychic warfare and it would seem that Fortune and Crowley were indeed the Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort of their time, especially during WWII in England when it was suspected that Nazis were using serious black magick in their war effort, particularly against Britain.)

Alexandre Saint-Yves, Marquess of Alveydre

Alexandre Saint-Yves, Marquess of Alveydre

In any case, here’s Aivanhov on Agharta and here’s to all of us striving for a better world and building a better mouse trap. And if Agartha and the Agarthans are real, have faith folks, we then have some very powerful allies on our side.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  “I have already spoken to you, many years ago, about the underground kingdom of Agharta and the fantastic civilization that has flourished there for thousands of years.  This hidden kingdom is in communication with the surface of the earth; there are openings in many different countries in the world: at the Poles, in South America, Mongolia and Tibet, and even in France, in the Pyrenees.

From time immemorial, especially in the countries of the north, there have been legends that tell of a land beyond the icy wastes of the Pole in which it is always springtime.  And, according to a tradition known to Initiatic Science, the aurora borealis is produced by very highly evolved beings who dwell in that kingdom with the light from the center of the earth.

There have been people who were aware of the existence of Agharta.  There was even a film, “Lost Horizons”, which was about Shangri-La, the land of perpetual youth.  In every country the tradition has existed and, whether in Greece, India, Egypt or elsewhere, this mysterious subterranean kingdom has given rise to belief in a land of eternal youth and happiness which has been known, sometimes, as Agharta and sometimes as the Land of the Holy Grail, Shambala, Thule, or the Garden of the Hesperides.
Today, more is being said and written about Agharta but, not so many years ago, it was virtually unknown.  A Polish writer, Ferdinand Ossendowski, published a book called “Beasts, Men and Gods” in which he recounts what he learned about Agharta in the monasteries of Tibet and Mongolia.  But it was the Marquis Saint-Yves d’Alveydre who made the most striking revelations in his book, “The Mission to India”.  Saint-Yves d’Alveydre was a writer, a scholar and an Initiate; he was capable of out-of-body travel and, in his book, he tells of how he visited and saw Agharta for himself.  He gives many extraordinary details about this subterranean kingdom, about how it is lit by a kind of internal sun, about the trees and flowers growing there and about the animals and men who live there, just as on earth.  He describes the libraries and archives which stretch for miles and which contain the whole history of the human race.  Yes, there are some amazing books there, books written by great Initiates and containing great secrets.  These books were taken away from human beings but they are still there, in Agharta, and only for those who sufficiently evolved have the right to go and read them.

Everything that has happened in the world since its beginning is recorded and preserved in these archives.  All that has disappeared from the face of the earth and that we believe to be lost to us forever, is there, in those archives.  If you wonder what some historical figure was like, this is where you will find the answer.  And you, too, are there, in miniature.  For there is a copy of every one of us and it is kept there so that we can be studied.  Every single thing that happens here is reflected in miniature in Agharta; in fact, at this very moment, the Aghartans know that I am talking about them.
Some people, who have done some research in this connection, think that the first Gypsies (or Romanies) were banished from Agharta and that it is from there that they draw their special knowledge of the Tarot, for example, which they hand on from generation to generation.

It is also believed that the Aghartans first came from Atlantis and Lemuria.  Before the continent began to submerge – some researchers put this at fifteen thousand years ago – they are said to have fled in their extraordinary machines and taken refuge in the bowels of the earth, where they built cities and settled down.

To be sure, there are all kinds of extravagant theories about Agharta, but I am not interested in knowing whether they are true or false.  What does interest me is the underlying philosophy, the principles on which this kingdom is founded and how to propagate this philosophy amongst human beings.  And what interests me above all is how to get human beings to understand that if they continue to follow their false philosophies, they will soon come to a bad end.
The kingdom of Agharta is organized and ruled with immense wisdom and its millions of inhabitants live in prosperity, peace and happiness, free from disease and old age.  Saint-Yves d’Alveydre describes this organization in detail.  At the top, he says, is a trinity of beings: the Brahâtma, the Mahâtma and the Mahanga (whom Ossendowski calls the Brahytma, Mahytma and the Mahynga).  Authority belongs to the Brahâtma, power belongs to the Mahâtma and the Mahanga is in charge of organization.  And, as the government of Agharta is patterned on that of the universe, below this supreme trinity is a group of twelve persons that reflect the twelve signs of the Zodiac; under them is a group of twenty-two, reflecting the twenty-two principles of the Logos with which God created the world, and finally, there is a group of three hundred and sixty-five, reflecting the three hundred and sixty-five days of the year, etc.
There is a tradition that after Râma had established the Golden Age on earth, he went to live in Agharta.  Many other great spirits such as Buddha, St John, even the famous alchemist, Nicholas Flamel, also went to Agharta when they left this world.

I can tell you about how the Aghartans live, how they are bom and how they understand love.  They know how precious sexual energy is, for instance, so, instead of squandering it, they use it to rise to greater heights of perfection and become divinities.  As a matter of fact, the true doctrine of Tantra-yoga, which is so widely known in Tibet and India, comes from Agharta.  Very few Westerners understand – still less practise – this form of yoga correctly.  Many of those who have tried it, in fact, have only succeeded in making themselves ill and destroying their emotional balance.  Be careful, therefore: I don’t advise you to embark on experiences in this area.  Study well, prepare yourselves, purify yourselves and, when you are ready, the extraordinary science that these beings possess will be revealed to you.
1288814454_1288501849_350
The science of the Aghartans also includes the most advanced discoveries of physics.  They are capable of seeing and controlling all that happens on earth.  In fact, if they wanted to, they could unleash the power of the four elements and wipe out the whole of humanity.  Fortunately, they are too peace-loving and much too highly evolved to do so.  It is also very likely that flying saucers, whose existence is no longer in doubt, come not from other planets but from the center of the earth via the North or South Pole.  Many observers in the Arctic and Antarctic regions have seen flying saucers coming or going in the direction of the Poles.
In any case, the Aghartans have some extraordinary means of transport and it is particularly interesting to note that it was in 1945, after the atomic bomb that wiped out Hiroshima, that they began to manifest themselves more frequently.  They come to keep an eye on us; they are concerned because they know that human beings are quite capable, in their folly, of wiping out humanity and, of course, if this happened it would also affect them.  It is possible that, within the next few years, they decide to show themselves and give human beings some messages, some warnings.  And it is also quite possible that they will take some of you back with them so that you can see the splendour of their land for yourselves before coming back to earth.  So far, none of those who have visited Agharta have ever come back.  But the Aghartans are very, very kind and generous: you need have absolutely no fear of them.  They have overcome all human weaknesses.
To be sure, quite a number of pilots have tried to pursue their flying saucers but they are surrounded by a magnetic field that makes them invulnerable: if they are pursued by a plane, they can throw out rays that make its engines cut out.  They always work with light.  Their source of power is light, and it is with this that they neutralize all hostile forces.  They apply the Initiatic rule that it is light that must be our protection against harmful elements.  Before very long, human beings will begin to discover many of their secrets.

Instead of sensing their authenticity inwardly, instead of touching them, as it were, with their soul and spirit, human beings are so over-intellectual that they prefer to wait for the verdict of science before believing even the greatest truths.  But, I repeat: sooner or later, all that I reveal to you in my lectures will be scientifically proved.  Human beings don’t trust the instruments placed in them by the Creator: they ignore them completely, preferring to wait for the verdict of an external instrument, whereas it should be just the other way round.

These people will never help you spiritually

These people will never help you spiritually

As I have said, I am interested in Agharta from a philosophical point of view, because of the pattern of organization, government and life it presents.  We, too, should work for the collectivity with the same disinterestedness and the same tireless love as the Aghartans so as to form a single family on earth, so that there shall be no more boundaries, no more war, no more poverty.
One Earth, one family, one race, one people. Oneness.

One Earth, one family, one race, one people. Oneness.

When this is achieved, the interests of individuals will be protected.  In a prosperous, healthy collectivity, each individual member also thrives, whereas, if only a handful of individuals prosper within a collectivity riddled by poverty and dissension, they will always be at risk, for their prosperity is not built on anything firm and lasting.  This is why, when we see that every individual is interested only in his own well-being and cares nothing for that of others, we can be sure, in advance, that is an unstable situation.  If human beings would only make effort to forget about themselves a little more and devote themselves to the good of the collectivity, the interests of every individual would be protected.  For the good of the individual is in the good of the whole.  This is why I keep telling you that you don’t know where your own best interest lies; your behavior proves this and, sooner or later, it will be your downfall.
There is no reason why on God's good Earth, this should even happen.

There is no reason why on God’s good Earth, this should even happen.

The life of the collectivity surrounds, dominates and rules us.  We can never be free and independent of it.  This means that you must stop trying to find a comfortable little niche for yourself because it can never be anything more than a stop-gap.  Unfortunately, human beings are still a long way from this expanded consciousness.  They are like insects: as soon as something goes wrong they scuttle off into their little hiding places thinking that they will be safe there.  Well, that is fine, it is something that we have inherited from the insects, but surely we are capable of changing just a little.
Ant_hill_hole
The solutions men need must be sought on a higher level, in the spirit, in light.  As long as they keep trying to solve their problems without that light, even the most far-reaching political and social transformations will never be truly effective for they will always contain the germ of a personal interest which runs contrary to the collective interest and which will end by contaminating all the rest.  Men must consult that eternal wisdom that the Aghartans consult and that I myself always consult, and it will show them what to do.
As it is, even the Church doesn’t consult this higher wisdom; it has substituted its own interests for the interests of the Lord.  This is why the prophecies of Fatima are so terrible for the Church.  But people no longer believe in anything; self-interest and money have priority over everything else.
In a few years from now some very important discoveries will be made.  The only question is whether there will be enough human beings capable of understanding and feeling them and putting them into effect in their lives.  It says in the Bible that everything will be revealed at the end of time.  And this time is near.  Of course, when it says ‘the end of time’, we must not imagine that it means the end of the world.  The end of the world has already been announced time and again – even the date has been specified – and people have been struck with terror and prepared to die.  And then the fateful day arrived and passed … and the world went on as usual.  Occasionally some minor upheaval occurred, but the world continued to go round.  Mankind will never completely disappear.  Human beings are tough, don’t worry!  They can survive anything.
cover-2009c
But there is no doubt that there will soon be all kinds of upheavals and changes and that it will be the end of an era.  In his book, “Beasts, Men and Gods”, Ossendowski tells of how, one evening, he was with a caravan of camels, crossing a great plain in Mongolia when, all of a sudden, everything fell silent (Saint-Yves d’Alveydre mentions the same phenomenon): men and beasts stood still, even the birds did not fly.  His guide explained that this awed silence fell over all things in nature whenever the King of the World (Melchizedek) entered the sanctuary in his subterranean palace in Agharta to pray.  Very few human beings have ever seen the King of the World but, every now and then, he has appeared on the occasion of a religious holiday and his appearance is always accompanied by great prodigies.  He has also made certain prophecies, some of which have already been realized and others of which are still to come.  Yes, the King of the World does exist and he is waiting for the right moment to manifest himself.  Also, as I have already told you, some beings from Agharta have incarnated in the world today in order to carry out the plans of the Invisible World.  Many of them are working, even now, for a true, noble world government.
Try to understand what I am telling you: above is the New Jerusalem, the Ierouschalaïm Hadascha of which St John speaks, and below is Agharta whilst we, human beings, are between the two.  When the New Jerusalem descends and Agharta rises from below, the Kingdom of God will be established amongst men.  Agharta, like the New Jerusalem, denotes the inner life.  It was to Agharta that the alchemists referred when they used the word VITRIOLUM, each letter of which is the initial letter of a word in the Latin sentence: ‘Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem Veram Medicinam’, which means, ‘Visit the bowels of the earth; rectifying you will find the hidden stone, the true medicine.’ Agharta is also this inner earth into which we must penetrate’, for man is made in the image of the universe and all that exists outside him exists, also, inside him.”

The Eye Does Not Have Permission To Own

(WARNING: Explicit and NSFW images and links included in this article)

Diana Vreeland, probably the most powerful and influential fashion editor of all time, once said that, “the eye needs to travel” especially for sources of inspiration, ideas and creativity. I would largely agree with her, but to that I would also add, that unfortunately whatever the eye sees, it also usually wants to take or own and that it takes enormous discipline to train it.

I bring up this quote because of the latest kerfuffle involving Miley Cyrus, her online fight with Sinead O’Connor, the latest video by Rihanna which leaves very little to the imagination and has feminists of all stripes and shapes in a twist.

My own opinion is that all this physical exposure is going towards the slow but inevitable complete and total ownership of the female form in the public space. Very little is left of the mystery and the power of it. Some might argue that calling your own shots in how you expose your body, with whom and within what medium is actually self-empowering. While I do think what a woman decides to do with her body, where and with whom is completely and entirely her decision, I do think that controlling the level of that mystery and privacy around your own body is even more empowering.

I don’t mean hiding female bodies behind a niqab or hijab (or nun’s habit in the West) but rather that women should be able to share the most private parts of themselves when THEY choose, that their bodies are not just a given to be shared, shown and given to any eye, like a public billboard sign.
Burqas and niqabs are the other extreme. I think it's possible to find a balance between these two extremes.

Burqas and niqabs are the other extreme. I think its possible to find a balance between these two polar extremes.

That’s largely the debate in the West however it has major implications and spill-over effects in the East and  the rest of the developing world.
India is now in the midst of an epidemic of rape.
It’s not like it never existed there. It’s always been an undercurrent of life particularly for women of low caste (check out the life of Phoolan Devi, the Bandit Queen to see what I mean) . However because of recent well-known rape cases going public and the unprecedented protests and serious soul-searching in their wake, the issue is being talked about more than ever.

Last winter 5 thugs boarded a bus and brutally raped a physiotherapy student on her way home from the cinema with her male companion. It wasn’t bad enough that they all took turns raping her, then raped her with a 4 foot long iron rod which caused such horrific internal damage that it eventually killed her. It was the fact that the gang rape lawyer representing the 2 of the men recently came out and said “If my daughter was having premarital sex and moving around at night with her boyfriend, I would have burned her alive. I would not let this situation happen. All parents should adopt such an attitude,” (This is a lawyer folks, someone with more than a high school education, living in a major urban area, the guy who is supposed to put the bad guys in jail, he’s not some toothless village hick.) While these comments and attitudes are really, truly repugnant and belong in the Stone Age as far as I’m concerned, it touches an issue few have yet broached.
Rapists' lawyer, A.P Singh = First class douche nozzle

Rapists’ lawyer, A.P Singh = First class douche nozzle

No one has really discussed this but I think these gang-rapes and the nature of how violent they have become in recent years is largely due to the prevalence of free porn on the internet.
Before the internet, Western pornography was something that circulated in the hands of very rich, discrete Indians who secretly brought them in either via the West or from Japan. Due to India’s very strict obscenity laws,  that stuff was and still is, illegal. Getting caught distributing a copy of Playboy, Penthouse or Hustler would definitely land you in jail. The culture is extremely conservative despite what Bollywood movies, posh yoga retreats, globalization, friendly call-centers and neo-liberal policies may lead you to think.
That for many men in India and in other parts of the world, there are only two types of women in the world, the kind you enjoy and the kind you marry and the two are NOT the same. So of course this creates a double standard in Indian society which continues, in much the same way we have on this side of the Earth (The “why is it a guy can sleep around and be stud but if a girl does, she’s a slut?” type of arguments). Only in India they openly admit it and don’t deny it in the least. (Check out Mira Nair’s documentary “India Cabaret” if you can if you want to pursue this topic even more.)
One of the dancers from "India Cabaret" and how she's treated by her clients.

One of the dancers from “India Cabaret” and how she’s treated by her clients.

However with the internet, any sort of access is now possible. Viewing any sort of pornography is a few keystrokes away. There are no airport security, police officers and disapproving family members and public shaming to worry about. You can see anything you want, any time you want.  And it’s not just well-traveled Indian business men, university educated engineers and doctors, wealthy urbanites who can view this stuff. It’s also the poor migrant rural worker who left his village , who has never gone to school, who has never touched a girl in his life (except maybe a prostitute if he can afford one) because the public version of the culture he comes from does not allow it. It’s the uneducated rickshaw puller who has never seen nor talked to a woman from the West or even from within his own life aside from his mother or sister but has access and watches these porn videos and  videos of singers like Rihanna or Miley or Madonna or Christina and because he doesn’t know any better, then thinks that ALL women from the West naturally behave that way, are naturally that easy and are naturally that sexually open and voracious as implied in the images they create themselves or participate in.
One of Madonna's favorite dance moves. Thankfully not every female hangs out like this in public all the time.

One of Madonna’s favorite dance moves. Thankfully not every female hangs out like this in public all the time.

“Maybe,” he might even venture to think, “perhaps all women deep down inside are like that so if I just isolate her and get a chance, she’ll do the same things for me which I see the women in those videos do. I get what I want, she’ll never speak up and no one will be any wiser.” (I mean I remember when Dynasty and Dallas were shown there. I had cousins come up to me thinking that I must live in a similar kind of house!)
As if I would ever live like these folks....

As if I would ever live like these folks….

When I was living in Turkey and specifically in Antalya, a very high-end holiday resort city which these days is full of very wealthy Russians, I had a weekly ritual, of buying either a copy of “The Guardian” or “The International Herald Tribune” every Sunday morning, have my breakfast at a local café and then walk over to one of the lovely public parks which looked over the Mediterranean sea, sit down on a park bench and read my newspaper. Guaranteed, within 5 minutes, some Turkish maganda-type (a sleazy guy) would sit himself down and try coming on to me. When I started yelling at them that I was a teacher, a hojam, they freaked out, ashamed and quickly fled.
You can't even have a serene moment to yourself even in a park like this in broad daylight.

Turkey, unfortunately is known for sex-tourism for women, in much the same way Thailand is for men or Morocco or the island of Mykonos is for gay men. Usually older, lonely European ladies, from Germany, Russia, Holland, Denmark, Norway and England come with their girlfriends and “spend time” in holiday towns like Bodrum, Alanya, Antalya, Marmaris, Kemer and there are unfortunately thousands of male Turkish hotel workers or workers in the tourism industry who are there to serve them. I even heard stories from some of my students who specifically wanted to learn English so that they could get a job at a hotel so that they could meet a “rich Western lady” and once saw a 50-something British lady, have a 20-something Turkish lad move in with her in Fethiye and bought him a car. That jerk who tried coming on to me, just naturally assumed that because I was not Turkish, and like the other 98% of other non-Turkish women he probably has encountered, I was obviously there looking for a bit of action and so he tried to make a go of it. He spoke perfect English so clearly he wasn’t completely stupid. This was also Turkey, not a poor, developing nation by any stretch of the imagination, say unlike Bangladesh.

Another time, during the summer holidays in elementary school, I was shipped back to the old country to visit and stay with relatives. I must have been 10 or 11 at the time and still basically a kid. I was on a shopping expedition in Dhaka with two elderly aunts and some female cousins. Under normal circumstances, we had a driver who took us everywhere we needed to go but for whatever reason that evening, he couldn’t fetch us in time and we had to take the bus which caused a lot of consternation with my aunts though I didn’t understand why at the time.
Gulistan bus station did NOT look like this when I was there. Imagine this picture but with people teeming everywhere instead.

Gulistan bus station did NOT look like this when I was there. Imagine this picture but with people teeming everywhere instead.

Gulistan Bus Station in Dhaka is literally hell on Earth. It’s crowded, it stinks,  it’s teeming  with wall-to-wall people, mostly poor men, migrant workers from the villages. An older cousin quickly told me before we entered the crowd that no matter what happened, I just had to keep walking fast and not look at or talk to anyone until we got to our designated bus platform. So I listened to her and followed her in. Not even 20 seconds into the mêlée, was I suddenly feeling hands trying to grope me in places where I still didn’t have any places to speak of. I couldn’t tell who was doing it because it was just a constant stream of people all around us and they all looked the same. After a minute, I was ready to scream. By the second minute my disgust had turned into pure blood-red rage. I couldn’t take it anymore and that blasted bus platform was still 50 feet away. I grabbed the wrist of the next hand I felt on me, saw the arm it was attached to, saw the shoulder and then saw the face and then duly punched it without hesitation. He was shocked and fled. Bangladesh is very conservative socially and Muslim. Women are generally quiet and submissive so for a young girl to punch a man publicly is unheard of. The people around us saw what happened, my aunts were mortified but we got to the bus stop without another hand touching us.
A pretty good facsimile of your's truly as a kid.

A pretty good facsimile of your’s truly as a kid.

How women carry themselves and how they behave here in the West, whether they realize this or not, has a direct impact and even deeper implications in the way women are viewed and treated in other parts of the world, even if it may seem there is no visible relationship at first glance. The digital world changed all of that forever. So when Miley decides to fellate a sledgehammer or have a noted sleazeball (and unfortunately, influential fashion photographer) like Terry Richardson direct her videos, or Rihanna decides to open her legs wide open for all and sundry to look in, it may very well be their form of empowerment in the confines of the photo studio or the tiny video screen or their personal handicams, but it certainly isn’t for millions of women out there in the rest of the world, who board buses at night or who want to enjoy their Sunday newspaper in peace at the park or just want to get home safely.
What is this really saying?

What is this really saying?

It isn’t empowerment in cultures where male eyes don’t just travel but feel the right to own anything it sees. I think that’s the main reason why so many men in the West feel uncomfortable around women who wear hijabs, because it forces them to realize that these are women who are not and never will be sexually available to them and I’m near positive that’s what pisses them off the most. (It’s a totally different discussion and beyond the scope of this blog post, but Islamic feminism does exist and I have a few Muslim friends who do wear the hijab as a form of protest and as a feminist statement. In short it’s their way of saying to men “Look at *me*, deal with *me* as a person and nothing else. Not as someone who you can daydream about, not as someone who you can try to make a pass at eventually.  Just a person, and nothing else.”)
Wearing a hijab can be a political statement. For some women who are forced to wear it, it can be a sign of male domination. In other instances, it can be a form of rejection of male-imposed standards of beauty and sexual availability.

Wearing a hijab can be a political statement. For some women who are forced to wear it, it can be a sign of male domination. In other instances, it can be a form of rejection of male-imposed standards of beauty and sexual availability.

It isn’t body-acceptance when there are hundreds of millions of men who view a largely uncovered female form as permission towards body ownership.
I wish some of these artists would finally understand that sometimes showing more doesn’t always mean more. They may be showing more, but it’s hurting others even more. That when it comes to the female body, the excuse of cultural context is now forever gone thanks to the digital world. Sometimes showing less can be just as artistic and powerful.

Look Away from the Screen

Apologies Shifters for not writing very much this past month. It would seem that many other bloggers are also laying low these days for whatever reason. I can’t speak for others but for me personally, there has been a lot on my plate. Nothing bad or super-negative or anything of that sort, but a shift in outlook and perspective has been happening, in a good way, and while I’m giving myself over completely to that process, it leaves very little inclination to write very much.

Image

Not in the mood to write very much…

Part of the problem for me here is that I really do not enjoy being in Canada and Montreal for that matter. It’s a barbaric, depressing climate and as I’m getting older, I find that there are many things about the culture and outlook which I’m finding increasingly distasteful and unbearable to deal with. This is not going to be a racist or cultural diatribe but rather an examination of the fact that centuries of cultural imperialism, genocide, colonialism, institutionalized racism, uncontested cultural appropriation, unexamined privilege and entitlement and 30 years of unfettered neoliberal policies have finally taken their toll on this landmass, physically, psychically, emotionally and spiritually. The deeper energy here is in decline and stagnating, (for me anyway). Personally, my heart is not here, it never has been and it never will be. It’s closer to the ancient world and the ancient, primordial energies of our species. That’s where I thrive.
Would you rather live in a place like this?....

So rather than feel sorry for myself, I’ve decided to take some active steps to shake things up a bit. I’ve started working with the earth more, harvested my vegetable patch at the local community garden, took all the peppers, chillies, basil, tomatoes, Swiss chard, kale and spending hours in the kitchen making copious amounts of home-made spaghetti sauce, roasted vegetable lasagna, spicy poblano corn chowder and have put everything into the freezer for the winter to eat, share or give away.

If you’re a regular concert goer like I am, then no doubt in the last few years, you must have noticed the amount of personal recording devices like iPhones, iPads, phone cameras, or digital cameras which have taken over audiences and how they literally block everyone’s view and enjoyment of the show. Everyone’s too damn busy recording and watching the show via their dinky little screen so that they can later post it on their social networks that they overlook the fact the real thing and the real person is right in front of them to experience and enjoy.

And then it hit me.
What if the reality we live in and experience everyday are like the symbolic equivalent of those dinky little iPhone screens,  while the deeper, more genuine reality is all around us yet we don’t see it because we’re too busy looking at the iPhone?

This jives exactly with something I’ve been reading lately, “Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself” by Dr. Joe Dispenza. Dispenza was one of the speakers in the film “What the Bleep do we Know?!” and is part of that New Age/self-help circus which I normally can’t stomach (plus he’s a follower of JZ Knight and the Ramtha School of Enlightenment—eeek!) but I have to say what he’s written is spot on and despite my initial misgivings, is resonating deeply with me.
Dr. Joe Dispenza

Dr. Joe Dispenza

He makes the point that real change can only happen on the quantum field and by extension, emotional field first before it shows up in your life for real. I’m not talking about magical thinking and writing up a wish-list of what you want and then hoping the Universe gives it to you. I’m talking about literally changing your thinking patterns and attitudes and reactions, about how to slip into the Eternal Now and lose yourself completely where you enter into a field of pure energy and consciousness, which is ultimately where happiness, bliss and serenity exists.
What you decide to project out once you get there is completely up to you. And this brings me to a quote by Aivanhov on the subject:
“Prayers and rituals in which believers beg for help from above are only effective if they put clear intent and ardent feeling into their words and gestures. Otherwise, it is pointless, and it’s no use then wondering why they are suffering, why heaven does not answer their prayers or come to their aid… It is quite simply that they have not sent out the powerful current with which they could contact the divine world. Words and gestures mean nothing if they are not backed up and given life by the vibrations of the soul and spirit. If you want heaven to hear you, expressing your suffering is not enough. The intense suffering that drives people to cry for help often comes through only as inner agitation, in which the soul and spirit take only a weak part. For prayer to be a power capable of touching heaven it requires harmony and inner peace.”

PS: As per Rob’s suggestion, here is the interview by Dr. Konstantin Korotkov and worth every one of the 50 minutes it takes to watch.

A World of Conscience

picsmeme-conscience-quotes-05

When I landed in the republic of conscience
it was so noiseless when the engines stopped
I could hear a curlew high above the runway.
At immigration, the clerk was an old man
who produced a wallet from his homespun coat
and showed me a photograph of my grandfather.
The woman in customs asked me to declare
the words of our traditional cures and charms
to heal dumbness and avert the evil eye.
No porters. No interpreter. No taxi.
You carried your own burden and very soon
your symptoms of creeping privilege disappeared.
Fog is a dreaded omen there but lightning
spells universal good and parents hang
swaddled infants in trees during thunderstorms.
Salt is their precious mineral. And seashells
are held to the ear during births and funerals.
The base of all inks and pigments is seawater.
Their sacred symbol is a stylized boat.
The sail is an ear, the mast a sloping pen,
the hull a mouth-shape, the keel an open eye.
At their inauguration, public leaders
must swear to uphold unwritten law and weep
to atone for their presumption to hold office –
and to affirm their faith that all life sprang
from salt in tears which the sky-god wept
after he dreamt his solitude was endless.
I came back from that frugal republic
with my two arms the one length, the customs
woman having insisted my allowance was myself.
The old man rose and gazed into my face
and said that was official recognition
that I was now a dual citizen.
He therefore desired me when I got home
to consider myself a representative
and to speak on their behalf in my own tongue.
Their embassies, he said, were everywhere
but operated independently
and no ambassador would ever be relieved.

 – from “The Republic of Conscience” by Seamus Heaney
Seamus Heaney died today. I put up this poem to not only honor him but to honor the sentiments behind this poem. Heaney wrote this poem because, at the heart of it, it is about how a truly concerned citizenry really has no borders.
Britain and Canada are NOT going to Syria and I think that is wonderful news. David Cameron suffered a stunning defeat in Parliament when it went to vote as to whether or not the UK would bomb Syria along with the United States and it may very well look like Cameron’s prime ministership is now in jeopardy. The British public have spoken. Harper was quick to also jump on the let’s-not-bomb-Syria bandwagon literally hours later. It looks like the US are gonna have to go it alone. Maybe with Israel and Turkey. I can’t believe how transparent and shallow these so-called “world leaders” are. It’s obvious that had Cameron won the vote, Canada and Australia would have also signed up for more Middle Eastern adventurism. Cameron was the canary in the coal mine.
I also can’t believe that stupid, idiot mainstream journalists were so eager to fall for the same ploy the State Department and the White House used 10 years ago. Remember Saddam Hussein and his “weapons of mass destruction”? How it turned out that there weren’t any WMDs and it was a fabricated story used as an excuse to invade Iraq? Where are we now on Iraq? Afghanistan? Libya?
Donald Rumsfeld = Jerk How the hell do people like this sleep at night?

Donald Rumsfeld = Jerk
How the hell do people like this sleep at night?

Now stories of Bashar Al Assad using chemical weapons on his own people when in fact everybody knows at this point that the “Syrian Rebels” (most of them are not even Syrian but like in the case of Libya, are foreign, paid mercenaries which have been sent into the country to destabilize it) are being funded by certain western governments who gave them the chemical weapons and used them on civilians.

So why go through all the trouble? General Wesley Clark said it shortly after 9-11. Watch the video, but in short, the CIA, Pentagon have a long-range plans to destabilise the entire Middle East and re-draw the maps, territories and borders.
Again.

This is not something new.
Remember Lawrence of Arabia? Not the romantic, wind-swept David Lean film with Peter O’Toole, but the real T.E Lawrence?
The real Laurence of Arabia.

The real Lawrence of Arabia.

He was a British stooge used to redraw the maps of the Middle East after WWI to convince various Arab tribes to come together and rally around the British against the Ottomans.
Really different from today's map of the Middle East, eh?

Really different from today’s map of the Middle East, eh?

Only now everyone wants to control oil and oil pipelines. Some theories suggest the main reason to redraw the maps is primarily because large chunks of Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Egypt and even northern Saudi Arabia would be “redrawn” and guarantee the West unfettered access to resources in the region.

Others speculate that after Syria, it will be Iran, then Pakistan (who have been allies with China forever). This might then drag China and Russia into a war in Central Asia (the next energy jackpot, incidentally) which would precipitate, I think, a WWIII. I’ll tell you upfront who the real Axis of Evil here is. It’s the governments of  the US-Israel-the House of Saud-the Emirs of the UAE. They are the real culprits behind every major conflict in the region.
Most Muslims can't stand the Saudi royal family and their various boot-lickers. They are NOT representative of your Muslim dude on the street. Their reputaion as jet-setters, womanizers, and vulgar nouveau-riche along with their arrogant attitudes towards non-Saudi Muslims pisses everyone off.

Their reputation as jet-setters, womanizers, and vulgar nouveau-riche along with their arrogant attitudes towards non-Saudi Muslims pisses everyone off within the Muslim community.

The whole thing is beyond crazy at this point. It shows that politicians and people in those political and economic classes (the judges, lawyers, military top brass, professors, the intelligentsia, the business and professional class) who stand to gain from keeping things as they are (i.e keep stealing stuff from other people and keep acting like a bunch of barbarians), are actually in fact, limited.
Limited intellectually because for all their smarts, all their degrees and credentials, they STILL have not come up with a  better way of doing things and continue to live according to the code of Genghis Khan.
Limited emotionally because there is zero empathy for the suffering they inflict on others just so they can load up on a cheap tank of gas to drive their spoiled brats to Chuck-E-Cheese or to soccer lessons.

And most importantly, stunted spiritually, because they have no vision or understanding of how they will have to pay the piper later on for this compliance to a horrific racially biased, entitled, class-divisive system which will hurt them later on as well.

I started this post by saying that Britain and Canada not going into Syria is wonderful news. It’s great news because it showed that the public outcry and public understanding of these so-called “complicated issues” stopped the politicians on the spot.
They now realize we’re not as dumb as they think we are.
We know the Emperor is butt-naked.
Everyone is questioning everything.
Imperialism is out of fashion.
Protesters against a possible war with Syria, outside of the British Parliament.

Protesters against a possible war with Syria, outside of the British Parliament.

Those old sheltered dinosaurs  in parliament, congress, senate, in their mansions, private clubs, Wall Street offices, ivory towers, and gated communities still don’t see that the dynamics have now changed completely. The best stuff doesn’t come from them anymore and then peters down to the rest of us.

Rather, the best stuff is happening on the streets. The best music, literature, fashion, food, ideas and most importantly, news and information. Just remember this: even rivers change their courses given enough time. Steer your boats accordingly.

The Energy Refund (Right back at ya, Babe!)

I have a “3 bad films and you’re out” policy about Hollywood actors.
Make three films which are crappy and after that I won’t invest another penny in seeing anymore of your work. No Netflix, no paid downloading, no cable.
I won't pay to watch any of her flicks anymore.

I won’t pay to watch any of her flicks anymore.

Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bruce Willis and Tom Hanks are already on my no-pay list. I used to like Kevin Spacey once upon a  time but after “K-Pax”, “Pay it Forward” and “Ordinary, Decent Criminal” he joined the list too.
How the hell could Keyser Söze ever be in "K-Pax". You lost your cred, dude.

How the hell could Keyser Söze ever be in “K-Pax”. You lost your cred, dude.

In fact, I wish Hollywood executives made their accounting practices more transparent. I’m still waiting for the day where I can get my refund back after watching a bad film. If your film sucks royally, I should be able to go to your home, knock on your door and ask for my $10 bucks back. (I’m talking to you Barbara Streisand especially for “The Mirror Has Two faces” – Hey, we can dream, can’t we?)
This needs to change.

This needs to change.

I bring up the subject of refunds because I have been checking our Cameron Day’s website and reading up on his excellent blog articles and watching his YouTube videos. [For those of you familiar with David Icke’s work around archons ( I refuse to capitalize them), this article and this article are especially worth a read.]
This video seemed to resonate the most with me. It’s a bit New Age-y but there’s some empowerment to be found behind it all.
Call it karma, payback, what goes around, comes around, reaping what you sow, this is really about sending back to people what they gave to you which you don’t want and then neutralizing it so you don’t get into that energy loop of back-and-forth and psychic warfare, whether it is negative projections, negative exchanges, negative anything.
Imps can't deal with their own medicine.

Imps can’t deal with their own medicine.

I have found that when you send stuff back to people, especially in their face, it inevitably freaks them out like no one’s business (funny to watch too, might I add).
Elvis' song "Return To Sender" is pretty good too.

Elvis’ song “Return To Sender” is pretty good too.

I remember once dating this one dude who decided to end things unceremoniously. When I asked why, his response was there “there’s just nothing there.” Now, I’m not one to cry over spilled milk for too long so I gathered my things and myself, wished him a good day and left. About a week later, after I had ruminated on things and chewed the cud a bit, I saw that this was not a big deal and it was good it had ended. No hard feelings, it’s just done. I realized he still had a few of my items so I asked him if I could fetch them. We got to talking on the phone and at some point he commented he was very surprised that our breakup was so civilized.
Him: You know, I’m really surprised you’re so OK with all this.
Moi: Yeah, it’s cool, it’s all good. Remember when you said that there was just nothing there?
Him: Yeah.
Moi: Weeeeellllll……. I ….pretty much…. feel the say way.
Him: (freaking out and suddenly up in arms) Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! There’s no need to be nasty and mean about things!
Moi: ???????? (It would seem it was OK for him to be bit callous and indifferent but when it turned out that I honestly didn’t harbour deep feelings either, it suddenly wasn’t OK anymore. Some people just can’t swallow their own medicine it would seem. Oh well).
i.chzbgr
What I like about this idea of Energy Refund is that it points out that there is always inevitably energy tied up with whatever projections which are sent out to us or even those we project outwards ourselves and it is in recognizing that there is bound-up energy within these projections and releasing it in a good way that we can let go of things in a meaningful and constructive way and then be able to move forward. There are tons of roles which end up holding us back  if we don’t issue the refund (i.e what is mine is mine and I’m taking it back, what is your’s is your’s and I’m giving it back to you). the role of blamer, the role of victim, the role of being used. Also, without you having to take on any extra karmic debt, you’re giving back rightfully stuff that belongs to the parasites, ankle-biters and energy vampires of this world.
It's all about bringing back balance.

It’s all about bringing back balance.

I would love to see what would happen if people suddenly started doing this en masse at the same time.
Have fun issuing your refunds!

Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

This is a must-read article from Cameron Day over at www.ascensionhelp.com and perfectly encapsulates why the New Age/'Lightworkers"/Channeled Ascended masters crew are all full of malarky and is actually another facet of this reality hack. It also points out that many of the Abrahamic, partriarchial religions who have set up the world in binary form (good vs. evil, black vs. white, us vs. them) are also playing into the reality hack.I don't agree with every last thing Cameron wrote here but the most important point here is that the secret is to TRANSCEND both sides and see things clearly for what they are. Cameron already bolded his emphasis, I'll place mine (in red italicized brackets) ==================================================================

Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

By Cameron Day, on August 23rd, 2013

No, I haven’t turned to the dark-side, but rather I am transcending sides.  This article is probably the most important piece I have written to date, and in order to convey the full message, a bit of back-story is necessary. Hang in there with me, and by the end you will understand why I will never call myself a “lightworker” again.

Planet Earth and much of our corner of the universe has been under a spell for a very long time, a spell which casts doubt within our minds about whether or not we are connected with the Infinite Source of all creation. The spell causes us to feel alone, vulnerable and isolated – cast out from the Heavenly Realms into a cruel, dog-eat-dog world.  This spell is pure fiction, a deception of the highest order, but it has taken hold deeply on this and other worlds.

Intrinsic within this holographic spell is the notion that duality and polarity are natural aspects of life, and that we must serve one side of duality or the other. This elegantly simple binary imprint has become so prominent that we have lost sight of the larger holographic spell that spawned it.  Indeed, we have lost sight of the hologram all together, and come to believe that it is the sum total of reality.

Humans have been conditioned to worship the holographic deception and the agents that perpetuate it.  This hologram has been called Maya by the Hindus, and the Gnostics referred to it as the Corrupt Demiurge. I find this term a highly accurate description, and from the point forward I will refer to it as the corrupt demiurge.

Dark vs (False) Light – Duality of the Demiurge

In order to capture and control the widest possible spectrum of souls, the corrupt demiurge split its agents into two seemingly opposing teams:  Dark vs (false) Light.

yinyang2 Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

Not everyone can be a saint, so there must be room for sinners within the demiurge, as long as everyone involved is under its spell.  What matters most to the demiurge is that we worship it or one of its agents, regardless if they are on the light team or the dark team.

There are many names of the players within this cosmic, multi-dimensional drama that you will have no doubt heard of such as:  Lucifer, Jehova, Beelzebub, Arch Angel Michael, Satan (different dude than Lucifer), Ashtar, dozens of Arch(on) angels, supposedly ascended “masters” and various other channeled entities.

While some of these beings play for team dark, and some play for team (false) light, they are ALL ultimately playing for the corrupt demiurge that controls them. This, in essence, is the big secret of the archons:  They are not just the “evil, demonic beings” but also those who pretend to be angels and ascended masters..

What is the Point of All This Control?

The corrupt demiurge is an entropic system of artificially-induced separation consciousness that is slowly dying, and it depends on harvesting the energy from the souls incarnated within its system in order to preserve its existence. In order to harvest the largest amount of soul energy possible, it created the dark-light duality paradigm to ensure that every being incarnated on a world that is under its spell would serve as a “soul battery” to help keep the demiurge energized.  The “good” souls would seek out the (false) light team, and the “bad” souls would seek out the dark team, but unknown to most of those souls, they are all serving the same system.

In order to keep the duality game interesting for its participants, the demiurge set up densities of existence that “initiates” on the dark and light paths could ascend through.  This gives the beings moving through these densities a feeling of accomplishment, when in fact they are navigating through a labyrinth of demiurgic illusion. The players at the higher levels of the hierarchies know that they are in a self-serving system, but they are fine with the deal, because they get to wield power and receive the energy of worship from beings further down the ladder.

What About the “Spiritual Hierarchy?”

archonangels2 Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

Most channeled beings will claim to be affiliated with the (false) light-based “Spiritual Hierarchy” which includes “arch angels,” “ascended masters” and “positive ETs.”  These channeled messages are a dime-a-thousand, and more keep pouring out every day.  The dirty little secret is that these beings are beholden to the corrupt demiurge, and are waging a psychological battle on people that don’t want to be associated with any formal religious structure.

In other words, the “new age” is a multidmeinsional psychological operation designed to channel the soul energy of the “believers” of these teachings up to the “ascended” teachers.

Another one of their secrets is that most of the so-called “ascended masters” in their “hierarchy” never had a human incarnation.  These are incredibly deceptive beings that are playing a game in order to garner the energy of worship. In the real universe of non-deception, nobody would worship them, but in the illusory “sub-universe” of the corrupt demiurge, they are able to trick good-hearted people into pouring energies of love, devotion and praise into them.

As for the “arch(on) angels” they are in more or less the same category.  They are not aligned with the Infinite Source of all creation, but rather they serve a lesser being posing as the creator: the corrupt demiurge. Therefore they are not what I would call angels at all.

In honor of the truly deceptive nature of these beings, I have given them a new, more accurate title:  The Spiritual Liar-archy.  icon smile Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

The Dark Side Makes the False Light Look Good

angeldemon2 Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

The two teams have to play their parts convincingly, and the dark team has really embraced their role as villainous scum ready to kill, rape, torture and do any sort of depraved thing that they can get away with.

The dark side is designed to be incredibly repugnant so that the majority of “good souls” will run to the other end of polarity, right into the “loving” embrace of one of the false light’s patriarchal religions, or to their new age religion with its legion of channels and “masters.”

Earth has been a difficult planet for the corrupt demiurge to fully control.  Human beings were once very aware of their connection to Infinite Source and all of life, and that awareness has been maintained by spiritual individuals throughout the entire reign of darkness on this planet. Because this awareness could not be “beaten out of us” by the dark forces, a plan was formed to co-opt the spiritual nature of human beings.

First, patriarchal religions were formed and imposed on as many people of the world as possible.  Anyone who didn’t adhere to one of the major religions was an outcast for much of history, until the last century when the “Theosophist movement” was born, which set the foundation for the “new age movement” to emerge in the 50s, 60s and 70s. The new age movement has continued to gain momentum as it has attracted many of the people who turned away from the hypocrisy of patriarchal religion.

The corrupt demiurge seems to have an “easy answer” for any of the inner turmoil that humans experience.  If religion doesn’t serve to appease an individual, then the new age will do just fine.  It’s all the same to the demiurge, as long as we “pick a side” that it controls.  This is why we need to transcend sides all together.

Channelers Are Being Deceived

I wrote an article back in 2011 about some of the problems with channeled messages, which you can find here for more background information.  If religion can be said to be “the opiate of the masses” then channeled messages would be the “HOPIUM of the disgruntled minority.” Every channeled message that comes from the spiritual liar-archy is essentially the same when you strip away the fluffy talk and story-line that is being used to couch the message.

Here is every channeled message ever done, condensed into a few lines:

Dear ones, you are greatly beloved by all of us in the spiritual (liar)archy. We long to reunite with you, for we are your long-lost family.  Stay strong and hold onto your light, because we will make our presence known to you soon. Keep waiting (and suffering) and hoping for us to come and rescue you from your situation.  When we arrive, we will build a golden (c)age for you on earth.”

I used to think that this nauseating disinformation coming from “Archon Angel Michael,” “Saint Germain” etc was the result of dark-side interference taking over the channels without their awareness. What I didn’t understand back when I wrote “Who’s Really on This Channel” is that transmissions from “truly positive beings” weren’t being intercepted and corrupted by the dark side, but rather the messages were coming from “false light” beings of the spiritual liar-archy.

“Light Workers” Are Being Thoroughly Used

angelbully Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

Back in 1998 when I first got into the energy clearing genre, the term “lightworker” didn’t exist.  It appeared some time in the early 2000s, and it sounded weird to me the first time I heard it.  Now I understand why:  because the “light” that the spiritual liar-archy is trying to get us to work for is the FALSE light of demiurgic duality!

You see, there is a massive effort underway by beings that I now call “Divine Agents” to completely obliterate the corrupt demiurge. When that happens, all of the beings who have gained power through the demiurge will lose that stolen power and will have to face up to the deceptions that they have been propagating.  None of them want that to happen, so in their cleverness they devised a brilliant plan to undermine the entire effort.

The plan was simple:  Approach all incarnated Divine Agents, usually in a dream state but sometimes during an “ET abduction” scenario, and tell them that in order to fulfill their mission, they need to “work for the (false) light” and take orders from the spiritual liar-archy.

This plan worked AMAZINGLY well, largely because Divine Agents have had a hard time living on Earth.  Societies here are badly warped, spirituality is twisted and abused, the vibrational density is heavy, our memories are mostly wiped, and we generally would rather NOT be here.  So any being that emanated light (even false light) and love could make a Divine Agent feel like they were making valid contact with truly divine beings.

I still remember my own recruitment by the false light that occurred when I was 6 years old in an extremely vivid dream-time experience.  They had me convinced that I was fulfilling my mission as a Divine Agent by working for them.  I think they always knew I would figure them out, although it took a very, very long time.

Ever Wake Up More Tired Than When You Went To Sleep?

(I thought I was the only one feeling this?)

Many Divine Agents who were recruited as light-workers report that they wake up more tired than when they went to bed, and their “dreams” were full of battles.  During these “dream missions” the spiritual liar-archy squeezes those they control of as much energy as they can. You may wake up with memories of having gone on missions to battle the dark, but the end result is that your body, mind and soul are depleted of energy which was harvested by the (false) light beings.

A few months ago I revoked ALL agreements made with any and all beings that did not have my best interests in mind, no matter WHO the beings were or claimed to be. It sounds like such a simple thing, but somehow I had overlooked it.  During the process, I felt resistance from beings who were claiming to be positive, but I stood strong and told them that I refuse to be manipulated into giving energy to the demiurge.

This has given me the distinct privilege of being targeted by both the dark team (ankle biters) and the (false) light team (spiritual liar-archy).  The (false) light team does indeed engage in psychic warfare, just in different, more subtle ways than their “dark” brethren. Deflecting these attacks has been worth it because I know that I am more aligned with my true mission to put an end to the demiurge without being side-tracked into duality battles.

It is also very nice knowing I am going to get a good night’s sleep when I go to bed because I am not going to be pulled into any ridiculous “missions to battle the dark” that the (false) light beings are so fond of setting up for their “light workers.”  (That phrase actually creeps me out now that I know its true origins…)

What Was That About a Golden (C)age?

goldencage Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

The false light beings working for the corrupt demiurge want to maintain their control over the human race.  Our soul energy and agreements to live in our current cage empowers the demiurge and the beings that serve it, and they are not going to give that energy up easily.

We are, at this very moment, in a struggle for our freedom.  The spiritual liar-archy wants to move us from our current, extremely uncomfortable cage into a slightly more expansive state of existence, but one that they are firmly in control of.

One metaphor to describe our current situation is that we are like a flock of chickens pent up inside a tiny, dark, smelly chicken coop.  Those that have been farming us are preparing to let us out of the coop, and into a larger fenced-in area where we will be able to feel a little more free, but still within their control. This is the “farmer’s” way of ensuring that they can continue to feed off of our energies, while making us feel that we are free, thanks to the kindness of our captors.

The “spiritual” liar-archy does not want us to grow on our own to a place of self-empowerment that will allow us to simply walk away from their entire control system. This is why the channeled messages subtly disempowers people, while pretending to actually offer them an empowering solution.  As long as we are sitting and waiting for “the good guys” to come and save us, we will not be able to discern who truly has our best interests at heart, nor will we be able to actually fix our own problems for ourselves.

Solutions for the Duality Afflicted

buddha02 Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

So how does a person get out of this duality paradigm?  The first step is to engage the Self-Clearing System protocols and revoke all agreements that you have made with any beings that don’t have your best interests in mind. Next, revoke all agreements to see reality in polarized terms. Every time you revoke agreements, be sure to reclaim your energy that had gone into them. Then affirm your commitment to transcend the control paradigms of the corrupt demiurge without being side-tracked by pointless polarity battles. (most important bit)

I also recommend a brief daily practice of revoking all agreements to experience hardship, limitation, bad relationships, health problems, financial problems, family dysfunctions, and anything else in your life that is energy-draining. The number and quantity of agreements that we have unconsciously taken on within this false reality matrix are truly astounding.  When you pay attention to the subtle and blatant agreements that point to the invisible bars of your prison, you will indeed find that there is no shortage of agreements to be revoked.

After you have engaged this process, you may notice less “contact” from the false light beings, and you might feel a little lonely until you get used to the changes.  This is a very good time to strengthen your connection to your own Higher Self, the core of Earth and the Galactic core. As you adjust, you may notice better sleep and a sense that you can see through deceptions disguised with positivity more easily.

If you do get contact from a being, you can tell it that you are only willing to communicate with beings who have transcended duality and are outside of the corrupt demiurge.  Put any being trying to contact you to the test.  Question them point-blank:  “Are you part of the demiurge?” The beings of True Divine Light who exist outside of the demiurge, in the Real Universe will happily answer your questions.  Just be aware that they don’t speak in language the same way that we do, as they communicate with what I call “soul telepathy.”

Type of Communication Is a Major Indicator

The Forces of True Divine Light that exist outside of the corrupt demiurge are not bound by the left-brain right-brain dynamics and dark-light polarities that define the demiurgic sub-universe.  This means that they do NOT sound like a voice in your head! Instead, they use “soul telepathy” to emanate feelings, archetypal expressions, and an extremely pure quality of light that speaks directly to your soul. (ditto)

The difference between a being of True Divine Light and one of the false light spiritual liar-archy beings is that the former’s light is warm, enveloping, pure and unconditionally loving, whereas the latter’s light is cool, piercing in an uncomfortable way, dominant and often overly-masculine. (please re-read that sentence) The spiritual liar-archy is a male-dominated group, and even the females within their power structure have a very masculine energy.  This male-domination is, of course, why the religious structures the liar-archy enabled all have a domineering male god, and no mention of an all-encompassing, feminine creator.

Another major difference between false light beings within the demiurge and beings of True Divine Light who are aligned with Infinite Source is that the Divine Light is not controlling, manipulative, bossy or judgmental in any way. Infinite Source will NOT impose an agenda upon you, although it will support you in your chosen mission to help dismantle the corrupt demiurge.  You won’t be given “marching orders” by Infinite Source or beings of True Divine Light who operate outside of the demiurge.  They won’t send you on endless, energy-draining missions in your dream-time, and they won’t ask you to do something that will result in loss of your soul energy, unlike the imposters in the false-light spiritual liar-archy.

The beings of True Divine Light are supportive, loving, nurturing, and they care about you as an individual.  You are not just a cog in a machine to them, for they understand that you are a vitally important aspect of an intricately interconnected creation. They have the utmost respect for those of us who volunteered to incarnate into the “beast system” of the corrupt demiurge in order to help dismantle it from the inside.  Indeed, there must be Divine Agents working both from within and outside of the corrupt demiurge in order to dismantle it.

Discernment is Vital

purple gold flush2 Why I Am No Longer a Light Worker

I will be writing more on this topic and its many implications.  In the mean time, I urge you to drastically increase skepticism and fine-tune your discernment.  Apply your intuition and logic to information that you receive, and ask yourself “what is the agenda here?” There is indeed a very large, multi-dimensional “conspiracy” at work on this planet, and it draws power from us by pushing us into one spectrum of polarity or another.  Anyone urging you to “choose a side” simply hasn’t woken up to the fact that both sides are two halves of the same coin that is controlled by the corrupt demiurge.

I urge you to discuss these ideas with those close to you and look for ways that you may have been manipulated by the false light in the past.  It’s nothing to be ashamed of – the false light beings are amazingly skilled liars and manipulators.

Most of you reading this have already chosen to be a Divine Agent and incarnate for the purpose of dismantling the demiurgic control system.  You have already made your choice, and now you need to carry out your individual mission.  In order to do that, it is vitally important to sever all ties with the false-light “spiritual” liar-archy, take some time to regain energy and strength if necessary, and ask your Divine Inner Self to reveal to you what it is that you specifically need to do.

Stand strong in the true light of your Divine Inner Self and Infinite Source.

Much Love,
Cameron Day

Lady Justice has become crippled

justice-no-longer-blinnd

“Human justice judges only actions, but divine justice also judges thoughts, feelings and intentions. If you have consciously given someone bad advice, if you have encouraged them to rebel or driven them to despair, what court on earth will condemn such behaviour? None, for materially, objectively, there is nothing to reproach you for. If your victim goes before the judge and says, ‘See what despair this person caused me’, the judge will reply that provision is not made in law for such a case and that nothing can be done for them. Knowing there is no court to punish wicked thoughts, feelings or intentions or deceitful words, many people are clever enough to be impeccable in their actions and not get caught! There are thousands of ways of doing harm without offending in the eyes of human justice. But no one escapes divine justice.”

-Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov
Justice was not served yesterday when Private Chelsea/Bradley Manning got sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment. Like the rest of the world, I have to shake my head in disgust at what’s happened. A conscientious objector releases the truth of the American occupation in Iraq and will lose the best years of her life in some prison cell while war criminals and the masterminds behind a war which has in effect destroyed an entire country and killed millions for absolutely no reason walk off scott-free, living their days on their ranch, painting deviant art of themselves in the washroom and hiding in the wilds of Wyoming or Idaho.
us-war-crimes
From what I understand, Manning’s case will now go to the court of appeals and there may be a chance of a reduction in the length of his sentence. Manning may even get parole after 7 years. Even then, even 1 more day in prison is 1 day too much. In a more just world and in an uncorrupted judicial system, the roles should be reversed. Mark my words, Manning is a martyr and will become a symbol of justice gone wrong, like another long-time innocent prisoner, Mumia Abu Jamal.

The upside is that Manning’s case, like Edward Snowden, has now brought unprecedented attention to the inner workings of government and how truly violent and diabolical the state-system really is. People really see what’s happening now. Not just a handful of marginal concerned and committed activists but everyone. She’s not my cup of tea, but yesterday Lady Gaga tweeted her support for Manning and it made headlines over on the dumbing-down entertainment channel E! Online. Out of curiosity, I had a look at the running comments there and it was sufficient proof that the people who don’t want to see, won’t. People who are dumb enough to make channels like E! Online the centerpiece of their existence  are also dumb and blind to the truth of their surroundings.

It reminded me of one of the last chapters in C.S Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia, in “The Last Battle” when the dwarfs after realizing that the fake Aslan was an imposter and instead of joining the fight against the Calormenes  with good King Tirian, continued acting strangely, sitting in a tight circle, not looking around or noticing anyone around them. As it turns out, they believe they are in a dark stable and act accordingly. After many attempts to show the dwarfs that they were, in fact, in the great outdoors with flowers and grass and birds had failed. Without warning, the real Aslan suddenly appears before them. Lucy begs Aslan to do something about the dwarfs, but even Aslan is unable to bring their vision to them. He says that their prison is in their own minds and that their fear of being “taken in” keeps them from being taken out.

Some of Pauline Baynes’ illustrations for C.S Lewis’ “The Last Battle”.

As for divine justice, or karma, I have to believe there has to be some, somewhere out there. Hindus and pagan/Wicca types believe in The Rule of Three, that any action we take, any intention we set  and put out there into the Universe comes back to us threefold (which is why revenge spells are a really bad idea to begin with, the best you can do is ask for divine justice or karma and then let it be). If that’s the case, I do not envy those souls behind this fabricated “War on Terror”.
They’re gonna get it.
In time.

The Love of Swans

One of my bosses is drop-dead gorgeous beautiful.
I mean one of those annoyingly handsome men who looks like he belongs on the cover of some Harlequin Romance novel (for my UK readers, that would be Mills and Boon books).

hrnovel-cover

Salt and pepper hair (more salt), long black eye-lashes which ring around the most ungodly blue-grey eyes I’ve ever seen. Full, lush mouth, a profile which belongs on a Roman coin, an easy smile and the most perfectly shaped hands which look like Michelangelo himself chiseled out of marble. He even has one of those hyper-masculine names which could easily have come out of a soap opera like General Hospital, something like Brock McPherson or Reg Davenport. I can appreciate and observe his beauty, it goes no further than that but I find it amusing to watch how breathless female staff become when he’s around.

Not quite.

Not quite.

Sometimes I have to use his office and work at his desk. I see the pictures he has prominently displayed of his wife, pictures of her dancing while heavily pregnant, pictures of his 2 little boys at soccer practice, pictures of his wife posing provocatively in a bikini, pictures of the two of them smooching on secluded tropical beaches, smooching on ski trips in the Alps, smooching in front of a fireplace. It’s obvious he worships her and that they are deeply and passionately in love with each other and I think that’s just awesome.

Doc's picture's are almost as hot as this one.

Boss’ pictures are almost as hot as this one.

It made me realize, this is what to aim for, the good guy, not the nice guy, (because sometimes in the course of being good, you can’t always be nice) and certainly not the dross and detritus that I see trying to pass themselves off as some sort of “catch”.

Dating nightmares.

Dating nightmares.

Several of my friends have recently come off of using online dating sites and the stories they tell me are either hilarious, flat-out gross or sad. It would seem now there is a whole host of new kinds of statuses, “Single but attached” now means someone who is poly-amorous, “Attached but looking” is basically a married dude who is a swinger looking for no-strings attached sex. All these labels, all these people searching, searching, searching and for what? A new set of pipes and plumbing systems to explore which will somehow lead them through the backdoor into someone’s heart and soul? The involuntary contraction of a few muscles which induces a momentary illusion of happiness? It doesn’t make any sense to me to invest all that time and energy for such a limited thing when there are far too many other fantastic things to explore on this planet.

I watched this documentary on polyamory, and I have to say, they spend ALL their time talking such rot and rubbish that it's enough to induce a headache for the rest of your God-given life

I watched this documentary on polyamory, and I have to say, they spend ALL their time talking such rot and rubbish that it’s enough to induce a headache for the rest of your God-given life

I have noticed that there is a certain trend emerging in dating circles these days. There seems to be a hyper-intellectualization going on of sexuality. Now, what people do in the privacy of their bedrooms is their business. If licking eyeballs is your thing or if nostril sex or ear sex is the next step after you’ve explored all other options, all the power to you.  My observation is that for all this novelty,  none of this stuff is making people any happier.

eyeball2

When I look at a person, I don’t just pay attention to what they say and do. I look at the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual. When I get talking to some people, I often detect those strong intellects which they then use to justify whatever they do but I don’t detect any authentic emotional happiness or spiritual joy. What I do usually come across is a certain lacking, a sadness, depression and loneliness and the intellectualization of their lifestyle choices to hide the depression and loneliness.

Maybe hipsters are often depressed because every neighborhood they infect with their presence usually results in sky-high rents and overpriced coffee and sandwiches.

Maybe hipsters are often depressed because every neighborhood they infect with their presence usually results in sky-high rents, and overpriced coffee and sandwiches. They should get out of themselves more often.

One of my most prized possessions is a “Thank You” letter I received from one of my all-time heroes Katharine Hepburn. When she turned 90, I had flowers sent to her home in Old Saybrook, Connecticut which I ordered from the florist there and dictated a letter to them which they took over the phone and delivered. She sent her note on her own personal stationary which has her full given name printed across the top “Katharine Houghton Hepburn”. It hangs framed over my desk.

Note my letter but same, exact letterhead

Not my letter but same, exact letterhead

I admire Hepburn because she played the game of her life and Hollywood according to her own rules. After her 27-year relationship with Spencer Tracy ended with his death, she was never with anyone else ever again. In that way, it reminds me of swans who mate for life. There’s a certain, rare kind of dignified beauty in that kind of spiritual depth and emotional maturity, something which I don’t see in online dating ads anywhere these days, that’s for sure.

Our Busy Galaxy

Barney, Fred and the Great Gazoo

Fred , Barney and the Great Gazoo

I’ve been hesitant about writing up a post on UFOs for a while now. (If this isn’t your thing, you don’t have to read the rest of this, it’s totally cool). Hesitant because this seems to be one topic with the most disinformation, false leads and invested interest by far. More so than say Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster or the Bermuda Triangle.

I’ll be upfront and say right out that I think other intelligent life-forms exist in this vicinity of the Milky Way. With astronomers finding more and more galaxies with each passing year with “Earth-like” planets and given the magnitude of space, I’m sorry to say to naysayers, but I’m with Carl Sagan on this one, the mathematical and statistical odds of us being completely alone in all of creation are stacked heavily against us.

I don’t really follow Ufology and Ufologists too much, it’s not really my thing but if I come across a compelling piece of evidence or strange video footage, I’ll give it my attention for a little while.

I have friends who work in the airline industry and they have told me that when you get talking to the pilots, they see lots of strange, inexplicable things up there in the sky while most of us are busy eating plane food or bugging the stewardesses for more water. I have also seen strange things up there. Once on  a flight back from Peru, I saw a bright light in the distance, outside my window, which could have easily been a jet or another plane flying alongside the carrier I was on. It looked like it was a fixed point, only remember I’m on a plane flying at a very high speed so if it was a fixed point, it would have disappeared from my view within seconds. Instead it was going along for a good hour and then suddenly, like a strange hovercraft, it shot up, along the “Y” axis,  straight into the wild blue yonder, in a straight perpendicular line to the flight path, like this:

axis0

Now, I’m not an aviation or military buff but I know enough there is nothing on earth, no aircraft that we have that can make a maneuver like that and certainly not at that altitude. I just assumed it was a UFO and just mentally said (because I figure if they are an advanced race, they probably communicate telepathically anyway) “Hello. Welcome. Hope you guys eventually say hello back to us. Take care.”

Hi Marvin, how's it going?

Hey Marvin, how’s it going?

If there are aliens, I don’t think it’s just one race of them. I think there are probably  a couple of species of them. From what I can surmise from UFO literature and reports, there seem to be baddies and goodies. Some even go so far as to say that there is even an Inner Earth as opposed to an Outer Space and that may craft have been sighted coming out of the ocean or remote lakes in places like Markawasi, Peru. Esoteric literature is rife with things like the Hollow Earth Theory and a visit to Mount Shasta, California will land you in the middle of Telos country, the alleged underground city of ancient Lemurians, underneath Mount Shasta, who communicate telepathically with some of the mediums living in the area. Fun, huh?

Strange clouds regularly appear over Mount Shasta, California

Strange clouds regularly appear over Mount Shasta, California, making the place a magnet for Hollow Earth Theorists and UFO enthusiasts

A few years ago, Paul Hellyer, who used to be Minister of National  Defense for Canada, under Lester B. Pearson’s cabinet, came out publicly and said that the existence of UFOs is common knowledge among the military and upper-level politicians around the world. It was a bit of an earthquake when Hellyer came out because this was the first time a high-level senior politician from one of the G-8 nations  publicly spoke of such issues.

The Right Honorable Paul Hellyer

The Right Honorable Paul Hellyer

Since then, Mexico and France have opened up websites so that the public can access their database of reports of UFOs. Hellyer spoke at a symposium on Exopolitics at the University of Toronto and 3 of my friends (2 with PhD’s) and I trekked over to Toronto for the event. Hellyer was and continues to be a compelling speaker but the rest of the Exopolitics symposium was a sleeping bore. Hellyer recently spoke in Washington DC giving testimony to congressional hearings on UFOs..

Professor Don Donderi (now retired from the Department of Psychology) also led a series of talks on UFOs and Disclosure at McGill University a couple of years ago. Professor Donderi’s talks were excellent and he was recently on Coast to Coast with George Noory (which I can tell you for a professor from such a stodgy, straight-laced Victorian university like McGill is really saying something…). Even bad-boy Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange has said that there are references and content related to UFO’s in some of the documents which Wikileaks have received.

Dr. Steven Greer of the Disclosure Project showed up in Montreal some years ago. A friend who is really into UFO’s took me along and I got to chat with him afterwards.

Nice guy.

Nice guy.

Greer is a trained medical physician and while I don’t agree with everything he says, when I did talk to him, he was really nice, friendly, grounded, very talkative and not condescending in any way (which I unfortunately find many alternative researchers to be). He said something interesting to me which has sort of stuck, “The next time you’re in the countryside, with the pure night sky, where you can see the millions of stars out there, each one sending us light from millions and billions of years ago, ask yourself if you truly feel alone looking up there. That’s your answer.”

The Disappearance of Time and Childhood

If there is an elite controlling the world then I want to know who the asshole Sith is... If there is an elite controlling the world then I want to know who the asshole Sith is…

There are conspiracy theorists, mystics, holy men and plenty of other folks who think this world is ruled by an élite and that behind this élite, there is a supernatural, otherworldly force pulling the strings. I’m not going to discuss if this is true or not, you can do the research, read the books, watch the videos and make up your own mind. Some people call them inter-dimensionals, others Reptilians, yet others, The Greys. It would seem these sorts of theories have also petered down into children’s literature.

Crap film. OK film. Kick-ass book.

I am guessing if you were attending elementary school in the early 1980’s, chances are you were forced to sit through and watch Wolfgang Petersen‘s film “The NeverEnding Story” like every other kid. By itself, it’s not a terrible film. However if you sit down to read the original book by Michael Ende, the film , in contrast truly is a spectacular piece of garbage which Ende felt it was. After the horrors of working with a Hollywood film director, Ende then promptly refused further American productions of his other books.

Way better. Way better.

I only know the story because in the early days of the internet, I had a quadriplegic email pen-pal named Jimmy, a writer from Oklahoma who was also attracted to the mystical elements of Ende’s writing. Jimmy had written to Ende in Germany shortly before Ende passed on and told Jimmy as much in his letters. What I find particularly interesting about Ende is that he comes from a Waldorf education background. Meaning, he grew up with the teachings of German mystic and metaphysician Rudolf Steiner and the whole anthroposophy movement. Ende’s work is heavily infused with these esoteric ideas.

It’s unfortunate that many of his other amazing books are not better known to English readers. He did write one children’s book called “Momo” which I think, is actually a bit of an unrecognized masterpiece and deserves some discussion.

endemomo

“Momo” is essentially Michael Ende’s version of this dimensional reality hack, only his bad guys are called the The Grey Men. They surreptitiously steal people’s time, little by little and by such insidious increments, that at first people don’t notice how their days seem shorter until the day comes that their every second needs to be accounted for, everyone is living under borrowed time, leading pleasureless, hurried, frantic lives. Life becomes all about trying to be efficient, trying to accumulate wealth and in doing so, people have lost their capacity for joy, play, wonderment, and most importantly, love. That’s basically what the grey men want. Momo is the street urchin who eventually catches on to what the grey men are up to and goes about trying to defeat them.

Momo vs. The Grey Men Momo and the tortoise Cassiopeia vs. The Grey Men

Another writer who touches on the same themes is Madeleine L’ Engle. A prolific writer who only found success well into her 40’s, L’Engle comes from the opposite end of the spiritual spectrum than Ende. A devout Episcopal with universalist values, L’Engle was especially interested in that little-studied area where science and spirituality meet head-on. She especially explored these ideas in her Kairos series of books involving the Murray family and particularly in “A Wrinkle in Time”.

Another terrific book. Another terrific book.

Meg Murray, her friend Calvin and her brother Charles Wallace are sent on an intergalatic, inter-dimensional trip to rescue their genius father from IT. During the course of their adventures, they are helped along by 3 shape-shifting benevolent entities (who are supposed to be angels), land on the planet Camazotz, to discover a city where houses are identical, people’s lives are regulated down to the second, so much so that kids playing in the street, skip rope in unison, balls bounce in unison, and mothers come out in unison to call their children in at which point all the doors shut in unison.

Everything and everyone is identical on Camazotz (looks like any suburb nowadays if you ask me..) Everything and everyone is identical on Camazotz (looks like any suburb nowadays if you ask me..)

“Everybody knows our city has the best Central Intelligence Centre on the planet. Our production levels are the highest. Our factories never close; our machines never stop rolling. Added to this we have five poets, one musician, three artists, and six sculptors, all perfectly channeled…We are the most oriented city on the planet. There has been no trouble of any kind for centuries. All Camazotz knows our record. That is why we are the capital city of Camazotz. That is why CENTRAL Central Intelligence is located here. That is why IT makes ITs home here.”

The kids eventually carry out their mission but only after finding out that their most lethal weapon they have against IT and The Darkness is Love.

Pre-School-Programme-Making-it-fit A Montessori preschool

I bring up these two “fictional” books because I don’t think they are fiction anymore. Many of my friends in my age group are raising small children now. Which means any get-together is about them usually discussing day-care and pre-school options, getting them into the “right” pre-school, so that eventually they can get into the “right” elementary school and then the “right” high-school, sign up for the “right” extra-curricular school sports teams which will then lastly, get them into the “right” university. That’s basically planning a kid’s life from ages 3 to 23.

I'd be bored too. I’d be bored too.

This sort of thing makes me sick, angry and sad. It robs a child of having a light, carefree, idyllic childhood, those crucial, formative years where the imagination should run wild, and they should be free to make discoveries on their own, running after butterflies, playing in the mud, climbing trees, swimming in ponds and making snow forts where they can have epic snow-ball fights.

This is what kids should be doing. This is what kids should be doing.

Instead it gets them ready to enter a life of servitude, becoming an efficient cog in the machine, taking orders, thinking inside the box and becoming robots and if they don’t follow orders, they stand to lose everything.

Preparing students for the future - Scene from Pink Floyd's Preparing students for the future – Scene from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”

I’ll close with a quote by Ende:
“Life holds one great but quite commonplace mystery. Though shared by each of us and known to all, seldom rates a second thought. That mystery, which most of us take for granted and never think twice about, is time. When it comes to controlling human beings, there is no better instrument than lies. Because you see, humans live by beliefs. And beliefs can be manipulated. The power to manipulate beliefs is the only thing that counts.”

The Schoolyard Bully gets bitten by the Dog he kicked

The US government and Edward Snowden

The US government and Edward Snowden, guess who is who?

I’ve been quite engrossed in watching this Eddy Snowden/NSA drama unfold. You have to admit it’s not everyday that you see the proverbial elephant in the room get scared because of the little mouse. The US government’s reaction to Snowden’s actions has been nothing short of extraordinary. Extraordinary in it’s nationalist hubris, extraordinary in it’s hypocrisy, extraordinary in it’s fear.

Edward Snowden Supporters Gather In Hong Kong

Eddy told the Chinese everything about the extent of American spying and hacking in Hong Kong and mainland China, particularly of their private citizens. According to Glenn Greenwald it was precisely because of the outrage the extent of these revelations generated, that Hong Kong officials gave Eddy a free pass to leave for Moscow. I find it funny that on one hand Americans are spying on the Chinese and then from the other side of their mouth “politely” asked that they return Snowden to them. That’s like the schoolyard bully kicking the little kid in the corner and then having the nerve to ask the same kid to invite the bully to his birthday party. It’s just not going to happen.

schoolyard_bully

Eddy is now apparently holed up in some half-way zone at the Moscow airport and I’m willing to bet money he’s exposing stuff to Russian officials and intelligence agents while he’s there and he’ll probably leave after they’re through with him. I should add those Russian hackers are probably the most talented in the world.  They are gonna have a field day after this, I’m sure.

Putin is also a Judo champion.

Putin is also a Judo champion.

I normally don’t really admire leaders and presidents and such but I have to say I’m going to give full marks to former KGM agent, multilingual Vladimir Putin for having the balls to stand his ground and indirectly tell former Bonesman, husband to the ketchup queen and bad plastic surgery patient, John Kerry to screw off. (While I profoundly disagreed with how Putin handled the Chechnya situation, he is by far the smartest, shrewdest world leader right now. He knows exactly how things work behind closed doors and more importantly, he’s not afraid.)
I really hope Eddy makes it to South America or Iceland safely.

This story has exposed the worst, most sinister aspects of state behavior and the nation-state model. Maintaining order always involves violence. People need to ask questions like “Who’s version of order?” “Who benefits or profits from this order?” “Who defines this order?” but outside of activist circles, these kinds of questions are unfortunately never discussed.

This story has also exposed that empires have a shorter and shorter shelf-life. The Western and Eastern Roman Empire lasted nearly 2000 years. The Ottoman Empire lasted 700 years. The British Empire lasted just shy of 500 years. The American Empire barely lasted 60 years.

Timeline of Empires

Timeline of Empires

Some people speculate that China will be the next superpower, I don’t know. My own opinion is that the age of Empire and superpowers is on its way to being over. No more scenarios where you have one giant shark and lots of tiny goldfish in the pond. Rather, you’ll have a number of big fish and lots of medium and smaller sized fish, but no one fish will rule over all.

24w3

That’s a good thing, it keeps things in check and it prevents the development of the bully mentality and the myth of exceptionalism whether it’s American, Anglo-Saxon, Slavic or whatever.

Just remember this one thing, suspicious minds are generally guilty ones.

And Kali has started Her Dance

Kali100

The goddess Kali in the Hindu pantheon of gods is a terrifying figure. With hands soaked by the blood of her victims, matted hair, blood-shot eyes, a girdle made of human limbs and a chain of human heads, brandishing a scimitar, her black visage distorted in a perpetual, furious scream, tongue out in constant blood-thirst, she momentarily stops her dance of rage and destruction by resting her feet on the corpse of her consort the Lord Shiva.

To just merely label Kali as the goddess of death and destruction is a little simplistic. In actuality Kali, represents many, many different things, depending on which school of thought you read or belong to within Hinduism. Some see her as the goddess of Time and Change. Sometimes the death and destruction that she leaves in her wake are actually opportunities for growth and renewal after the fact. Some see her as the annihilator of evil forces, a slayer of demons, while other devotees insist she is the master of the 5 elements and supreme mistress of the universe.

I bring Kali up because given what is happening in the world these days, I can’t help but feel that the old ways are going out faster than anticipated. With unprecedented protests happening in Brazil, Turkey, the closing of the recent G8 talks in Belfast, I’m almost getting a strong sense of déjà vu, of witnessing the last days of the Roman Empire, that while Rome burned, the emperor Nero sang and played his lyre oblivious to everything and everyone around him.

Nero, too caught up in his megalomania to notice that Rome was burning.

Nero, too caught up in his megalomania to notice that Rome was burning.

The masses are awake, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Everyone has had it. They have for a while now, but people were able to get by if they kept their mouth shut and head down as they gradually suffer more and more indignities propagated by the system. This stupid neo-liberal agenda which politicians, banksters, CEOs, and right-wing pundits and professors have been ramming down everyone’s throat for years now has hit it’s ideological dead-end and I’m fairly certain they know it too. The GMO-foods which makes people sick, the asinine entertainment industry, the professional sports industry and useless news channels with talking heads blathering on nothing ad nauseum for hours, all of it designed to keep the masses dumbed down and distracted.

People do desperate things when they realize the jig is up, like animals caught in a trap and can’t find a way out. Governments are no different. The state-system apparatus and the people who uphold that system knows it’s seeing the end of it’s time, that’s why they have to take desperate measures and grasp at straws by listening in on people’s phone calls, read their text messages and emails.

Grasping at Straws

As frightening the spectre of Kali is, I’m actually feeling very hopeful these days. I think the end of an era is at hand. While barbarians overtook Rome when it fell, I don’t think that will happen this time, too many decent, intelligent people are pissed off. In their unending greed and thirst for control and power, the 1%’ers pushed more than they can handle and in doing so, got the majority against them including the majority of their servants. It reminds me of George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” where the pigs eventually learned to walk on hindquarters like their human masters and then started to live in the house and eventually just stayed shut inside, failing to understand or see how the rest of the farm and what the animals in the barn were up to.

The Natives are restless folks. Don’t ever forget that. And don’t forget that’s also a good thing.
The hand of Kali never falters.

Those Truth Vibrations are getting stronger folks…

There seem to be several interesting developments happening at the same time these days.

First off, Anti-Bilderberg 2013 was a runaway success. I’ve watched the footage and YouTube videos very closely, read the news reports and you can’t help but feel that something extremely encouraging has taken place. The Hertfordshire police thought no more than 300 people would show up. Instead thousands did. 2000 more had to be turned away at the gate.

The crowd waiting to get into the Bilderberg site.

The crowd waiting to get into the Bilderberg site.

Politicians took to the mike along with guerrilla journalists and speakers and researchers. People from across the UK and overseas showed up. Protesters were hugging cops and the cops hugged them right back (it helps that English cops don’t carry guns). In fact the protesters were so polite and peaceful, it’s easy to see why many of the cops there seemed to be having a good time and listened earnestly to the protesters. Some even walked away convinced that maybe these loony conspiracy theorists are actually on to something.

Note to all activists, protesters and concerned citizens: THIS is the way it’s done. The old saying is true: You’ll attract more bees with honey than with vinegar.

I hope all subsequent anti-Bilderberg meetings from now on become like this. It’s finally on the mainstream media’s radar screen and it looks like it’s going to stay there. The Fringe Festival is a brilliant idea. If it continues, this thing is going to snowball, I’m sure of it. The only thing I wished I saw was some yoga practitioners showing up in solidarity like they have in Taksim Square in Istanbul.

Would've been cool to see a bit of this at Bilderberg

Would’ve been cool to see a bit of this at Bilderberg

Another thing, the gathering missed the ritual and ceremonial aspect completely. I would have done earth-based ceremony around the site days or weeks in advance and then during the days of the meeting, had the First Nations drummers out in full force, at the 4 cardinal directions around the hotel. These things send out vibes/thoughts/frequencies and would go a long way to influence the Bilderbergers, in a good way, from a distance.

Second: Is anyone really surprised by this National Security Agency (NSA) scandal in the US?
Ever since 9-11 and ever since the chimp-lookalike Bush’s administration with Homeland Security becoming even more draconian against Muslims, suspected terrorists, Occupy activists, in fact ANY kind of activist or anyone that questions governments, banksters or corporations. Of course it was just a question of time before they started listening in on phone calls, reading private emails and embroiling Google, FaceBook and MSN in their complicity. Julian Assange warned as much ages ago. Assange is also praising Snowden as a hero and is urging him to seek asylum in either Russia or South America. I don’t always agree with Glen Greenwald but this was truly a spectacular piece of reportage and investigative journalism. Kudos to him. The jury is still out on whistleblower Edward Snowden and from what I understand, he’s hiding out in Hong Kong so he can escape Private Bradley Manning‘s fate.

Some Icelandic politicians, in their truly unique tradition, are looking to offer political asylum to Snowden. There are calls for impeachment against Obama. The entire country is literally going apeshit over this.
My advice: Don’t use Google, use Startpage. Unlike Google, they don’t record IP addresses and it’s the one search page many software developers and hackers use. From what I heard, they will shortly be launching an email service as well.

Screw Google, go here instead.

Screw Google, go here instead.

Third: I can’t speak for everyone but at least in my corner of the world, many politicians are being outed big time for kickbacks, drug usage and plain old corruption.

Canada's dictator, Step-Hen Harper has no warm, human blood in him. Instead, ice-cold liquid mercury runs in his veins.

Canada’s dictator, Step-Hen Harper has no warm, human blood in him. Instead, ice-cold liquid mercury runs in his veins.

Step-Hen Harper is embroiled in a scandal where his chief of staff paid off a conservative Senator Mike Duffy for $90 000 for “living expenses”.

Rolly-polly bigoted Toronto mayor Rob Ford may have some phone camera video of him smoking crack cocaine floating out there somewhere. The video has not surfaced but half his staff quit anyway and his credibility is in tatters. Maybe he can go on a fishing trip with his buddy Step-Hen and commiserate on their bad fortune together?

Local Montreal shyster Dr. Arthur Porter, who was the head of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), is fighting an extradition order to Canada where he faces serious corruption charges. Porter, a doctor from Senegal, somehow through Step-Hen Harper, was elected the the Queen’s Privy Council of Canada and was made a board member of CSIS, the Canadian Intelligence agency.

Old pals, Step-Hen and Arthur Porter

Old pals, Step-Hen and Arthur Porter

Porter seriously screwed up the MUHC and their plans to build a super-hospital. He awarded contracts to his cronies and because of the cronyism and corruption, the entire university has been crippled. They are cutting back on essential staff and services, fees are being raised while these assholes walk away with golden parachutes. Anyway Porter has been found guilty of corruption and the Quebec government want him back for questioning. What does he do? He now claims he has Stage IV cancer and “cannot travel” from his location in the Bahamas. Funny enough, he seemed well enough to travel to Panama where he and his wife were caught last week. Porter has said that if he goes down, he’s going to name names, including politicians, businessmen, socialites and typical movers and shakers. To say that Quebec is a corrupt place is the understatement of the century.   Just yesterday interim- Montreal mayor, Michael Applebaum was picked up on corruption charges, this after he said he was going to clean up house after his predecessor Gerald Tremblay was also forced to resign over corruption charges. My guess is that there’s a sweetheart deal in the works behind the scenes. He’ll probably name some names, but not the most important ones and he’ll get a penalty or next-to-nothing jail time.

Keep your nose clean, always pack an extra pair of underwear and sit back, relax and watch this comedy show. At this rate, who knows what will happen next given the climate these days….

The Power of Touch and the Touch of Power

6a00d83455bea369e200e54f0a33718833-640wi

The recent news about hot yoga shyster Bikram Choudhury being accused of rape has been generating a lot of discussion online and off about the whole nature of power within the context of guru/student dynamics as well as male/female dynamics.

femme_800

It got me thinking about the most primary of relationships which we all experience, that we have with the opposite sex (I don’t mean to exclude transgendered persons from this discussion, I’m just writing out of my own experience so apologies in advance if anyone may take offence). In my case, it’s not really about Dad, or brother or uncle or Grandpa. It’s mostly the kind when sexual dynamics and chemistry come into play.
George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones definitely had serious chemistry going on in "Intolerable Cruelty"

George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones definitely had serious chemistry going on in “Intolerable Cruelty”

I’m writing this from the perspective of a heterosexual female, so bear with me a second for anyone who does not belong to that same group. Call me sensitive but there is a major difference in the way a man touches you which, if you’re alert can tell you almost everything you need to know about him and what he wants out of you, what he really feels about you, what he really thinks about you. It’s hard to describe but a whole host of elements come into play when a man touches you, how quickly he tries to touch you and where, how much pressure he exerts when he does touch you, how lightly, how fervently, how calmly, how warmly, how suddenly, how hard or how soft. Maybe I’m some kind of freak but I’ve been able to read exactly what was going on just by the way a guy touched me. It doesn’t even have to be in a romantic context like in a kiss or embrace. It could be even in a handshake or the way he hands me half his sandwich.
Sometimes less is a lot more...

Sometimes less is a lot more…

I remember meeting with someone, we had not seen each other in a few years and we went out for dinner a few times to catch up, the chemistry was still there but long story short, nothing would ever come of it. I remember saying goodbye to him and he suddenly grabbed my shoulder. It was too abrupt, too sudden and he was digging into my skin too hard. I did not detect any softness, any patience in that touch. I wiggled myself out of his grip but then I realized all too clearly that I was nothing but a diversion for him. I also picked up almost instantaneously that if we were to become lovers, he would be a very selfish one. That’s when I lost all interest and realized it was a dead-end. I have since heard that he cheats on his wife regularly now. It doesn’t surprise me in the least.
Man-touching-womans-shoul-001
I remember another time when someone else lightly kissed my forehead. In that second, I could have been knocked over by a feather. It wasn’t just chemistry but there was a gentle sincerity and respect there which in itself is insanely attractive. Things didn’t work out, we were and are too different and have different dreams but I have nothing but good things to say about him, he’s a really good guy and I’m sure he’ll make the right girl very, very happy one day.
Now in the context of yoga, some of the yoga asanas can be sexual.
You’re spread out wide open, legs open, legs in the air

You’re open.
Wide legged forward bend

You’re vulnerable.

A good instructor’s touch is hardly felt, they’ll usually always ask for permission to adjust you properly, they respect your boundaries and in this case your boundaries involve your own body. A bad instructor will not respect your boundaries and in the case of the more lecherous instructors I’ve observed, will be all over girls while “adjusting”. All it takes is a few classes and you’ll pick up what’s going on if you’re alert.
Yoga instructor in film "Couple's retreat" - a bad example of adjusting.

Yoga instructor in film “Couple’s retreat” – a bad example of adjusting.

Now, I don’t want to make the victims of shady gurus and shady yoga instructors out to be in the wrong, and say that they should have known better and walked away earlier and bypassed the abuse. That’s like saying that women who are victims of domestic violence should have known better before getting involved with such-and-such jerk. But the promises of romantic love and fulfillment can often be as alluring as the promises of spiritual gifts and abilities and in that respect, they may not be all that different from each other.
choices2-300x280
Some gurus promise initiation or revelations of spiritual secrets and abilities if “you just listen to everything I say and do as I say.” For someone who doesn’t know any better, the glamour of spiritual specialness or of attaining what Alan Watts called “psychic technologies” (i.e bilocation, telekinesis, Enlightenment, levitation, mind-reading etc.) is too irresistable an offer to pass up.
Real spiritual initiation usually involves handing down teachings after years of study or being a student. It should NOT make you feel uncomfortable, or cornered.

Real spiritual initiation usually involves handing down teachings after years of study or being a student. It should NOT make you feel uncomfortable, or cornered.

Likewise some potential romantic partners may allure you with dreams of butterflies in your stomach, a  few sessions of hot, sweaty, toe-curling sex, maybe even happily ever after just as long as you follow what I call “The Script”. The Script can change from year to year, maybe it might mean sex on the first date but no later than the third. It might mean observing the highly changeable rites of courtship and following the ground rules which society at large has decided on. It might mean following the advice as featured in this month’s issue of Cosmopolitan or Details magazine.
I hate this magazine.

I hate this magazine.

Both prey on the fears and on what’s lacking in one’s life and that if this one thing is not lacking anymore, we will be happy. I personally think it’s even more basic than that, it’s really about Power. That by attaining these things, we become more powerful and in control and here I have to agree with Watts completely, that power in that sense is really not something you want, especially the kind of power which involves controlling other people. When we can control other people, we basically want them to be like wooden dolls in a scenario or dream of our choosing. What makes life interesting is that wildcard factor, when we let go of that control and let things happen as they may. When people talk back to us, when last-minute changes happen.
Being in power over ourselves is OK.
Being in power over others is not.

9 reasons why the current yoga scene can be likened to Gwyneth Paltrow (Take a freakin’ chill-pill, this is a Rant)

You know how there are some celebrities we just love to hate?

Not because we’re all envious or anything, we hate them because it’s fun! They’re either so obnoxious, self-involved or nonsensical that they invite disdain and derision because of the things they say and do.

Case in point: Gwyneth Paltrow.

Gwynnie-poo (from people.com)

Gwynnie-poo (from people.com). Horse-y faced WASP-y Hollywood blonde.

I don’t know what it is about her that brings out the inner bitch of just about every gal I know. I don’t think it’s because she’s thin, rich, white and blonde and married to a rock star. I could describe Charlize Theron (or Kate Hudson) in the same way, but Charlize has a bit of an edge to her which I think makes her cool.

Another classic Hollywood blonde: Charlize Theron

Delicate-featured , classic Hollywood blonde: Charlize Theron

Charlize also comes from a bit of a dodgy family background which makes her a badass for having survived it and coming out ahead.

Gwynnie-poo on the other hand has had a silver spoon firmly ensconced between the cheeks of her “butt of a 22 year old stripper” (her words not mine) and everything given to her on a silver platter from Day 1.
I also think Charlize is much prettier that Gwynnie-poo.  In fact, I think there are many other high-profile acting sisters in the same age group who are prettier, full of more substance AND smarter than Gwynnie-poo and deserve more screen time than her.

(Gents: this is the one and only time I’m going to post girly photos here for your viewing pleasure. Ladies: My point is that beauty can show up in equal amounts of brains AND comes in all colors )

Like Monica Bellucci,

Sophie Marceau,

Classic French beauty, former Bond girl Sophie Marceau is not only an actress, but she produces, directs and also is an author.

Ludivine Sagnier,

Eva Green,

And as for figures, while I agree clothes do hang very well on Gwynnie, she’s really nothing more than a clothes hanger…

…I still don’t think that kind of slenderness defined by the fashion world is very attractive.

Rather,  IMHO, women should strive to *BE*, first and foremost, HEALTHY and STRONG, say like the Brazilian National Women’s Olympic beach volleyball team for instance..

That's the way to do it Ladies! Maria Antonelli and Talita Rocha looking strong, healthy and feminine, curves, muscles and all.

That’s the way to do it Ladies! Maria Antonelli and Talita Rocha looking strong, healthy and feminine, curves, muscles and all.

…but I’m getting off-track here so on with the list….

1) The yoga scene is usually all about being thin, white and privileged.
Yoga: While things are slowly changing and awareness is definitely increasing, classes like queer yoga or curvy yoga are now popping up in many cities and there are now amazing Facebook groups as well as many great yoga blogs which are discussing these issues head-on, all of which are about making yoga more accessible to all, there is still unfortunately a long way to go. Average mean income of most yoga practitioners is around $75 000/year, far above the national average income level with many practitioners who are college educated with post-graduate degrees. Many of the younger girls I’ve come across could give a rat’s ass about the spiritual aspects or deeper health benefits of yoga but instead just want to get really lean and thin, mostly to get a boyfriend or a husband. Many instructors and studios are still failing to make visible, sexual and economic minorities and women with larger body-types welcome in the studio.

Gwynnie-poo: Gwyneth Paltrow is the walking definition of thin, white and privileged. Born into Hollywood royalty, her father was a TV producer of shows like “St. Elsewhere”, her mother is of Philadelphia Main Line stock and a thespian in her own right.  Gwynnie’s bi-coastal upbringing included Thanksgivings which were usually spent with the likes of Steven Spielberg in the Hamptons, going to the elitist Spence School of NYC and spending summers in Spain. She spends 14 hours a week working out with sketchy celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson and unabashedly boasts about using nothing less that $60 olive oil. There is nothing normal, accessible or grounded about her at all which normal, working women can ever relate to.

Gwyneth Paltrow's at-home private studio. She had a separate building built just to work out.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s at-home private studio. She had a separate building built just to work out.

2) The yoga scene is full of instructors who sprout one thing on the mat yet live a totally different reality off the mat and somehow make the whole thing OK.
Yoga: Ubiquitous yogilebrity Elena Brower, a well-known instructor from the Anusara “tradition” admits that she smokes. This is after her going on ad nauseum about the beauty of yoga, about the beauty of a breath, about the beauty of health, blah, blah, blah.

Gwynnie-poo: Gwynnie waxes lyrical constantly about the importance of her workout, her instructor, her diet  and buying the most expensive food possible. In fact her latest cookbook, ” It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes that Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great” is all about eating a vegan, low-carb, gluten-free lactose-intolerant diet. No coffee, dairy, alcohol, sugar, shellfish, potatoes, tomatoes, bell pepper, eggplant, corn, wheat, meat, soy or anything processed.  And how French Fries nearly killed her. Then she dropped a bomb last week when she admitted that she looks forward to her weekly Saturday night cigarette. Um…Gwynnie, do you understand why that would make some people upset?

You're a real role model, Gwynnie!

You’re a real role model, Gwynnie!

3) The yoga scene and living the “yoga lifestyle” can be expensive
Yoga: Like I mentioned earlier, yoga caters to mostly those people who are affluent. Yoga studio unlimited memberships are about $1200 per year in my city. Lululemon pants run at about $90 each. Designer mats can be as high as $100. And then you have to factor in the seasonal cleanses, the retreats to exotic locations like Bali or Tulum ($4000), the Vitamix blender for your juices and smoothies ($750), the regular colonics ($80 a poop), the membership in CSA farms ($250 /12 weeks) and the time itself to daily practice. It adds up quickly. It’s cheaper to become a Jain monk and get the same results.

Gwynnie-poo: One only has to visit Gwyneth’s “lifestyle” blog and online magazine “Goop” and read a couple of articles particularly about what to buy, what to eat and where to visit to realize that this is a magazine which should only be in private circulation among other Hollywood actresses, billionaire heiresses and vulgar wives of Russian oligarchs since they are the only ones who will EVER be able to afford this “lifestyle”.

4) The yoga scene can be out of touch from reality (borderline delusional actually)
Yoga: No, I can’t eat kale everyday and I don’t want to. I especially can’t afford to shell out 5 times the going rate of “normal” kale for kale that’s been grown biodynamically on fertile volcanic soil in Hawaii which has then been blessed by a shaman under a full moon which is then supposed to give me more ‘healing” nutrients. I can’t and I won’t so kindly fuck off.

Gwynnie-poo: The latest edition of Goop! included Spring 2013 fashion “essentials” which comes out to a whopping $450 000. Almost half a mill, folks. That’s just clothes. For one person. For one season. Seriously. With that kind of cash, you can dress practically everyone in Mozambique and Bangladesh. Combined. For life. For real.

5) The yoga scene can sometimes espouse a strange diet.
Yoga: A quote from Chris Rock,

“We got so much food in America we’re allergic to food. Allergic to food! Hungry people ain’t allergic to shit. You think anyone in Rwanda’s got a fucking lactose intolerance?!”

Let me expand this to ask why is it that EVERYONE in the yoga scene nowadays seems to be lactose-intolerant, gluten intolerant, with allergies to wheat, rice, sugar, honey, coffee, dairy, alcohol, shellfish, potatoes, tomatoes, bell pepper, eggplant, corn, meat, soy, nuts, grass, trees, air and sunshine?  While I agree having serious allergies is no laughing matter and following a vegetarian diet because of  strict ethical, moral and religious reasons because it’s a part of your being is admirable, I wonder how many people are making up their allergies or becoming vegans because it’s the cool thing to do? What you decide to put into your stomach is your own business and responsibility but personally,  I have to side with global bad-assed foodie Anthony Bourdain , that it is a construct coming out of too much affluence and predicated largely by rich, white kids who want to come across as doing something fashionable because being vegan is now fashionable “Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans … are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit. They make for bad travelers and bad guests. The notion that before you even set out to go to Thailand, you say, ‘I’m not interested,’ or you’re unwilling to try things that people take so personally and are so proud of and so generous with, I don’t understand that, and I think it’s rude. You’re at Grandma’s house, you eat what Grandma serves you. I don’t have any understanding of it. Being a vegan is a first-world phenomenon, completely self-indulgent.”

Gwynnie-poo: Tinseltown blogger Perez Hilton summed it up best:

While we’re all for healthy children, we’re not so sure if leaving them hungry is the best thing! What kind of childhood is that?? Gwyneth Paltrow’s diet is SO STRICT that she admits sometimes her family is left hungry by her restrictions! BOOO! In her new cookbook called It’s All Good, all is most definitely not good, and she details the food she doesn’t let her kids have, like grains:

“Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across . . . seems to concur that [gluten] is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it.”

We’re not so sure about that. We’ve written countless times on how a gluten-free diet is only really good for those who have celiac’s disease, otherwise you could be doing more harm than good! Then, she admits, the diet is not satisfying to her family:

“Sometimes when my family is not eating pasta, bread or processed grains like white rice, we’re left with that specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs.”

That’s such a bummer. We have to be honest here. We’ve always been under the impression that moderation is key, so we’re okay with limiting the amount of processed and carb intake, but we also realize that kids need to be kids — which most definitely includes the happiness of treats from time to time, and to not have to go through childhood hungry! Being extreme with your kids is not how you get well-rounded and happy children!

6) The yoga scene can be pretentious
Yoga: Chanting for 45 minutes then pranayama work for another 30 minutes then 1 hour yoga practice and then posting all about it as your Facebook status. Sure. Whatever. Knock yourself out, Buddy.

Gwynnie-poo: Just go check out Goop!. No. Like seriously. Better yet, read the post when Gwyneth talks about meditation and though she doesn’t know how to do it, but because it’s “brilliant”, so it’s time she took it up.

You can do it Gwynnie! Just make sure you don't get your Jimmy Choo's wet while you get into the water.

You can do it Gwynnie! Just make sure you don’t get your Jimmy Choo’s wet while you get into the water.

7) The yoga scene is full of instructors dispensing medical diagnoses, half of whom have never even taken an anatomy course
Yoga: “Can’t do balancing handstands because of tight shoulders or triangle pose because of a slipped disk? Do more yoga! It solves everything “—> something I once heard a yoga instructor who shall remain nameless say after class one day.

Gwynnie-poo: In the intro. of her new book, Gwyneth describes an incident where she self-diagnosed herself as having a stroke in 2011, after having lunch in her London home’s garden. As it turns out, she was having a migraine headache and a panic attack AT THE SAME TIME. Here’s what she said about it:
“One sunny afternoon in London, in the spring of 2011, I thought — without sounding overly dramatic — that I was going to die. I had just served lunch in the garden at home . . . I had a vague feeling that I was going to faint, and I wasn’t forming thoughts correctly. I got a searing pain in my head, I couldn’t speak, and I felt as if I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was having a stroke.”

8) The yoga scene wants to come across as “hardcore” or “badassed”…but isn’t.
Yoga: Sadie Nardini. Nuff said.
Gwynnie-poo: A nine-course tasting menu is NOT “punk rock”.

Both of you seriously need to get a clue.

Both of you seriously need to get a clue.

9) The yoga scene can get “old” very quickly.
Yoga: How much Krisha Das do I need to listen to, bushels of kale I have to eat, and conversations I need to have with people who do nothing but navel-gaze before I become a “yogi”? Is there a support group for recovering vegans? Recovering Yogi’s website shows that I’m far from the only one harboring these thoughts.

Gwynnie-poo: Gwyneth, do you realize that you’re one of the most disliked Hollywood stars in the world? Do you realize that being everywhere, doing everything and bragging about it all to the entire world endears you to no one? Stop being so obnoxious and start being a little more humble, take it down a notch and take a back-seat sometime. It’ll do wonders for your image. And your “heart condition” too…
