The End of the New Age, what’s ahead and The Loss of an Angel

Now everybody’s talking about this new decade
Like you say the magic number
Then just say goodbye to
The stupid mistakes you made
Oh, my memory serves me far too well

Don’t you know that
The years will come and go
Some of us will change our lives
Some of us still have nothing to show
Nothing, baby
But memories

“Waiting for That Day (You can’t Always Get what You Want)”
George Michael from “Listen Without Prejudice”

Well 2017 is here. My own feeling is that from an energetic point of view is that it will be a better year than 2016 (I mean short of nuclear war, could it really get worse?). It’s part of the transition years which will see old orders and old ways of doing things fade away and new models and ideas take root. Most of that is of course up to us individually which is why I can’t stress that emotionally getting yourself to a positive place first is of paramount importance. If we can project ourselves to that happy, magnanimous place first, on an individual level, it will have a ripple effect.

You absolutely cannot get a positive outcome to anything if you’re on a negative train. I’m not saying that people need to become Pollyanna-ish and unrealistic but rather when you do things or think things which make you feel better, stronger, more empowered, whether that is joining a political demonstration like the Women’s March which is happening on the day after Inauguration Day in DC, stop thinking thoughts which place you in a negative whirlpool of emotion, or cutting ties with people who no longer serve you or do you any good, you can’t help but feel better and that then opens other possibilities.

Bye-bye.

Bye-bye.

There is great article over at New Dawn magazine by Richard Smoley called “What Happened to the New Age? Sorting Truth from Nonsense” and it’s definitely worth a read. Basically what he’s saying is that the “truisms” of the New Age movement, even if partially true, are now outdated completely. A new mold needs to be created. Everything just feels old and stale. The time of reading about this stuff or buying “spiritual” paraphernalia is over. It’s now time for things to be anchoring in direct personal experience otherwise it’s meaningless.

Steve Judd and Carl Boudreau have both said that the energies of 2016 will continue for the first two months of 2017. After that, real change and real possibilities will start to come in and pick up speed for those who want it. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your own personal perspective and preference, 2017 is going to be a year where things will be in the ethers, so this is the time to start dreaming, strategizing and lining up your visions. The energy of 2018 will be much more grounded so that’s when you put your plans and dreams into concrete action. Plan wisely.

George Michael (1963-2016)

Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou aka. George Michael (1963-2016)

I don’t know why but the death of George Michael left me ending 2016 in a somewhat saddened state. When someone’s music you grew up with dies, a part of you dies with them because of all the memories that music brings you. It defines certain periods and moments in your life. I never saw George Michael in concert, though I regret it now that I didn’t go. George Michael was one of those artists that everyone, and I mean EVERYONE liked at least one of his songs. His music reached out across different genres, styles and crowds. My Caribbean-Canadian and African friends all loved his dance music because he understood funk, R & B and the importance of a wicked groove. My friends who were into hard rock and heavy metal all liked the ‘Faith” album. All my gay friends adored him especially back in 1988 when we were all 15 year olds still stuck in secondary school in a socially claustrophobic suburb and “I Want Your Sex” suddenly landed on the radio and the video was rarely shown because it was so controversial. It was all so taboo and risqué at the time so naturally we went crazy.

I’ve been re-watching all his old videos, in some cases for the first time after 26 years and seeing some interviews for the first time ever and I think what Michael taps into (for me anyway) is that his music brings you right back to a certain time and place in your life. Really good music will do that for you. I was a kid when I first saw the video for “Bad Boys”. All the songs from “Make it Big” reminds me of all the those awful, insecure years as a pre-teen. The lyrics of “Waiting for That Day” brings me back to my first serious break-up and how its pointless to try to get someone back who isn’t good for you anyway. “Fastlove” came out right about when I graduated from university and still in love with someone there.

I think he was grossly misunderstood. The fact that since his death, it’s quickly emerging he was one of the biggest private philanthropists to various charities in Great Britain, particularly those charities related to helping out troubled children, nurses and the NHS and health care research particularly in the aftermath of his mother’s death due to ovarian cancer in 1997. That he regularly volunteered at a London-area homeless shelter anonymously. That his staggering philanthropy was completely private and anonymous is amazing especially in this day and age where any little thing is quickly picked up as news.

Michael even admitted in interviews that his creativity was directly related to his own spirituality and that he only produced 5 albums over a span of 25 years was the fact that he was gutted emotionally and spiritually especially when his Brazilian partner and soul mate, Anselmo Feleppa died of AIDS. Anselmo was the one who made Michael A) realize he was gay and not bisexual B) that it was real love which made him realize who he really was. Michael had barely finished grieving over Anselmo’s death when he then lost his mother Leslie. I don’t think he was ever the same again after that. The sugar-coated pop icon with the deep tan, frosted hair tips and giant white Katherine Hamnett T-shirts was gone.

I think what’s amazing that Michael, once he accepted he was gay, he was completely unapologetic about his sexuality and lifestyle. He wore himself completely on his sleeve. He was what people in the LGBTQ+ crowd call a “bad gay”. Talk to any London cabbie and they’ll probably be able to tell you about his nocturnal visits to London’s leather-boy gay bars and dungeons as well as his frequent visits to Hampstead Heath, a wooded park area in northern London which is well-known for gay cruising among the trees and bushes. One paparazzo tried following him into the Heath one night and Micheal, in his typical cheeky way asked, “Are you  gay? No? Well fuck off then.” Famous or not, there are not a lot of people in the world who are that honest and I have more respect for the person who is honest about themselves and doesn’t hide who they are even if they are a “bad gay” than the poser, fake New Ager, fake guru, fake priest etc. who is preaching “Love and Light”, loving thy neighbor and then acting like a cretinous douche bag when no one was looking.

There was of course the infamous  1998 incident in the public washroom in Beverly Hills where he was outed in a sting operation by a police officer for “lewd behavior”. Michael just took it in stride and used the incident to come “out” to the world at large. But then he turned it around and sent the classiest, funniest, giant “Fuck You” to the LAPD and homophobic jerks everywhere with the boom-cha-ka-wa-wa single and video of “Outside” extolling the virtues of outdoor sex for straight or LGBT couples alike. Dressed as a police officer, Micheal celebrates what happened in a public toilet which then becomes a disco.

Little-known fact but Michael was very political as well and had strong leftist sympathies. He absolutely hated the way Tony Blair acted as George Bush Jr’s lap dog in the lead-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He wrote “Shoot the Dog” and the video pretty much tells it all. Because of his public and vocal disapproval of the war, he also raised the ire of another right-wing nut, Rupert Murdoch who then saw to it that Michael was painted as a troubled, mentally unstable, drug-addled dirty gay man in all his newspapers and tabloids. At the time, Michael was attacked viciously for his stance but now in hindsight, he was right on the money.  (at 7:15 in the video, watch all 4 parts of the interview if you can. Fantastic) Name me one major mainstream pop music act in today’s music scene who is willing to take a stand like Michael did, say about Syria or what might happen if Trump starts off a war with whoever? Taylor Swift? Katy Perry? Justin Timberlake? Yeah right.

Micheal battled depression for most of his adult life and things like grief and dealing with fame compounded it. He also admitted he was extremely emotionally immature and stunted when he first became famous. I think that would explain his risky behavior, drug addiction and troubled life.  At the same time, I can’t help but get the sense of what a generous, big-hearted, intelligent, humble, grounded person he was, who was grateful for what he had but at the same time, scared and unsure of what to do.

Apparently he was very cognizant of the world politically and it affected him deeply how much people were suffering and used his money to help others. I don’t know if you know people like this in your own life, but there’s a certain type of decent person who gets terribly shy and embarrassed when they get caught doing something good or other people see them doing something good. So to avoid the embarrassment, they do everything secretly. I’m almost certain George Michael was like that just based on the stories which are coming out now. He was constantly making fun of himself in interviews. I don’t think he fully realized just how much joy his music bought to his fans and what his music meant to millions on an emotional level or how much of a gay icon he was and is.

One of my personal heroes is Queen guitarist Brian May. Michael of course did a blistering rendition of Queen’s “Somebody to Love” at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert which surviving members of Queen have gone on the record to say it was the best version they had ever seen. May tweeted this about Micheal’s death and I think he pretty much nailed it. “I don’t have the words. This year has cruelly taken so many fine people way too young. And George? That gentle boy? All that beautiful talent? Can’t begin to compute this. RIP George. Sing with Freddie. And the Angels.”

December 2016 Astrology – The Fog Lifts…somewhat

I seriously have not been in the mood to write at all since the election of the orange warthog.

Mostly because of just complete and utter disgust. There’s no point at this stage in pointing fingers only to say that the so-called political left in the US failed completely. First, the DNC by back-stabbing Bernie Sanders, probably the last decent man left in Senate for the sake of getting Hillary in. Second, so-called “progressives” who in an instant left the progressive camp and reverted back to the “liberal” camp when the fear factor set in. Instead of standing for their principles and protesting in the streets when Sanders was jettisoned (which they should have done), they let their worst fears guide them and they manifested it. Let this be a lesson that when collective fear sets it, it can realize its own worst nightmare scenario.

A few observations (not that I expect anyone to care):

limo-lib

Liberalism as we know it is OUT, true progressives and real leftists are IN. The Democratic Party became the party of the champagne socialists and limousine liberals, in short people who are wealthy, well-connected, very much interested in keeping their money growing in place, but interested in liberal causes, things like affirmative action, being pro-choice for women, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, minority rights. All good things to be sure but they lost sight of the true struggle. To use a Marxist-Leninist term which many Americans are very uncomfortable with, they lost sight of the CLASS struggle which this planet is engulfed in right now and which is now in their own backyard.

Marx's theory on class struggle has suddenly become relevant...

Marx’s theory on class struggle has suddenly become relevant…

The Democrats allied themselves with the 1% but the part of the 1% which is liberal in orientation. I’m talking about billionaire creeps like Jeffrey Epstein, Ron Burkle, Steve Bing, Silicon Valley princes like Sergei Brin, Mark Zuckerberg, media influencers like Lewis Lapham, that moron Rachel Maddow, and of course titans of Wall Street like folks over at Goldman Sachs and defense contractors like Raytheon. People with money who aren’t suffering at all. In fact, they should be called neo-liberals, not liberals because of the fusion with big money. The DNC became a party of ISSUES (and in the case of the Clintons, corporate opportunism) instead of CLASS. The DNC turned their back on the working poor, the middle class and blue-collar class, the marginalised, people who are really suffering. This is where the votes were. This is where the discontent is. This is where real power lies. Trump played this crowd like a fiddle and got in. He understood that kind of populism, albeit the vulgar variety.

The DNC don’t have fuck-all “soul-searching” to do. They just need to admit that “Clintonism” is OVER. If they want to win elections in the future, they need to turn their back on Big Money and go back to the proletariat. Fuck $10 000 per plate private fund-raisers in Beverly Hills and go back to crowd-funding from regular Joes like the way Bernie Sanders did this past year. I don’t have a lot of hope for the political left in the US. The old-guard pro-corporate Democrats and neo-liberals just don’t get it and don’t want to let go. Unless they’re flushed out, I don’t see change coming in that direction.

I do however see change coming from the masses, and in particular the young. The mass protests, the spontaneous mobilization of people and resources FROM THE GROUND UP is very, very hopeful. Green Party’s Jill Stein was the most unlikely candidate to come forward yet here she is, the so-called underdog, raising $6.5 million in less than a week, again from grass-roots crowd-funding for recounts in states which had razor-thin wins for Trump, states which are also traditionally Democrat yet went Republican, namely Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

Stein and the Greens have virtually nothing to gain from a recount, it’s not like they win anything, but Stein is a Harvard-trained medical doctor. And any doctor will tell you when they think something is wrong, diagnostic tests are called for, blood tests, urine tests , ultrasounds and x-rays. Likewise, I see absolutely nothing wrong is running regular diagnostics on any electoral system, make sure everything is working correctly. Of course Trump has gone ape-shit over this, and the Democrats only quietly gave their support AFTER Stein filed the official paperwork in Wisconsin. Further proof of how yellow-bellied the DNC is if you ask me. And no, George Soros isn’t funding Dr. Stein.

Another thing: The mainstream media, newspaper columnists, television political pundits, political scientists failed completely. Not one of them, not a single political scientist or academic correctly predicted Trump, save maybe three. One is Brown University professor, Mark Blyth, who has coined the term “Global Trumpism”.

The other died last year, Professor Sheldon Wolin who coined the term “Inverted Totalitarianism”.

The third is Slovenian rock-star Marxist philosopher Slavoj Zizek. Zizek is also correct that this is the best possible time to re-organize, re-strategize and re-think everything.

As far as I’m concerned the mainstream media need to be buried and forgotten about. Alternative media (and I don’t mean fake news sites either), independent researchers, dedicated vloggers and bloggers will be the way of the future.

So, what the hell does any of this have to do with December 2016’s astrology? Both Carl Boudreau and Steve Judd have pointed out there is a very strange and unusual influx of energy in the last week or so of December. Nothing has been set in stone and this is still a fluid situation. To use imagery from the tarot deck, The Fool has shown up. God knows what kind of monkey-wrench he’ll throw into the machinery.
Brace yourselves but do it happily.

November 2016 Astrology – And the World Waits with Bated Breath…

bated

You’d have to be living on Pluto to not realize that next week’s general election in the US will have spill-over effects and ramifications for the rest of us on planet Earth, something which I’ve noticed many Americans who don’t own passports, don’t seem to notice.

I’ve stayed quiet deliberately about these elections given that I see rants from all sides of the aisle every time I log on to the ‘puter. People who were wildly pro-Bernie becoming pro-Hilary. People who I thought were more libertarian suddenly becoming Trump fanatics, like Alex Jones. Hillary’s emails. Anthony Weiner. Wikileaks. Russian hackers. Idiocy which comes out of Trump’s mouth or his own history practically every 2 seconds. It’s really not an election anymore. In the word’s of the wise George Carlin, being born on Planet Earth is a ticket to the freak show, while being born in America means a front row seat.

Whoever America elects, it will be the person the country deserves. Having an intensely-guarded political system that they do, which only allows a binary choice, which was only able to cough up two intensely despicable candidates is a sign of political and ideological immaturity. Like a bunch of cheerleaders, everything is “Ra, Ra, Ra”, hunky dory between election cycles and then come election time, it’s a horserace to the finish line.

I hate Trump because of everything. Race baiting. Misogyny. Bigotry. Corruption. His family. His persona. His hair. Support from the KKK. Just everything. I don’t like Hillary Clinton because I’m afraid she’s going to start a war with either Iran or nuclear Russia or both. She’s deep enough in the pockets of the defence industry and defence contractors like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, that if war is in their best interests and they tell her to do it, she will, given how much they give to the Clinton Foundation. (And if she does, to any Hillary voter, don’t say you didn’t know.) If you don’t believe me, go listen to Eisenhower Republican Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff for Colin Powell and now teaches public policy at the College of of William and Mary. He was actually one of the architects of the Iraq war but then realized the whole thing was fraudulent and did a 180 degree turn.

The astrological climate is NOT clear. In fact astrologers are saying that whoever is elected will probably either be a one-term president or will not complete their term and that the election, like in 2000, may be highly contested. Whoever gets in, will surely have one of the most dogged presidencies ever.

Other than that, it would seem things in the cosmos are finally going forward after either stagnating or causing confusion. The bottleneck has finally opened up.

October 2016 Astrology – Take Cover and Duck

It would seem that October 2016 may be one of those months that goes down into the history books. Maybe not world history but more likely in our own personal history books and journals.

Astrologers seem to be feeling both excitement and trepidation over October 2016. One thing that seems unanimous is that the third week of October from the 17th to the 23rd would be a good time to call in sick, disappear, make yourself scarce and just get the hell out of the way of the symbolic chairs which may be flying during the proverbial bar room brawl and wait it out until the dust settles.

Brutal, yank-you-out-of-humdrum-change seems to be the name of the game here. There’s also the Black Moon which the Eastern Hemisphere will experience on the 30th or 31st which will coincide with Halloween. Catholics celebrate All Saints Day on November 1st, but that’s not a coincidence. It’s just a newer incarnation of the pagan festival of All Hollow’s Eve when the veils between dimensions thinned and old pagan and Druidic priests and priestesses (they called it Samhain) were able to peer over to the other side.

Of note is the trigger-happy Mars-Pluto conjunction on Oct. 19th. Carl Boudreau writes:

“The conjunction will be a powerfully disruptive event in and of itself. Both Pluto and Mars will be in forward motion. The conjunction is taking place in cardinal signs. Also, this is the first (and only) time the conjunction will be exact. These factors suggest a powerful detonation. The Mars/Pluto conjunction will build on the aftershocks of the eclipses. The general excess of lunar energy will further multiply its psychosocial side effects. The Mars/Pluto conjunction on October 19, then, looks like a high impact Mars/Pluto encounter. It will doubtless generate some very upsetting headlines in the runup, during, and in the aftermath of the blast. The natural and man-made disasters, the violent confrontations, the bitter public controversies it inflames will be impressive, I think. But the potentially catastrophic effects will be the least of it. They are likely to be limited in number and localized. The conjunction’s effects on our politics, however, will be intense and pervasive and, in all likelihood, will affect most of us quite personally.”

If you need to change yourself or your life for the better, putting things off when you know you should just deal with it, this is the time to do it, in a good way. You may end up being swept up with roaring, thunderous waves and currents, but if you hang tight to a log, kick off your shoes, keep your head above the water, the river may just take you to places you’ve only dreamt of.

September 2016 Astrology – Falling Idols, The Wetiko Illness and David Icke in NYC

I don’t know what it has been like in your neck of the woods, but it’s been a strange, strange summer for almost everyone I know. With the alternative research community going crazy over the Zen Gardner fallout, it now looks like Aussie researcher Max Igan has outed another so-called “Truth Warrior”, Ken O’Keefe.

(There’s a pretty hilarious fellow who goes by the name of C.W Chanter who has been posting videos about all this stuff on Youtube lately if any of you are interested).
Ken and Max in Gaza in better times (2013)

Ken and Max in Gaza in better times (2013)

For those of you that don’t know, Ken is a former Navy Seal-turned-save-the whales-activist-turned-Save-Palestine activist (he was on the Gaza flotilla when it was raided by Israeli soldiers in international waters a few years ago). He’s been highlighted on places like RT and PressTV for his stridently pro-Palestinian stance but according to Max, it turns out he made some bullshit non-profit drive called ‘World Citizens Solutions‘ and pocketed the donations to go buy land in Dominica and retire.
With this back-and-forth with Old Man Saturn in Sagittarius, the planet of karma doing his dance around the sign of higher progressive thought and philosophy, in some ways I’m not surprised some of these guys are being outed now. There will be more to come, not just in the alt research community but everywhere else I’m afraid.
I’m a firm believer that you have to listen and watch news sources you never would normally do if you really want the truth on anything. Remember the cardinal rule: There’s always three sides to any story, your’s, the other person’s and the Truth is usually somewhere in between. Syrian leader Bashar Al Assad gave a fantastic interview to MSNBC a few weeks ago, made the journalist look like a bumbling idiot and exposed American and Western intervention in the Middle East for what it really is: an attempt to destabilise the entire region, institute regime change (i.e.. put in a puppet leader who will follow the orders of Washington and London ahead of the best interests of their own people) , create a new and larger Israel and pave the way for Americans to get into and control Central Asia. Assad is many things but stupid isn’t one of them. Before politics, he was a trained ophthalmologist and doctor. Hezbollah leader, Nasrallah goes into exact detail why this is happening. ISIS is an American/Saudi/UAE/Israeli creation and paid proxy. Nothing more. Once everyone understands that, the jig is up.

From what both Carl Boudreau and Steve Judd have indicated, there will be an intense series of eclipses taking place which are going to rattle people and places. There’s a solar eclipse on September 1st and then another lunar one on September 16th and a Mercury retrograde happening the whole time. Steve predicts more geological changes and people’s irritability buttons are gong to be pushed, big time.
“This surge of eclipse energy from the mutable T-Square will accelerate the demise of global oligarchy and hasten the end of the gross political and economic inequality threatens global stability. The eclipse energies will trigger and accelerate karmic consequences for using dishonest and manipulative language. This will further cleanse our politics and economics of toxic rhetoric and hasten the end of the oligarchic institutions and practices that it supports. “
So it would seem whether you are a powerful oligarchy, a mighty government and military with a false sense of entitlement, the myths of nationalism or an internet New Age shyster on a soapbox, your words are going to come back to haunt you. Truth only needs two things to help it come out: Perfect Timing and Perfect Opportunity. That’s an iron law.
————————————————————————————–
Because of this whole Zen Gardner fall-out, one of the side effects is that a certain Native American word has been making the rounds on many sites lately. It started out on Paul Levy’s website where he talks about “wetiko”, a psycho-spiritual illness which induces blind-spots which makes people to destroy the very base the live on, the land, the air and the water (it’s not a coincidence that the stand-off between pipeline companies and Native American tribes is now taking place in North Dakota over access to safe water. Chief Arvol Looking Horse of the Lakota nation has put out a statement on this and it is well-worth reading and thinking about.)
Wetiko—whose origin is within the human psyche—induces a psychological blindness such that those who have fallen under its spell not only think of themselves as sighted, but arrogantly believe they are more sighted than those who are clear-sighted. Instead of inducing people to see hallucinations that are not there, in what can be thought of as a “negative hallucination” the wetiko bug makes people unable to see what is there. Wetiko (I could—and did—write a book about it called Dispelling Wetiko: Breaking the Curse of Evil) can be thought of as a mind-virus that covertly operates through the blind-spots of the unconscious in such a way that those under its spell become its unwitting instruments to act it out—destructively—in the world while, at the same time, this virus of the mind surreptitiously hides itself from being seen.”
And that folks, is the basis of capitalism, indoctrination and the cult of individualism, right there.
Wetiko is what makes you look for more when you already have enough. Wetiko is what makes you afraid to share. Wetiko makes you suspicious of others. Wetiko is a hunger in the mind and soul which constantly needs to keep eating, buying and taking because it is never satisfied. Wetiko makes you covetous of what others have. It makes you want things you don’t really need. Wetiko is when you want something, know its inappropriate for you but don’t want to admit it so you look for an excuse, reason or justification to take it (I would say this is 99% of academic work and justifications for continued white privilege and cultural appropriation). In fact, it sums up the greedy colonial and imperialistic mindset very neatly, if you ask me, whether its Spanish, English, American or Chinese. If this world will have any chance at all, we all need to individually overcome Wetiko. Naming and identifying an illness is usually the first step to treating it.

Speaking of idols, David Icke has finished up his Australia and New Zealand portion of his world speaking tour. I’m heading down to New York next week for a few days off and to take in his Brooklyn show. A friend saw him in Sydney (and momentarily met him too, outside the venue) and said it was worth every minute even if it is an all-day show. I’m almost positive that the New York and especially the L.A show will be filled with celebrity and insider types given that folks like Jim Carey and Johnny Depp and practically every sci-fi screenwriter in Hollywood in the last 15 years follow Icke’s work.
Untitled-3-19
If there are any readers who want to meet up for tea or drinks, let me know, my email address is on my profile picture. I’m always up for connecting to new people and new faces. (David, if you do read this, I’ll be sitting somewhere near the front and will have an outrageous mango-orange colored hoodie on, waving like crazy).
More info. to follow.

August 2016 Astrology – Something Wicked This Way Comes

By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes.

– Macbeth, Act VI , William Shakespeare
I wasn’t going to write anything for August but given how unanimous many astrologers are about August’s outlook, at the very least, I owe it to my readers to warn them of the potential harm ahead to help steer people away.

This summer has already proven itself to be a doozy and it isn’t even over yet.
In the US, I think it has also been exacerbated by the Trump presidential campaign. It seems every racist, bigot, KKK member have crawled out from underneath the rocks they were hiding under and are on full display. Proudly I might add.

A proper picture of Donald trump, with the fly sitting unnoticed on his hair. Flies usually land and stay on spits which are very dirty. Next time you see some dog shit on the sidewalk, you'll notice all the flies sitting on it.

A proper picture of Donald Trump, with the fly sitting unnoticed on his hair. Flies usually land and stay on spots which are very dirty. Next time you see some dog shit on the side-walk, you’ll notice all the flies sitting on it.

I too watched the bits and pieces of the Republican convention ( I couldn’t watch too much or I felt like vomiting ) and the catastrophe which was the Democratic convention. I make no secret that I was really hoping Bernie Sanders would get the nomination but alas, our worst suspicions turned out to be true. Wikileaks exposed that the DNC rigged the nominating process against him from Day 1 and DNC chairperson Debbie Wasserman-Schultz had made a sweetheart deal with Hillary Clinton a long time ago. I doubt the DNC will ever get the confidence and trust of progressive voters but it would seem that a possible Trump presidency is the biggest evil to deal with. However if anyone thinks that Shillary Clinton will stick to the progressive platform the DNC nailed out, they are in for a rude awakening. Already Wall Street money has come roaring back in funding her campaign after lying low during the nomination process. If people don’t wise up soon, it will only get worse. A good starting point is getting over the whole race thing. Legendary anti-racist activist and educator Jane Elliott nails it.

Americans don’t seem to realize how a Trump presidency will destabilize the rest of the world. He’d be trigger happy with the nuclear codes . Professor Noam Chomsky has said that it was these neo-tards, neoconservatives and neoliberals which have created this situation. It started way back with Ronald Reagan and every successive presidency since has added to the damage. The loss of jobs due to trade deals (NAFTA, upcoming TTP) , the death of the manufacturing sector, less and less job security, dis-empowering or banning unions and workers rights, empowering banks and big business, costly foreign wars, spiralling healthcare and university costs, income disparity. You can thank the neo-tards for all this.

Trump is just the natural outcome of such policies which really sickens me. (If you really want to know who Trump’s mastermind is, it’s a goon like Republican mastermind and operator Roger Stone (who funny enough, I find physically resembles another noted sleaze ball, pedophile Jimmy Saville)  and that blowhard asshole Alex Jones. Watch this confrontation between Stone and Jones with the Young Turks’ host Cenk Uygur and it gives you a pretty good idea of what Republican operators are really like behind the scenes and what an opportunistic shit-disturber Alex Jones really is)

It’s not just politics as usual folks. Things are teetering on a very precarious edge right now. Irish mystic Lorna Byrne, a lady who claims that she sees angels all the time, has said that the spiritual world is indeed getting ready for war. Maybe not for today or tomorrow, but she has said that the forces of good and evil are indeed gathering.

Lorna Byrne

Lorna Byrne

Maybe she has apocalyptic visions, I don’t know, but if a thin-skinned, tangerine-coloured narcissistic warthog like Trump wins the presidency and carries the nuclear briefcase which he will have the codes to, it’s not a stretch to reconcile Lorna’s visions with what may happen. People need to take this very, very seriously. A Trump presidency will plunge the planet into darkness and it will take unbelievable amounts of hard work, sweat and tears by many people to get out of it. As a person with a spiritual bent, you can’t ever lose sight of the fact that all things in the physical have their origins in the spiritual.

There is no nuclear button but there is this briefcase...

There is no nuclear button but this briefcase…

The last week of August through to the middle of September has a VERY strong and catastrophic series of eclipses and astrological configurations which anyone sensitive to energy and to the spiritual evolution of this planet would be wise to pay attention to. Carl Boudreau has written that many people’s’ lives will not be the same afterwards and Steve Judd has said that his Spidey senses are tingling that something ominous is on the horizon. Best case scenario: Nothing happens except a few bad days at the office. The only thing I will say is this: Whatever happens, learn to control your emotions. Not in a cold, callous, indifferent way but in a way where you don’t give yourself over too easily to despair, unhealthy passions, fear, worry, hatred or violent anger. That’s what the dark side feeds on. Look at things coolly and rationally and in a level-headed way. It will place you in good stead.

In the words of Ben Davidson, of Suspicious0bservers fame, eyes open, no fear Everyone.

Summer Hiatus and July 2016 Astrology

1986 film with John Cusack and Demi Moore (when they were young)

1986 film with John Cusack and Demi Moore (when they were young)

I knew this summer was going to be crazy but I had no idea it was going to be like this.

Between Brexit in the UK, Donald Trump’s assured nomination as the Republican candidate for the US elections, a Ramadan season which has killed hundreds including many Muslims, might I add (which only goes to show you how much shit ISIS really is full of). If you’re really some Muslim radical  and pushing for a so-called Caliphate, why would you kill your own then?

It makes me wonder if they are even real Muslims in their ranks or if this is a super-duper stealthy plan by Israeli Mossad to derail the Middle East completely and deflect any attention on the Palestinian issue since that has completely disappeared off the radar screen ever since ISIS appeared, and the BDS movement against Israel has gained major steam in recent years on American college campuses and with high-visibility celebrities like Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters joining the movement.

The man behind Pink Floyd's "The Wall" Roger Waters.

The man behind Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” Roger Waters.

(I had a conversation with someone recently and they think it is definitely the latter. Bangladesh was hit because it is one of the last countries on Earth if not the last one, which states openly in its passport that it cannot be used to enter Israel, one of the few countries that doesn’t recognize Israel)

Read the bottom line...

Read the bottom line…

I have had the feeling for a long time that the nation-state model will not last. This attempt at creating “super” states and regional trading blocks will also backfire eventually. People really don’t want distant bureaucrats making decisions on their behalf without their permission which will directly affect their lives.

Which is why I think the TPP deal will not be ratified widely. I don’t know a single person in Quebec who wants to drink milk from China (if it is even milk in the first place given the Chinese track-record of safe food and pollution and ingenuity in creating fake items…) but that’s exactly the sort of thing which will be allowed if this goes through.

As for the US elections, it looks like a Clinton vs. Trump election but given how crazy this summer has been already, I have no doubt in my mind that nothing can be written in stone just yet. The DNC still have their convention on July 25 -28. The DNC are desperately trying to court the votes and enthusiastic followers which Bernie Sanders gathered but it’s still not clear what he will do exactly. Bernie may still be the wild card and may throw in a hat trick or two. Many of those millennials despise Hillary and establishment politics in general. You cannot get more establishment than Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Many are even going to be casting their vote for the Green Party and Dr. Jill Stein, who comes across as very decent IMHO.

Spiritually, on a superficial level things look calm but, like the Earth itself, a beautiful scene of mountains and lakes doesn’t change the fact that deep, deep inside its core, hundreds of kilometres down, you know there are unbelievably violent and tumultuous changes and forces at work. Sometimes things stay quiet for L-O-N-G periods of time and then one day, without warning, a mountain blows its top and a volcano comes booming out of the Earth’s core. It somehow feels like that right now.

According to both Carl Boudreau and Steve Judd, there will be a series of eclipses happening in August and September and some people will have diametrically different lives before and after these eclipses. I have always maintained that as long as you are true to yourself and the deepest vision of yourself, not as who you wish to be but who you really ARE, then not very much can hurt you. People generally get into trouble when they start pretending to be someone or something they are not. If you’re a suburban husband and father for 40 odd years yet always dreamt of being a mountaineer or global traveller yet never set foot on a mountain or a country where everyone speaks a completely different language, chances are pretty good that you’re a suburban father for a reason. It’s because that’s what you really want to be even if you won’t admit it out loud. Embrace who you really are and let go of the illusions.

Enjoy your summer and stay safe Shifters!

June 2016 Astrology – The Bumpy Road Ahead

Rough-Road-Ahead
Sorry Shifters for not writing very much in the last little while. A few personal things have been going on and it doesn’t leave much room to write.
Berkeley the Pug 2005-2016. I hope you have a happy incarnation as the old wise man that you are.

Berkeley the Pug 2005-2016.

First off, my original on-line avatar, my Yoda-master-angel-in-disguise pug, Berkeley has passed on. He put up a good fight, 11 years old, with diabetes, needing insulin shots everyday, and in the end couldn’t walk any more. Despite all his physical problems, he remained happy, super-intelligent, wise and very, very affectionate. It broke everyone’s heart to put him to sleep but no one wanted him to end his days in suffering. It will always remain a mystery to me how such tiny creatures can give out so much unconditional love and warmth to everyone around them.
Formally known as the Hidden Hills, but also known as the Wisdom Hills to those in the know.

Formally known as the Hidden Hills, but also known as the Wisdom Hills to those in the know.

Secondly, I was away and spending time in Western Massachusetts with a wise-woman friend of mine, the one who writes quatrains. The area is known as the “Wisdom Hills” largely because of all the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and meditation centres there. Many high-end private schools and colleges like Deerfield Academy (where most kings and presidents send their boys off to) and Amherst College are also located there. That means many, many amazing second-hand bookshops and a highly literate and educated population base who are more inclined towards progressive thought.
Mary's gaze

Mary’s gaze

Places like Holyoke have a strong Catholic flavour and an occurrence called Mary’s Gaze happens regularly over the skies of West Springfield and Northfield.  I’ll shortly be writing something which my friend shared with me since she has given me permission to share with others on-line.
Steve Judd had mentioned that there was some kind of financial “correction” coming and Gosh! does everyone need it. The IMF has finally admitted that the doctrine of neoliberalism has done more harm than good (read: is full of shit) and all those 1%-ers know it. This also explains why property and real estate values have sky-rocketed in the past few years, particularly in places like Vancouver, Sydney, Toronto and lately Montreal.
The Russian gazillionaires have a tendency to hide their money in real estate. Usually London or New York City were their destinations of choice. If they couldn’t hide their money in off-shore accounts, what they would do was start buying up real estate and park their money that way. Now the Chinese are doing it and their destinations of choice are Australia and Canada. We’re not just talking about shady Chinese millionaires and industrialists, we’re talking about the Chinese government itself. Slowly by slowly they are deliberately buying up large parts of downtown real estate in places like Sydney, Vancouver, Singapore, Toronto and Montreal.  This inflates real estate prices completely out of the reach of middle-income families and makes home-buying only for the wealthy. It’s gotten so bad that locals can’t even afford to live in the city they grew up in and made interesting in the first place. High-income professionals like lawyers and doctors are having a hard time buying a home in Vancouver and real-estate racism is now a thing. Australia was smart. They banned the Chinese from doing it further. We’ll see if Canada smartens up. This is just to illustrate how phoney and easily manipulated things like real estate values can be and how black money truly rules most of the world.
So, it would seem the world is indeed ripe for a financial “correction” or “adjustment”.
A few Grand Crosses, a few eclipses, the summer solstice and a fidgety social world climate makes June look like the kind of month where people can lose it within seconds. Its worth your while to fade into the background and just watch from the sidelines as people go apeshit. Don’t let anything or anyone push your buttons. June looks like it’s shaping up to be some kind of a start of transformation. Let the deconstruction happen and move yourself out-of-the-way discretely.

An Omen of times to Come – April 2016 Astrology

Sorry Shifters, for putting this up a bit late but a lot has been going on the personal front on in my life in recent weeks. Mostly it’s been around my elderly dad, he was hospitalized recently and it looks like we’re going to have to put him into a home soon. It hasn’t been easy dealing with this stuff and honestly, even though I do want to write, after a day of dealing with bureaucracies and such, it leaves very little inclination to actually sit down and write. Getting old sucks. Like seriously.

Still I keep an eye on what’s been happening. Carl Boudreau said that April’s energies are very mixed.

“Fortunately, April’s charts contain a structure that will help bring order and direction to our lives – a Kite. This Kite will all but neutralize the forces of chaos and confusion, channeling them in positive, constructive channels.
However, it will not cancel ongoing turmoil and confusion. This will very likely obscure the Kite’s beneficial effects.
Kites are a combination of supportive and difficult aspects. The supportive aspects help resolve the conflicts represented by the difficult aspect.
In many instances, the aspects that make up the Kite are linked to aspects outside of the Kite. A Kite can draw in and resolve an extended range of energies. That is the case in April.
In appearance, Kites resemble a child’s kite. Like a child’s kite, an astrological Kite, when properly used, can catch the wind and rise, lifting us with it…..April will be a watershed month. The astrological forces being brought to bear in our behalf are nothing short of immense, although conditions in April could obscure that fact. Getting through April successfully might require faith in ourselves, in each other and the universe.”

A few funny cosmic things also happened in recent weeks which are worth noting. Astrology has all sorts of weird and wonderful explanations about other bodies wandering the cosmos. Stuff like asteroids and comets, for instance.  On March 17th, a giant comet or asteroid hit Jupiter and it was caught on film . Please keep this in mind, Jupiter is a gas giant. It is literally 1300 TIMES LARGER THAN EARTH. Jupiter’s gaseous nature and sheer size has attributed to Jupiter’s astrological nature as beneficent, expansive and generous as well as being lucky.
Damn.

Damn.

If you look at the video below, it’s easy to see that the size of the impact is at least the size of a few Earths. The impact is between 2 o’clock and 3 o’clock if you think of Jupiter as a clock face.
It’s a positive omen, folks. Something unpredictable but good is on it’s way. It may not be in April. The key here is that it has to be for something you’re already working on, whether it’s improving yourself spiritually or the world around you.   It’s still a confusing month since many planets are in retrograde. So it’s not good for something completely new. For that, wait till June.

Quick Head’s Up for this Weekend

Given the recent shootings in San Bernadino, CA and the fact that British Parliament under David Cameron have now voted to bomb Syria even though the British public DON’T want it, it would seem this week’s and in particular this weekend’s astrological climate is a very, very testy one and I really hate saying this, but a trigger-happy one as well. Here is former British MP, Lord Tony Benn, making a speech about NOT bombing Iraq back in 1998 (and yes, that is a young Jeremy Corbyn sitting behind him).

Carl Boudreau put out a quick post out on Facebook yesterday.
Carl wrote:
“This new, zig-zag, up and down energetic pattern that emerged at some point in the last couple of years did, in fact, become the norm. This weekend is an extreme example of this new norm.
This weekends ‘flurry’ of negative aspects, considered collectively, dramatically increases the odds of negative occurrences and the prevalence of bad attitudes.
It is always difficult to say whether or not negative aspects will produce negative events, especially at the micro- or nano- levels. They almost always do at the macro level. Your mileage may vary.
If, miraculously, these aspects do not spawn a rash of negative events at the macro level, they will certainly darken the energetics and the sensitive among us will doubtless feel this heightened negativity. Others might simply appreciate the heads up.
Be advised, then. This weekend could get rough. People could simply be feeling grumpy and more inclined to snap or confront others. Hostility will likely peak. Or violence prone individuals could feel inspired to act out. The astrological backdrop does not, however, support the idea that these aspects could trigger a global outbreak of violence.”

Steve Judd has also pretty much said that he’s laying low this weekend as well.

Astrologers have this old saying, “The stars impel, they do not compel”.  In other words, nothing is written in stone but the dance of the planets and the cosmos at times releases certain energies where the likelihood of something bad happening may suddenly spike especially if it affects certain individuals, places or events which may be more open to these energies than others. So at times like these, don’t travel if you don’t have to. Stay away from people who you know will push your buttons. Lay low, do some yoga, mind your own business. Get some reading done ( it’s good for your brain anyway).

Personally, I’m holing up at home to paint my nails, watch a marathon of Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn films and then hang out with my dad to learn how to cook Mughal-style Biryani, from scratch.
Stay safe everyone.

December 2015 Astrology – Sowing and Germination

December 2015 is shaping up to look like a time of pivotal and profound decision-making. Both Carl Boudreau and Steve Judd are on the same page on this one.

Carl writes:
“I have discussed the world’s gradual emergence from a social, political and economic imbalance that massively favored the 1%. This imbalance was caused by a planetary arrangement that first went into effect in the early 1980s.  Roughly 30 years of this imbalance left the world’s social, economic and political systems in very serious need of reform….Progressive victories are no longer sporadic (i.e the rise of Bernie Sanders, the election of Jeremy Corbyn and Justin Trudeau). They no longer seem like flukes. Hope and the determination to bring change are quietly suffusing global collective consciousness. ..The astrological tables have turned. The economic and political tables appear to be turning also. Many of us want to hear that trickles of reform will soon combine into surging, torrents of reform. But the planets are telling us something different. They seem, rather, to be talking about long, slow, carefully thought out changes.
I know that many want to see a global surge – a rapid and sustained acceleration – of progressive reform. We want to see the collective consciousness lit brightly from within with a burning enthusiasm for sensible, realistic, practical, lasting, but above all, quick reform….The charts, then, are talking more about process than they are about substance, or content. The planets are saying that rather than a shared passion for reform, the people of the world will develop a shared passion for careful reasoning, guided by a will to heal, uplift and preserve, colored by a will to fairness and compassion. That is not the same thing as a unified global reform movement.”

Is the end near?

Is the end near?

With climate-change talks happening in Paris as I write this, several newspapers declaring that it is the end of reality TV (Thank God!), McDonald’s, once a teflon-like corporate behemoth, is set to close almost 700 restaurants around the world and has been facing sliding sales the past few years due to changing consumer tastes, and Black Friday sales this past week at a record low, consumers are less interested in buying cheap, shitty stuff they don’t really need but are now wanting to spend their money on accruing experiences instead. It would seem that on a deeper, even subconscious level, there is an underground change which is germinating. In my mind that’s a sign, even a small, incremental one, of some emotional and spiritual maturity taking place. We’ll see if it catches on within the larger public and the masses.

The thing with changing directions towards something better is that there is an awful lot of hard work involved. The easiest thing on Earth is to stay where you are and keep doing what you’ve always done and NOT change your routine or habits. Personally, I think that’s the reason so many people are miserable, they simply don’t want to change their routine.

We all want to see things turn out for the best, we all want happiness, respect and love for ourselves and others, we all want to live on a planet which provides us with clean air to breath, clean water to drink, healthy food to nourish us, a roof over our heads to keep us safe and warm, we all want to find meaning in our lives and experiences. However despite what New Age potboiler, well-intentioned but misguided marketing non-profit campaigns and a market economy that wants to keep you in place as a mindless consumer and a powerless vessel for corporate and political entities, change only happens when every last one of us puts our shoulder to the wheel. You have to work your ass off if you want real change and not just hope that somebody else or some external factor will do it for you. It takes some gumption and guts. To paraphrase Sarah Harrison of Wikileaks, courage is contagious.

Legendary French film director Louis Malle did an epic 7-part documentary series on India called “Phantom India” back in 1968/9 which was aired on French TV and then eventually the BBC. In a lifetime of work which included the beloved “My Dinner with Andre” and “Atlantic City”, Malle considered “Phantom India” the pinnacle of his work. (All 7 parts are up on Youtube, just be sure to hit the CC button on the bottom of each video to get English subtitles since it is all in French.)
He ended the series in part 7 with the following words and a dramatic visual scene of men literally pushing a cartload of salt along railway tracks with the brute force of their own bodies. (from 49:09 in the video below.)

“In India we discovered with wonder, another way of being, another way of living and seeing the world that made us all feel nostalgic, like a secret forever lost. But we felt all along it was a world living on borrowed time. Here, where the population is greater than Africa and South America combined, modern life increasingly takes the form of man exploiting his fellow man.”

We still have some time to change Malle’s last words in the film. We still have some time to rediscover that lost secret. But not by much.

Unemployed Angels (and July 2015 Astrology)

A few weeks ago I watched this interview between noted alternative ancient archaeology researcher Graham Hancock and Lorna Byrne.

For those of you who read alternative sites regularly or listen to shows like Coast to Coast AM, or watch “Ancient Aliens” on the History Channel, Hancock’s name is a familiar one. A former reporter for The Economist, Hancock’s books explain ancient pre-history with a clarity and rigor which is often lacking in other researchers hence why their work is super easy to dismiss.
Hancock, along with Rupert Sheldrake, also has the distinction of being one of the very few persons to have their TED talks yanked off the TED website, because of their “lack of evidence”.
Until I watched the above video, I had never heard of Lorna Byrne but it turns out she’s one of the foremost experts in the world on angelology (as opposed to demonology). Lorna sees angels and has been seeing them her whole life. She kept it to herself for most of her life until she decided to write a book about it, “Angels in my Hair”, and subsequently, many others.

For those of you who may not know, Graham Hancock took a year off from being in the public eye, mostly due to an incident that had happened to him while on a series of Ayahuasca sessions. Apparently, during those sessions, he encountered a negative entity of some sort and it shook him up so badly that he needed the time off in order to process what he had experienced (from letter 4 onwards). It’s one thing to read about demons and the devil or hear about it or watch films about it, but when you actually encounter something, it is a completely different ballgame so I can understand why he decided to disappear from the public for a while. It also makes sense why he would seek out Lorna and have a chat with her about angels.
Intrigued, I went out and got Lorna’s book and it is a very, very accessible read. Lorna takes the mystical and makes it familiar and immediate. There’s no high-falutin’ language or esoteric terms which you need to look up in a glossary or anything of the sort.
I find when I read accounts of mystical experiences from the likes of say Emmanuel Swedenborg, St. Hildegard von Bingen or William Blake ,very often, it can get so esoteric, so vague and so outside of the realm of anything even remotely relate-able, that unless you have the exact same visions or experiences, you’ll never understand what they are talking about. Lorna’s experiences are the total opposite of that – it was nice to read about beings in this universe that actually care about us, for once.
"Angels appearing to the Shepherds" by William Blake

“Angels appearing to the Shepherds” by William Blake

As is usually the case, Lorna has been called out as a fraud and a charlatan, but after reading her book and in particular her descriptions of how angels and positive entities appear and work, it sounded so similar to the artwork of Canadian mystic Alma Rumball  and how Alma portrayed these energies, that it goes beyond coincidental, it is a correlation.
The Angel Gabriel - by Alma Rumball, from the Alma Rumball Facebook page

The Angel Gabriel – by Alma Rumball, from the Alma Rumball Facebook page

One thing which I found particularly touching which Lorna wrote was that the angels feel neglected and “unemployed”, everyone is so preoccupied with the bad stuff that we overlook the good stuff and the good allies which are there to help. All we need to do is ask and look for the signs.
Which leads me to July’s astrology. After June’s euphoria, it’s understandable that things are a bit of a let-down afterwards. It’s time to wait, ponder, build a better mouse-trap and just try to “be” because apparently things are going to build up again in August.
I’m off on holiday.
I’m going to ask the angels along as well.
We’ll see what happens 🙂

June 2015 Astrology – The Game Changer has Arrived

In all my years of reading, listening or watching  astrological forecasts, I have never seen anything quite like this. It would seem like the heavens themselves are opening a powerful and POSITIVE door of opportunity and perception which many of us have not seen nor experienced in years. For those of you who want and welcome positive change, your chance has come. For those of you who dislike positive change for whatever cockamamie reason, you will get it too.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Change is an inevitable fact of life, it becomes easier to deal with when you yourself direct the change and are proactive as opposed to being reactive and allow change to direct you.
The gist of this month is this: Take back your power, take it back from corporations, marketing companies, bullying teachers, spouses or parents, religion, any kind of “ism” which implanted ideas into your mind which no longer serve you and/or which continue to hold you back.
Have an awesome Strawberry Moon Month!
(P.S Shout-out to Steve Judd – Steve was in Montreal in May and I had the pleasure of meeting him and having a delightful reading with him. If he’s ever in your neck of the woods, book a reading with him. Highly, highly recommended!)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Cumulatively, astrological conditions in June mark a historical watershed – a major historical turning point. June’s composite chart describes a veritable vortex, or maelstrom, of powerful transformative energies that will dramatically affect our feelings and our ideas about the world we live in…. …It is impossible that the world could survive the release of this much transformative energy, however essentially benevolent, without numerous and notable mishaps on a collective and individual level. The complexity, intensity and volume of energies are such that it will be impossible, or highly unrealistic, to connect many events with specific astrological causes. …We must be prepared for the unexpected and not jump to conclusions about the meaning of events. Collective Consciousness and You … We are beginning to understand and, indeed, experience ourselves, as caught up in collective consciousness….With the advent of concepts like “political correctness” in the 1980s and 90s, we have all begun taking personal responsibility for identifying, correcting and fighting back against errors in collective consciousness. The advent of the internet has made personal involvement with mass consciousness a day-to-day reality. The collective consciousness is no longer an abstract, impersonal force, located somewhere “out there,” as it was once thought to be. It is something that touches our lives intimately on a day to day, moment to moment basis…. Management of the collective consciousness is no longer left to academics, politicians, marketing firms and government agencies. Increasingly, we are all beginning to take responsibility for the quality of ideas in collective consciousness and how we allow them to affect us. June 2015 – Why Now, Though? If the planets are related to the intensity and frequency of the inner crises many are reporting, why did those crises begin only recently. I think the answer is fairly simple and it is apparent in June’s charts….Our personal transformative process is being drawn into and affected by the global transformative processes. I think that much is clear…. Numberless individuals, groups, agencies, and so on at all levels, across the globe, are deeply rethinking their policies on issues of major social importance. Without exaggeration, it could take years, perhaps many years before we fully appreciate the nature and extent of the changes triggered by June’s aspects. We are experiencing a profound, simultaneous purging of the individual and collective consciousness in very high energy, high pressure conditions that will peak in June….I will not even begin to pretend that it’s possible to describe this process in words or traces specific causes and effects. Let’s just say something like a nuclear fusion reaction is taking place in the core of our collective consciousness. That reaction is affecting each of us at a core energetic level.

May 2015 Astrology – A Re-Boot is a-comin’

Good news Folks – we’re finally entering a period of relative calm and less drama. Yes, milk will still stink up if you leave it out in the Sun for too long, that’s just chemistry, physics and common sense, but it looks like many of us are going to be blessed with less trying times, even if it is only for the spring and summer (or autumn and winter for my Southern Hemisphere readers).
Both Carl Boudreau and Steve Judd are being cautiously optimistic but I for one, can’t help but feel like the toxic, nauseous cloud many of us have been living under for the past few years has finally lifted. This is a golden window of opportunity – max it out for all you can. To paraphrase the author Salman Rushdie, when in doubt, go for broke. You’ve got nothing to lose and what’s the worst that can happen?
Carl wrote what I think is one of his most optimist postings yet. Below are some highlights worth keeping in mind.
Rethinking Almost Everything

Summary

Amid lingering inner and outer turbulence and fresh, new obstacles, a new space is opening for healing and progress. Despite confused thoughts and feelings, mixed signals and conflicting expectations, there will be moments of clarity, communication and cooperation. Things will be accomplished. We will be able to reconcile our rapidly evolving inner needs with the demands of our most important relationships. Supportive social networks will grow and strengthen. Current planetary alignments hold great promise. For all the turbulence and confusion, we are moving into promising new territory. Just maybe not as smoothly or as quickly as we expected based on memories of the good ol’ days. It’s time to stow your pessimism and expect better things.

The Upside

The Jupiter/Saturn/Uranus trine relationship in fire signs, in effect until August, is providing synchronicity and traction. But there’s another source of astrological support I have not yet mentioned….

More Upside

Saturn in Sagittarius, Pluto in Capricorn, Neptune in Pisces and Uranus in Aries are forming a series of sextiles, semi-sextiles and trine relationships. This sustained and sustaining bracelet of positive aspects will be in effect for years into the future….

These planets are capable of forming very difficult aspects, as we all know. For now, they are working together harmoniously. They are making new things possible, reducing friction, increasing momentum, and providing a broad, inclusive stream of positive synchronicity and constructive synergies. They will help us work around any difficult aspects that do come along….

Resistance to positive change will continue to weaken. Under this set of powerfully enabling and empowering aspects, the social, economic, legal and political backdrop of our lives will change for the better in innumerable ways. (Steve Judd in some of his other videos is predicting a marked shift to the left in global politics given that many countries are facing federal elections this year including the UK, Spain, Canada and of course the USA)The legal, economic, political and physical infrastructure for a new and very different world will come quietly into being.

A lot of it will happen while we aren’t paying attention, though. Regardless, our lives will steadily improve and spirits will lift…

The Devaluation of Truth

“Cosmic Intelligence has given us a will, so that we can make it the instrument of our higher nature by placing it at the service of a high ideal. The first step is to understand and apply some essential truths. Once you have understood an essential truth, use your will to put it into practice, in the knowledge that this is the only way to understand it fully. It is easy to state truths; anybody can go and find them in the works of a few sages and then repeat them parrot-fashion. By doing, so they may gain the respect of a few people blind enough not to see how ignorant and weak they really are. But deceiving the blind is not a very great achievement! In any case, there are others, who see things clearly and are not so easily fooled: the beings of light in the invisible world. In fact, it is these entities whose respect we must earn, and we will earn it by applying the truths the initiates and sages reveal to us. These truths are true weapons, and we will never find better ones for winning life’s battles. But we need an arm to be able to use them – that is, the will to put them into practice.”

Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov

Chomsky and David Barsamian

Years ago, I remember watching an interview with Professor Noam Chomsky with journalist David Barsamian. I can’t find the clip in question but the gist of it was that Chomsky was saying that most people in academia and research these days, professors, researchers, scientists, are in fact professional liars, they’re actually trained to be as such. At the time, I didn’t and couldn’t understand what he was saying given that the way academia works is that research papers are submitted for publication for respected journals and usually have to go through a rigorous process of peer-review and questioning, which is usually meant to flush out any inconsistencies prior to publication.

It is only recently I’ve come to understand  that truth has a relatively insignificant value in public intellectual life, in academic life, in literary life. Ideology matters much more. Personal comfort matters more. Careerism matters more.  As long as you can prove things in theory and on paper, you’re golden but never mind how those theories may play out in the real world or who it may hurt or what kind of havoc it can create it its wake once they are put into practice. Economists in particular  use a word, “externalities” in their models to account and justify some of these unforeseen damages but yet they do fuck-all about it just as long as they can get those additional letters behind their name, get a cushy job in academia or consulting and watch the numbers increase in their bank account and train other students to think and act like them, preferably using their own research and ideas to buffer up their own legacy.

This is really encapsulated in Julien Benda’s book, “The Treason of the Intellectuals”, which is based in this binary notion that there are two competing sets of values in the world: fame and fortune on the one side, truth and justice on the other side. The gist of Benda’s book is, the more committed you are to truth and justice, the less you’re going to see of fame and fortune and the more committed you are to fame and fortune, the less you will see of truth and justice.
Sometimes you will see those with fame and fortune try to pursue truth and justice to devastating effect and they end up being blacklisted like babe-alicious actor and activist Viggo Mortensen.
King Aragorn has become a silver fox. Mortensen went on the Charlie Rose Show once with a T-shirt emblazoned with "No Blood for Oil" - afterwards, his Hollywood career stalled with the exception of working with visionary director David Cronenberg.

King Aragorn has become a silver fox. All this and a conscience too (Le sigh). Mortensen went on the Charlie Rose Show once with a T-shirt emblazoned with “No Blood for Oil” – afterwards, his mainstream Hollywood career stalled with the exception of working with visionary director David Cronenberg.

Other times, it just comes off as disingenuous, fake and trite like Princess Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent effort to feed her family on $29 a week on a food stamp challenge… and threw in the towel after 4 days. It would seem to me you’re better off pursuing truth and justice and in the course of doing so, you may end up with the fame and fortune later on…but there is no guarantee of that either.
Gwynnie-poo's $29 haul which was supposed to feed her family for a week. Do you really need 7 limes?

Gwynnie-poo’s $29 haul which was supposed to feed her family for a week. Do you really need 7 limes?

I remember in the early 1990s, you could only get Chomsky books via special order from his publisher Black Rose Books at anarchist bookshops. Nowadays, there are whole shelves devoted to his titles in mainstream bookshops and people like Radiohead have his books on their tour buses. It’s been interesting to watch the pendulum shift.
Yeah, I get that "orange is the new black" but seriously, you should be wearing orange in a prison Hillary, not as a pantsuit.

Yeah, I get that “orange is the new black” but seriously, you should be wearing orange in a prison Hillary, not as a pantsuit.

I see this dichotomy now over, and over and over again in practically every sphere of modern-day life. Whether it is politicians with checkered pasts making bids for leadership like Hillary Clinton, shady but highly influential academics (and their lesser-known lackeys) with very specific agendas like White Anglo-Saxon financial and militaristic supremacy at all costs or yoga celebrities who are suddenly doing a 180 degree turn to be more “diversity-sensitive” when they themselves first perpetuated those very unattainable models of beauty and fitness and body image acceptance in the first place which now need to be dismantled completely in certain cases.
Not a lot of women will ever have a body and ability like this, with yoga or not.

Not a lot of women will ever have a body and ability like this, with yoga or not.

(I’m talking to you Kathryn Budig – you don’t go from modeling toeSox butt-naked as a white, thin, super-bendy blonde California woman to suddenly being the champion of  “loving your body” and “diversity” for people who are anything but white, thin, super-bendy blonde and from California. That’s almost as bad as when Christopher Hitchens went from Noam Chomsky to George W. Bush  in the course of one day during 9-11. You only jump ship like that if you’re already looking for an “out” or if you’re an ideological opportunist to begin with and wanting to join a certain bandwagon because it is popular or lucrative.)
The astrological climate suggests that this is going to be a relatively calm, drama-free spring and summer. Usually when things are calm and easy, people usually get a bit lax and put their guards down. With all these upcoming elections in the US, Canada and the UK, in fact I would argue it might even be advisable to strengthen them up a bit. I think most politicians are full of rot anyway but I can’t shake this feeling that many of us are going to be asked in one form or another, in our own lives, what we personally stand for and value. Is it truth and justice (which will be the hard road) or the easier route of fame and fortune?
Your call, folks.

April 2015 Astrology – The Final Cleanse (for now…)

I don’t know about many of you but that Solar Eclipse and the Spring Equinox hit me like a ton of bricks. Family emergencies coming out of nowhere which have since thankfully been resolved.

J.K Rowling

J.K Rowling

J.K Rowling, the billionaire writer of the Harry Potter books, was once a struggling welfare mom who wrote the first Harry Potter book which was rejected by who knows how many publishers before it was finally accepted and the rest, as they say, became history. She’s recently written a new book which is coming out on April 14th based on a Harvard commencement speech she gave, “Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination.” The gist of the book is really about how do we embrace failure and what can it teach us.
Quite often in our goal and success-driven society, we overlook what failure is trying to tell us. And it usually takes a few calamities, maybe some drama before we understand what these things are trying to tell us about ourselves. Instead we beat ourselves up and clutch to the raft for dear life until the next catastrophe happens.
Sometimes I wonder if people who are too honest lead more difficult lives. It would seem the ones who keep their blinders on, seem to coast by easily.  Life is much more simple when you’re naïve and don’t have the mental capacity to think things out but decide to live superficially.
Which leads me to think that  people who are “deep” are usually not able to connect  with those who are naïve and superficial.  My recent experience leads me to believe you can’t over the long haul. It’s very trying and difficult.  I’ve had a few friends who would fit more on the naïve side of things, but none that were ever very close.  It’s just very difficult to talk to them about anything.  You try to present new ideas or topics for discussion and they either have no input or their input is moronic.  After that happens a couple of times I just get frustrated and it doesn’t go much further.  I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, but it would take a lot of work and patience to have that kind of friendship.  That’s when I think a relationship and friendship cleanse is necessary
This upcoming lunar eclipse is looking like another opportunity for more drama and cleansing but I think it helps immensely if we adjusted our visions and instead of reacting, instead, decided to reinterpret what situations mean and what they are trying to tell us.

Major Gateway Ahead for Serious Lightworkers

Powerful solar eclipse happening March 20, 2015

Powerful solar eclipse happening March 20, 2015

For my astrology-oriented and Pagan/White magick-oriented readers,  this is just a quick head’s up about this Friday’s solar eclipse.

It is literally taking place with the Sun in the final degree of Pisces, before entering Aries, meaning, it is taking place at the very, very end of the Zodiac wheel before entering a completely new cycle. This is a serious gate-opening for those of you who pray, meditate or do ceremony and ritual which helps you get into that mystical zone within yourself.

Detail of Pisces and Aries from stained glass window in Chartres Cathedral, France, a big-time initiation center dating back to pre-Christianity and Druidic times. (And Christians aren't supposed to believe in astrology, ha ha)

Detail of Pisces and Aries from stained glass window apparently in Chartres Cathedral, France, a big-time initiation center dating back to pre-Christianity and Druidic times.

Meanings of eclipses from a spiritual point of view are wide, varied and can be confusing. Some tradition including the Hindu one look upon them as something negative as an opening and chance for ghosts and demons to enter Earth and wreak havoc by influencing people negatively by muddling their minds and hearts.  Native Americans, particularly the Navajo on the other hand see it as a time when the earth is repainted and renewed by the Sunpainters.

Old man Saturn and his Scythe, reaping away the old and unnecessary.

Because the astrological players include some heavyweights including Old Man Saturn, the planet of time and karma, Uranus, the rebel planet of unexpected change and Pluto, the planet of deep transformation, along with the solar eclipse, involving a dance between the Earth, Moon and Sun AND the Spring Equinox, stuff is gonna  go down. Australian Sabian Symbol astrologer, Lynda Hill has some very interesting things to say about this solar eclipse.

Giant Gate ahead.

Giant Gate ahead.

I’m deciding to look at it as a Gate. An old one is closing and another one is opening. Don’t sit still. Don’t think too much about things. Do. Put the past to rest. Forgive the douche bags in your life and realize they are only operating and acting out of a limited amount of knowledge and information. Put out feelers for your dreams and anchor them by offering some tobacco to the Earth. Do and apply yourself towards things you normally wouldn’t. There is a strange energy about all this which seems to be self-correcting, pulling people into situations they are meant to be in and yanking others out from situations they aren’t meant to be in.

Brian Hendricks is a man who has learned he has terminal cancer. All five parts are worth watching but I think Parts Three and Four are where you realize he really gets it. We should all be so lucky to come to the same realizations without having an illness.

The Ides of March a-cometh (but you can hop over them as well!) – March 2015 Astrology

The Death of Caesar (1798) by Vincenzo Camuccini

The Death of Caesar (1798) by Vincenzo Camuccini

Carl Boudreau posted his thoughts on March 2015 yesterday over on FaceBook and it caused quite a tizzy among some readers who automatically jumped the gun and read it in the negative. But really, it’s not all bad. Read on.

————–

Seeming Cause for Grave Concern

There is an exact Uranus/Pluto square on March 16th. Uranus and Pluto will both be direct during the exact square. This strengthens and sharpens its explosive, disruptive potential.
The negative potential of this square is further aggravated by the effects of Mars conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. Both will be exact on the 11th, a few days before the Uranus/Pluto square on the 16th (New York Time). This powerful and harsh set of aspects suggests a sharp peak in abrasive rhetoric, repressive politics, confrontation, and, brutal and violent aggression. Realistically, we do have to expect some disturbing events in March. Political and economic pressures will come to a head. On the individual level, health and employment issues, domestic and legal issues will come to a head.
It seems to get even worse. There is a total solar eclipse on March 20th, the Vernal Equinox, and a total lunar eclipse on April 4th.
These eclipses can trigger long-pending disasters or release destructive pressure that has been building unnoticed in the background of structural integrity has been compromised over a period of time. That is why, for example, bridges suddenly collapse or pipes rupture….On the individual level, employment, health or domestic issues can reach crisis levels.

Protective Coloration
The Mars/Uranus conjunction and the Mars/Pluto square on the 11th will, indeed, make the last Uranus/Pluto square on the 16th seem worse than it is. Don’t be fooled….In reality, all it will do is set up those still committed to a dark and negative outcome for a fall as we head toward two total eclipses in a row.

The eclipses are not the universally, uniformly dark omens some might think. Eclipses can bring important issues to a head, ending costly debate and controversy. They can bring answers to longstanding questions and do all of the above in our favor. Eclipses can also remove unrealistic possibilities from consideration, leaving us to devote our energies to more realistic options.

Eclipses might not always resolve issues to our complete satisfaction. But by closing out old business, eclipses create fresh starting points, allowing us to move forward less heavily encumbered by the past.

The upcoming eclipses deepen the sense of uncertainty and foreboding surrounding these outcomes…… Going into March, we could be looking at defeat. Going into April, we could be looking at victory, or at least an agreeable compromise.

We are now moving into an energetic set up that favors the kind of inner changes and soul searching that can fundamentally change the social, economic and political dynamic.

Do not allow a few admittedly hard and potentially destructive aspects convince you to abandon hope or to drop your plans for the future.

———————
The Ides of March have historically been linked with the assassination of Julius Caesar which marked the end of the Roman Republic and the beginning of the Roman Empire. The former was participatory, elected and democratic (as much as it could be I guess, for the ancient world). The latter, fascistic, driven by ego and the cult of personality. In general, it heralded a time of uncertainty, change, confusion, unfettered expansionist imperialism and of course war. In many ways it does not sound all that different from the world we live in today.

I would also argue that there is absolutely nothing to say that there could be a “reverse” Ides of March, where the fascistic and unilateral can reverse itself to become pluralistic and participatory OR the seemingly fascistic and unilateral ends up benefitting us all.

Map of the proposed XL Key Pipeline.

Map of the proposed XL Key Pipeline.

A few examples automatically come to mind. President Obama recently vetoed the XL Keystone Pipeline project. Of course American Republicans and right-wing Albertans who are in Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s cabinet (Harper is a native Albertan and has rewarded his lackey friends in the tar sands and oil businesses handsomely) who were pushing the XL Pipeline project to Washington lobbyists have gone apeshit. Meanwhile First Nation’s groups and environmentalists are rejoicing. No one, besides those in the oil industry wanted the XL pipeline project to happen. The people have spoken.

You can put this pipe, you-know-where, Mr. Harper!

You can put this pipe, you-know-where, Mr. Harper!

Another thing, the FCC has deemed that the internet is staying free and open and that it is far too important for telecom companies (who are under the control of the NSA incidentally…) to privatize and look after it’s security. Net neutrality has won. Again the people have spoken.

Not gonna happen now, Baby!

Not gonna happen now, Baby!

What also needs to be pointed out is that these things also did not happen by themselves. Activists, bloggers, journalists, researchers, just basic concerned citizens have been working their asses off for years to make sure their concerns about these two topics have been heard. They didn’t stay at home or talk about it over dinner with a friend or two like some limousine liberals do. They did something, anything. Sometimes you can work yourself to your bone for years and have nothing to show for it and then one day, something shows up for all the effort you put in. The point being, the universe works as a pendulum and sometimes it works against you and at other times, in your favour. It’s up to you to read the ocean and decide which wave you’re going to surf.

surfer

The dark night of the soul which started for many, many people, myself included, back in 2008 due to a series of difficult astrological configurations which are setting off some very deep energies, far below the surface looks like it is coming to an end. All I can say is hang in there, keep holding on to the raft because the island is about to appear on the horizon. I’m personally in complete agreement with both Carl and Steve Judd (his global forecast is below) – this is a time to look after yourself.

Make sure everything is A-OK before the real change happens. Catch problems before they happen. Check the pipes and the plumbing in your home. Change the batteries in your home fire detector. Go for a lymphatic drainage massage. Get your annual medical check-up. Get your eyes checked. Book a few sessions of acupuncture. If you’re a lady, go for your annual gynecological exam. Get your teeth cleaned and checked up on. If there is a demonstration for an issue you are passionate about, just show up, sign a petition, whether it’s about stopping the installation of smart meters in your neighbourhood, stop the continued poaching of endangered rhinos for Vietnamese millionaires,  funding an animal shelter or rehabilitating stray dogs. Just pick something YOU care about.

Abby Martin of RT fame, has just ended her run at the wildly popular show she hosted “Breaking the Set”.  I suspect many guys liked watching her because let’s face it, she is pretty hot. I like her immensely because she is strong, smart, articulate and passionate and did a kick-ass job interviewing people and presenting her point of view on a host of “controversial” issues that the stupid mainstream media would never touch with a ten foot pole. If I were a journalist, she is exactly who I would like to be like.

Watch her closing video and pay close attention to her message.

It says it all.

Astrology for February 2015 – It’s all about Extraction, Healing and The Truth

My favorite wise astrologer Carl Boudreau posted his February 2015 astrological outlook yesterday. I’m not going to re-post in full what he wrote because I’d like to encourage people to visit his website but there are a few choice quotes which I can automatically see as relevant with respect to what’s happening in the world right now.

“Even so, I think in recent years and months, these influences have been foregrounded and kicked into high gear. And what we are seeing in the Saturn Sagittarius ingress chart is a further escalation. It could be rough until we’re all broken in on these new vibes at these new levels. We might be hearing things we never wanted to hear from people we never expected to hear them from…..In essence, the these influences will be triggering very deep and sometimes very painful mental and emotional releases. Aside from the inevitable psychological and spiritual challenges, these releases will be accompanied by conflicts in our personal and professional relationships. The energies at work in this chart will take us much closer to the root causes of the difficulties in our lives and in the world at large. We will no longer be willing to tolerate the injustice or conceal the discomfort it causes us. We will be compelled to speak or act, unable and unwilling to control our desire for change. We will all feel the need to renegotiate the terms of our relationships, person by person, situation by situation, relationship by relationship. In each case, imbalances large and small will be corrected. We will make literally trillions of large and small changes to our relationships and at a fairly profound psychological and spiritual level. These immense numbers of small changes will send seismic shocks through the world’s social, economic and political systems in the next couple of years. We speak of destructive and constructive aspects. These might best be thought of as re-shaping”

The pedophile sex scandal which continues to rock the British Establishment is something which just won’t go away. Everyone thought it was bad enough when all the dirt about Jimmy Saville came out but it looks like he was just the proverbial tip of the iceberg and the web that’s been woven is far, far bigger and more underground than anyone initially thought or guessed. It involves former Home Secretary Leon Brittan who “lost” the crucial dossier and file which named names who (conveniently) died two weeks ago from cancer (which no one heard he had until he died). It also involves convicted billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and through him, his various pals which include high-profile names like Prince Andrew of England, Bill Clinton and famed lawyer Alan Dershowitz.

L-R, Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew

L-R, Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew of Britain

I’m not going to write up too much about that since there are now literally thousands of articles about this story online. Go over to David Icke’s headlines page and there is something practically everyday which he posts from UK newspapers and such. However I would like to point out what these stories really show up about power structures which exist and what it means spiritually for all of us.

Whether you want to admit it or not, there is a ruling elite in this world. They don’t like people like me and you. They never have and they never will. We’re just workers, cogs in the greater wheel and equally disposable. They keep to themselves and protect each other’s interests if need be. It’s been like that since the time of the pharaohs, kings, and now with the kings of finance and business. These people also think that the earth can go to hell in a hell basket, with water shortages, food riots and even nuclear war and it’s all A-OK since they will manage to hide themselves away in underground bunkers and similar structures. Even then, I’m not convinced they are entirely safe.

Design of underground bunkers which are supposedly good enough to withstand the Apocalypse

Design of underground bunkers which are supposedly good enough to withstand the Apocalypse

Prophecy after prophecy, from widely divergent cultures and sources all basically say the same thing about the predicted earth changes and the changes to global society we are facing down: that even if the transition is tough, rough and ugly, not one hair will fall from those who are true, kind and compassionate and keep their faith alive.

These elites are anything but kind, compassionate or honest. Their behavior shows up as much especially when the secretive things they do come out to light as it always eventually does.  I liken them to infectious sores on society. But like an infectious sore, you have to allow the pus to form before you can drain the sore so that healing can take place properly. The poison has to be extracted first. Likewise, we also have our own vices and shortcomings, little poisons we also need to learn to extract from ourselves, our relationships, our world. It’s not easy and sometimes it’s painful, but it has to be done if we are to go forward.

Astrology for December 2014 – Life is Returning

Centaur-yugiohfanatic1s-stories-22777020-262-359

Carl Boudreau has not yet posted anything for December 2014’s astrological outlook on his Facebook however for those of you who love his way of seeing things, he recently did an awesome interview which is chock-full of insights.

Sagittarius is my favourite sign (right after my own sign of  Aquarius, of course…). Traditionally, Sagittarius  is depicted as the centaur, the half-man, half-horse beast of Greek mythology who were known as prophets, powerful healers and astronomers full of ancient wisdom and learning. When I think of typical Sagittarius prophets, I automatically think of the likes of William Blake (Nov.28), Noam Chomsky (Dec.7), Norman Finkelstein (Dec.8), Arthur C. Clarke (Dec.16) and Frank Zappa (Dec.21).

frankzappa

What I really love about Sagittarius energy is that because of its ruling planet, Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance, it brings in lots of very positive, progressively oriented energy.

Old Man Saturn, the planet of karma and restriction, has finally left Scorpio and has entered Sagittarius. (It’s not a coincidence that a plethora of sex abuse scandals suddenly broke out in the last few months particularly the ones involving Bill Cosby, acclaimed Canadian radio host Jian Ghomeshi, and the ongoing investigation involving pedophilia and the British Political Establishment. That’s classic Saturn in Scorpio for you.)

Bill Cosby selling Jello Pudding Pops.....uh....no thanks. Gross.

Bill Cosby selling Jello Pudding Pops…..uh….no thanks. Gross.

Classic Sagittarius energy is what Steve, who used to run the popular blog “Philosopher’s Stone UK”, did. He shut down Philosopher’s Stone UK and started up a new blog called “Phoenix is Risen”, taking a much more pro-active, positive  and progressive outlook which emphasizes possibilities and solutions instead of the usual fear-mongering and doom and gloom many conspiracy-theory websites unfortunately tout.

But now with Saturn and a whole group of other planets who have either already entered or are about to enter Sagittarius, one of the most positive, expansive places within the zodiac, it means one thing: things are going to start to look up for those of you who put in some effort. One of the things I learned when I spent time with First Nations Elders, they always hammered this one rule: The Spiritual world is always ready to help us but they can only help us halfway, they can only help those who decide to help themselves first.

November 2014 Astrological Outlook

(For those of you who want Carl Boudreau’s astrological outlook, here it is.)

November is looking like a Scorpio super-month on steroids.

With a whole host of planets, including Old Man Saturn, affecting the most intense of astrological signs it would seem, everyone is going to get a dose of *something* this month.  (I admit, I have my own astrological biases and Scorpio is NOT one of my favorite signs.)

It is represented as a Scorpion, it’s poisonous tail ready to strike anyone who touches it the wrong way. If you look at older astrological treatises from the Middle Ages and beyond, Scorpio can also be the Soaring Eagle in it’s more enlightened form (as seen on the Tarot card for the Wheel of Fortune)

The Fixed Signs, clockwise from top left, Aquarius, Scorpio, Taurus and Leo. Also the four creatures mentioned in the Book of Revelations in the Bible, the man, the eagle, the ox and the lion.

The Fixed Signs, clockwise from top left, Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo and Taurus. Also the four creatures mentioned in the Book of Revelations in the Bible, the Man, the Eagle, the Lion and the Ox reading the Book of Destiny. The Sphinx sitting on top of the wheel is in reality a composite of all 4 creatures, face of a man, body of a lion, hindquarters of an ox and the wings of the eagle

or the seedy Lounge Lizard it it’s less-evolved form…

Sleazy salesman Herb Tarlek from "WKRP in Cincinnati" who was constantly after Jennifer.

Sleazy salesman Herb Tarlek from “WKRP in Cincinnati” who was constantly after Jennifer, the buxom, blonde receptionist.

Astrological lore suggests that that there are more saints and sinners born under Scorpio which is in line with it’s reputation as the sign of extremes. Nothing is half-way, nothing is half-assed. It’s always everything or nothing. In it’s highest, purest and  most spiritual form, the Soaring Eagle becomes the Phoenix, who periodically dies to only rise out of it’s own ashes, stronger and more magnificent than ever. Because of this, many Scorpios are also known as very powerful healers since they understand, even subconsciously,  the secrets of self-renewal and self-regeneration.

It would seem that the many planets affecting Scorpio (and therefore wherever Scorpio sits in your chart) suggest that things are either going to be changed voluntarily on your part (and make it easier on yourself) or it’s going to be imposed on you, which is never easy.

Be kind to yourselves.

October 2014 Eclipse and Fire Grand Trine

lunar-eclipse-8-oct-2014

Normally, I would be posting my favorite astrologer, Carl Boudreau’s monthly astrological outlook video but Carl has stopped doing videos now and instead posts written reports on his Facebook page. If you like astrology filled with wisdom, you can’t ask for better than Carl.

Having said that and after having scanned many videos online of what diverse astrologers are saying, it looks like next week’s lunar eclipse and the Fire Grand Trine underscoring the whole thing  are a bit of a doozy. Some astrologers have a tendency to panic (i.e astrologer to the fashion jet-set, Susan Miller) and then there are others who are just a little too happy.

I really like Steve Judd‘s (aka The Caustic Astrologer) videos because they are short and concise and get to the point without too much astrological jargon, (say unlike Tom Lescher, who just comes across as a typical West Coast flake. Why spend 20 minutes belaboring when you can say it in 5? Hey Lescher, don’t think I didn’t notice that you copied me by comparing white water rafting to the astrological climate, like the way I did last spring when I talked about April’s Grand Cross. Too much doobage and not enough real, hard-core rafting methinks…)

All astrologers are unanimous: There are some major changes ahead and the end of an era is in sight. Instead of fearing it, embrace it. Whatever isn’t working for you, let it be purged, don’t grasp on so hard. Even at first if you don’t want to end or let go of something, sometimes later on when we look back in hindsight, we realize it was the best thing that could have happened to us.
